That third goal!

Thought we were excellent last night in all areas. Moore, as mentioned was tremendous given that is not his normal position. The difference when a team has an actual striker that competes and holds a ball up to them is night and day to what we were doing last season, you can tell the other players actually think the may get it back when the ball is played forward.
Think it will come down to other results whether we qualify or not but whatever, the three games certainly suggest that we will be a completely different proposition this season and should be challenging at the top if we continue to perform as we have.

If you beat us and Montrose 8 points might be enough. Could even be enough to top the group if st mirren drop any more points, however fingers crossed that’s irrelevant come 10 o’clock
Can't see 8 points being enough unless, as you say, it's to top the group. Even 9 might miss out.

So just wanna lie down to them?
f**k no! Love a derby win but just enjoyed ones over Brechin more over the 30 odd years I’ve watched them.

It was always Brechin as main rival to me. Arbroath and Montrose derbies but never any real heat in them but just something about they hedge dwelling bast&rds!

Was it not 3-0? Or have I gone mental
It was, had a brain freeze, still thawing out from that day!

No better way to qualify than to beat Arbroath
Will certainly be interesting to see how we do. Two seasons ago in the Scottish cup we couldn’t lay a glove on them and despite only 2-0 was a bit embarrassing.
Be interesting to see Robson directly up against Slater too.

I'd keep all 5 centre backs, but Munro is 5th choice. There will be injuries and suspensions throughout so happy to have him there as sure he'll play. I'd have him middle of a 3 if he did play.
I’d have him play where he was tonight.

Excellent performance, strong at back, really nice play, especially first half, only worry is still not taking chances, game should have been over at half time.

I haven't been to a game yet but looking at the squad I like the 3-4-3 formation.
Nah we are definitely 4 at the back so far. Look very neat and tidy, sharp passing and runs but very little cutting edge so far.

Any ideas how much Forfar will be charging for their home games? Think we're going to be at the midweek Arbroath one towards the end of July.
Not been announced as far as I know. It's £14 for League games so would imagine will be similar unless some deal is done with all the clubs for a lesser amount.

Thought we looked quite good, Moore and Allan most impressive for me. We do look awfully lightweight though.

Please see my several dozen posts of "announce Mcinally"
Fair enough, but I think McKinnon will do a better job with these players than McInally would.
Just now, ScottishLoon said:Sorry but the argument of "who would you get to replace him then" is completely obsolete and childish,
Wasn’t an argument, was a question.

Of course I'd have slater and everyone who treated us with respect back if they would be good for the team and make sense.
Someone like Swankie for example with how he left and treated the club, no chance.
You're clearly missing the point.
Swankie refused to play for us while under contract to force a move. In what way is McKinnon’s situation similar?
If you believe the club they have an agreement he can speak to other clubs for a full time job ( quite rightly what right have we to restrict an employee trying to improve his job?) and he did so.
For those that want him gone can you suggest who we get in?

There's some OF levels of entitlement from Forfar fans on here.

How was Mark Gallagher for you lads? Strong rumours in the media he will sign for us imminently as negotiations are complete between Cove and Formartine.
He played in a friendly for us last week against Dunfermline and held his own well. Clearly got some height, strength and technical ability but for his career to dip like it has there must be some flaws. Is he more defensively minded?
Alongside one or two of Fyvie, Yule, Scully or Sena I think he'll be capable in L1. Whether he's going to get regular starts or be a squad player who knows.
Started well with us but the Irvine effect soon took over.

Aye I really don't understand the McInally hype.
McKinnon was a risk precisely due to the prospect of him leaving in this fashion, but there was no question that he's capable of being a very good lower league manager, despite having had one job that was a total disaster.
It's absolutely questionable whether McInally is capable of being a good lower league manager: he's the biggest underachiever in Scottish football. He's had about three good seasons in his entire managerial career and even his title wins came in circumstances where failing to win them would have been a sackable offence. He'll eventually get a team promoted if he has a significant financial advantage over most of the competition but the only genuinely impressive achievement in his career was taking Peterhead into the promotion playoffs in League One, an achievement more than cancelled out by the number of times he bottled something with them.
Understand that. And Morton fans disdain for him, but we are in a bit of a bind here, clearly moving towards a local based approach, clearly a bit hard up and losing manager literally as season is about to start. We have also just risked a couple of new manager appointments that have failed miserably and with the trapdoor looming below us this is no time for another punt.
If there are other realistic options hopefully we will investigate, Weir might be better but something went wrong there beyond his accident last time while Price nearly took Elgin down despite having the best striker in the league.
Also our Board will, in almost every instance, take the easy option. Of course McInally may not fancy the job at all..

I like the Stenny boys. Don't take anything too seriously and the wee jibes at other clubs players and dealings is what makes these boards fun. The League 2 forum is a ghost town at the best of times, I'm glad theres folk here talking shite rather than saying nothing at all.
Only getting worse with the likes of ‘ambitious’ clubs like Cove, Kelty, Bonnyrigg and Spartans with their one fan on P & B shtick.

Yeah this timing could barely be any worse.
You are correct as we have first friendly tomorrow and are still signing for squad. With glass half full at least it is a month or so before the actual league campaign starts, friendlies then League Cup to sort things out before important stuff begins.

He'd be a good appointment. I'd happily have him at The Rock.
The fact he's a really sound guy who absolutely hates B teams only adds to the respect I have for him. A good egg imo.
Also lives locally, if Ray goes ( and let’s face it we all expected it sometime, just this was a hell of a time for it to happen) then McInally would be my first choice too.

Can’t really understand another centre half unless we are losing an existing one or going to be playing three at the back. The only positive to Munro up front would be he wouldn’t be in defence.
