Very close game , in the end thought we were fortunate to get the point. Andy Munro launching balls forward needs to stop.

Certainly a change from the first encounter at Station Park this season where both teams went into it in terrible form, under poor managers.
If Craig Thomson is fit would get him into the starting line up and it will be interesting to see how Ray manages to fit Slater back into the team, he and Robson in the same midfield would be one of the better passing units about.

Any highlights from Saturday or were they blown away?

I'd be very confident putting money on Forfar finishing in the top four (third probably) and if that happens then (unless there's a major drop off in form) I'd genuinely fancy your chances in the playoffs. Whoever out of us and the Binos finishes second (barring a major collapse from either) will be on a big downer heading into the playoffs. Whereas you lot have nothing to lose.
We didn't switch our manager. But I see a fair bit of 2011/12 Dumbarton in how the Loons' season is panning out. Momentum takes you a long way in football.
There’s a lot to be said for being on form at the right time of the season in the 10 team leagues set up but I still think we should be concentrating on getting bit more distance from the bottom spot first.

Thought we were pretty poor for much of the game but still got an important three points.

We’ve just had to experience 18 months under a complete moron of a manager, we’re not used to this thing called ‘winning’.
Yip, 10 men on not Irvineball would have found a way to lose yesterdays match.

If only the board had punted Irvine after 9 games, the title might not be a pipe dream.
Yeah, everyone knew he was done apart from them apparently, should have gone weeks before he did instead they put out that bloody ‘statement’. The difference with a proper manager in charge has been immediate.

Quite the game of football. Before the red card Forfar had hit the bar and almost conceded a calamitous own goal. Terrible bit of defending for the red card but even so Armour had a lot to do to score so he should have let him go. Rest of first half highlighted our deficiencies in front of goal with McLuskey the chief sinner.
Second half Armours persistence got him the opener , then Munro hit inside of post before a good run from Ross saw him scythed by the left back, debatable if it was in the box but a pretty nasty tackle that saw Ross limp out of game. Should have been game over but Dumbarton scored through penalty , don’t know what the offence was. Little nervy toward end but Aitken had a gilt edge chance to seal points and was his usual hopeless self. Ref blows final whistle as Flanagan shoots from distance and scores.
Best for Forfar were Thomson and Armour but really decent team performance again. Why oh why did we persist so long with those two useless Gary’s at start of the season?
Dumbarton were up against it as soon as they were down to 10 men but did OK until they lost first goal and seemed to lose plot discipline wise after that.

Highlight for me was the wee Forfar ultras giving the “will greggs in fire song” jumping about and being chased by the stewards, could only have been topped if the pa had played the theme tune from Benny Hill.
Certainly preferable to watching Matty Aitken ‘play’

Any chance of a loan signing today? Or a trialist being added to the bench?
Ideally we need a couple of bodies in for depth.
And is there any doubt about the game tomorrow? Will be a last minute decision on whether I can get to the game or not. If there's a serious doubt about the match then I won't rush to get everything done early.
Would be absolutely fine today, tomorrow forecast is wetter but should be little chance of being off. Think you will be safe enough to travel.

I was definitely down on Docherty returning but since McKinnons arrival he has looked fine, very vocal and can fill in a few positions, well worth having in squad at the moment given the injury prone make up of it at this time.

The bottom team will come from rovers or Bonnyrigg .
Can’t see this post coming back to haunt you at all. Not at all.

McKinnon now has as many points in six games as Irvine did.
Just shows the insanity of that statement backing him and keeping Irvine on those few extra games.

Not a great signing.
The first step on route to non league obscurity.
Hardly the first step.

Don't think the referee was responsible for that defending, lads.
Don’t quite get this as it was our left back that was sent off and the cross should have been cut off before it came in from his side?

Just as well City won, then...
Was never in doubt with that ref.

Robbed. Utterly robbed. Hopefully never see that ref back in charge of one of our games.

Is there any truth to Kane Hester signing for Forfar Athletic or is it purely just the fact he has bought a house in the town?
I certainly wouldn’t bet on it ( but he might!).

Hanratty shite?
There was high hopes for him a couple of years ago but looks like he's not going to cut it.
Not shite but believe he may have had a bit of an attitude problem at Forfar that did not especially endear him to other players / management from what I heard.

Hoping Maurice Ross can add a few quality players to the Stenhousemuir squad.
Certainly has the skill set to take you out of League Two.

McCallum was motm for a reason, if Stenny had a semi competent goalkeeper we wouldn’t have scored. Happy to take point when we weren’t at our best, also thought Stenny looked decent.
