  1. Phillips was a LM / Striker?? I thought there would be a bit reshuffling this month, didn't particularly rate Dunlop or Phillips so no surprise to see them move on. Replacement defenders must be coming in
  2. It all depends who moves on, Thomson, Malin and Callaghan you would imagine will be looking elsewhere as they have had no real opportunities, if that happens we would need an extra midfielder. We definitely need a another defender, possibly another right back / right centre back that would allow Dunlop to leave who has proved short of the mark. regarding Jimmy Scott, I wouldn't imagine he will start on Monday but great to have him back. I may be in the minority but I actually don't think prunty has been as good as everyone else thinks over the past few games so he has to do more to keep the jersey, Doris has been terrific
  3. Hamilton and Little are a great partnership, we have the best defensive record in the league. Sukur and Phillips are decent left backs at this level.
  4. I was one of the few that liked Skelly last year, could see he had talent, he was playing in a rank rotten team. This year he has better players around him, equally good up front or out wide, his delivery is frightening on his left side. Would be great to get him till the end of the season, looks like he is enjoying it aswel
  5. Keep skelly and sukur for the season and send Mutch back
  6. Not played much recently, penalty box striker and we've not created much. Looks to have a lost a yard or two of pace. By all accounts seems a great guy and his attitude is brilliant.
  7. The days of 30+ goal aseason strikers have pretty much gone at this level, the game has changed so much. More emphasis on shape and systems and teams being overly cautious and trying to slowly build the play up. Getting the ball into the box quickly or getting wingers to the byline and getting crosses in seems to be unfashionable. There is no doubt the return from our strikers has been poor and hopefully the manager addresses it in January. They've not had great supply but also not taken their chances when they came along. Skelly and Doris for me tomorrow.
  8. Dick already has a job so that is a non story. Ian Murray has to be a good shout, seemingly he applied for Montrose so would imagine he would be interested.
  9. Heard it was Downfield. IC said this would be happening more to give the fringe players some game time.
  10. He did a talk at the start about building up a club and building a team and how everyone should be in it together, players, fans, directors, management. Answered most questions fairly well and it looks like the stuff that has been frustrating us has been frustrating them even more. He almost asked Simon to join the coaching staff at one point hahaha
  11. Quite enjoyed the session last night, very insightful and good to see the club trying to build relations between the board, management, players and fans.
  12. Firstly, it is a good thing that Kane will get some good time, I think I am right in saying that Broughty are in the super league? so its sill a pretty decent standard. His pace should cause problems at that level and hopefully he bangs in a few goals and gets some confidence. Sensible decision and suits all parties.
  13. Who's all attending the Q&A on Thursday? would be good to get numbers along
  14. Would be interesting to see why this didn't happen straight away when DC came in or in the summer, Rab work commitments or just needing a break perhaps. Good signing, great addition to the dressing room and sure he can fill in if and when required. Not that I am too fussed but I really don't see why Aberdeen would be worried about Mutch being cup tied, surely they have 3 0r 4 keepers ahead of him
  15. I would give us a 6/10 for the first quarter. Should be looking for 16-20 points minimum for the next quarter. Not seen a team that is considerably better than us. Thought Clyde and Berwick were pretty decent.
  16. He was to blame for the first, it was closer to the middle of the goal than it was to the corner.
  17. Nah, but we could send them on loan to yourselves perhaps, might finally get you a point
  18. I actually think DCs interviews have been very refreshing so far, we had to put up with some dross from Lumsden and even Moore trying to sugar coat things time and time again so I like the fact that he is honest and tells it how it is, Saturday simply wasn't a good performance but it was a game we would've lost 2 or 3 nil last season. I didn't actually see Kane missing a "sitter" however most players who signed have praised his man management so I would assume Kane is fully aware of what he needs to do get in the starting 11. Also, when did Kane suddenly become Messi? We have a tendency to constantly look to someone who isn't playing as if they are some sort of talisman. He has signed Prunty and Doris so it makes sense to give them a run of games (possibly even the full 1st quarter) to see if they can strike up a partnership and get something going.
  19. Must have been tricky for the lad coming in last season with the team playing so poorly, unrest on the terraces towards the manager, hopefully we see more from him. Centre back is what we've been crying out for.
  20. Heard Skelly may be coming back from Dundee on loan, think he would compliment us at the moment, he's another year older so hopefully see an improvement in him.
  21. With loan players it purely comes down to if they are good enough and contribute, if they don't perform and are no better than our fringe players then fans (particularly ours) get infuriated. If they come in and and improve us and help us win games and play better then it has to be a positive. Personally I think 3 is enough at any given time.
  22. Hopefully one is a striker and the other a centre back.
  23. Agree with that, not so sure on the Dunlop / Little partnership as yet so maybe that's why he reverted to a 3.
  24. I am not sure that game against Aberdeen had any baring on any of the players fitness or energy levels. The double trip to Inverness (which was just bad luck with the draw) was a bit unfortunate, as he said in the interview it is unlike any other season, I think Colin Hamilton for example has played in about 10 games before a ball is kicked in the league, definitely not ideal. Regarding the system dilemma, I think the switch is based on keeping Whatley, Scott and McCord in the team and he must feel that he is not comfortable with a back 4 with who is available, I think the main problem is the right back position, does he move Whatley there? looks like Thomson and Wilson are injured so in a way the 3-5-2 has been almost forced on us. I agree it hinders Omar and Bobby.
