  1. Very good today, enjoyed the game. Clean sheet and all three strikers scored which is good
  2. I take it O’Brien and Steele are injured? Some acting as if we’ve picked this team on purpose. that said, he needs to get a defender in ASAP, this was always going happen. Think we can win this 2nd half even with the team we have out Bird very impressive
  3. Would say I have been more concerned about the form of Little, OBrien (to an extent) and McKenna rather than anyone else in the games so far, time for them to get the finger out. Goal 1 , guy gets in between Ricky and Steele and its allowed to come in too easily Goal 2, Poor poor defending from RIcky and Goldy, particularly Goldy, he has to be more aggressive and clear the danger Goals 3 and 4, we were a bit wide open but then again it was a cup tie and we were chasing the game, don't expect opposing midfielders to be running at our defence like that. A poor defensive day all around, often feel these game hinge on not losing an early goal which we did and then it was an uphill battle. Hopefully we can win the next two and build some positive momentum going into the United game.
  4. Sensible line up. The team most wanted to see
  5. Yeah, he was nowhere near as bad as that, I dont think he will play ahead of the other two but it was probably the game to have a look at him.
  6. Its very early days so wasn't expecting as to be at our fluent best, there's now been 3 surprise results in the group so its wide open, I expect us to abandon the 2 up front on Saturday and go with a more solid look. Would like to see Slater and Balde in midfield with McKenna in behind Bird or McIntosh.
  7. Juts don’t get the point in not starting Stowe , I can’t watch another season of our creative players sitting on the bench. Good to see Slater eventually and agree that Kenan was the best of the strikers. Certainly not the fall guy for me
  8. A hard watch. called it at start of game, completely wrong team selection.
  9. Get Stowe and Mcintosh on, it’s all a bit safety Sam for me. We need to be having a real go at this level of opposition
  10. Getting a bit dejavu here. We sign an exciting young player from lower leagues yet he’s stuck on the bench behind David Gold nothing against Goldy, we know what he’s capable of but we need more flair / creativity / goals in the team
  11. 4-4-2. Gold on the right and Dow on the left. There’s no way that can be a 3.5.2
  12. I think at home we may go 4-4-2 with Bird and McIntosh, those will give most defences problems, both quick and both physical. Against better opposition, we may be left a bit wide open with only two in midfield and it kind of rules out playing Stowe who looks to be quite exciting in terms of his attacking attributes. Balde, Gold, Allan, McKenna, Jacobs, Norey and Dow all fighting to get into the midfield which is good for competition. Think the team at St Mirren will tell us what DC is thinking, but then again who knows what it is his mind.
  13. Think it will be 4-4-2 DG Steele Little TOB Stewart Stowe Allan McKenna Dow McIntosh Bird
  14. We just don’t have the necessary players to play that system. You could argue that we’re playing an extra defender at home to a lowland league team which could be seen as more defensive. If we had a left footed centre back and a left back / wing back that could up and down I could see us playing but we don’t. We need continuity also, not chopping and changing systems.
  15. We do not have a left footed centre back and a left footed wing back which is essential for balance to play that system. Think we only played it first couple of games to fit trialists in.
  16. There’s no way we play a back 3 at home to Cowdenbeath
  17. The signings of Stowe , Adams and Keenan were pretty much laughed off as if we’d signed 3 utter duds. Now it’s “we’ve had a good window” Didn’t make it today but seems a good result , sets up nicely for Wednesday, doubt Cowdenbeath wilL be up to much so should be straight forward.
  18. Be interesting to see if we add another striker whether he is paired with Mcintosh or replaces him for Wednesday.
  19. Agree, I’d say if Hammy is any later than September then we’d need cover . It’s about managing a squad and a budget and I’m not sure it’s easy just to bring in cover, a top left back who can play at championship level isn’t wanting to come and play a few games and then sit on the bench.
  20. That’s a totally different situation. Hancock is not a guy punting about on trial. He’ll end up back down south I’d imagine.
  21. He was a young English kid trying to make his way at Aberdeen, I’m not sure why on earth he would want to come to us part time unless he plans to stay in Scotland. Also he wasn’t really that good. If Hamilton is back in September as some are reporting, what happens to the cover left back then? I would imagine Gold or Stewart fill in there til he’s back which I’m happy with. Especially if it means us having enough budget to get a forward in.
  22. Don't have an issue with Stewart at LB until Hammy is back, far from ideal but feel he is more than comfortable, due to his speed and presence he is very unlikely to get beat 1 on 1 defending, maybe just lacking that quality on the ball or to switch the play on his wrong side. Think it all depends when Hammy returns as to whether we sign a left back.
  23. I thought Dundee were decent also. Liked the look Of us first half but 2nd half became a bit disjointed. Stowe and Steele look good additions.
  24. Quite a strong looking team with either Stewart or Gold at LB it would seem. Only one trialist on the bench. So all feels a bit more like a real game. This game will be a good test for us
