  1. I am by no means a birdwatcher but I spotted a Jay earlier for the first time while out walking my dog. Dont remember ever seeing one before and didnt realise they were so common in Scotland. I then took my dog to St Ninians cave near Whithorn and watched some Gannets diving just a few yards off shore. Then spotted a very bright yellow little bird on my way home. Not sure what that was though. Also I was walking along the coast a couple of months ago and was watching, and listening to some very fast bird swooping above me. They were that fast they sounded like a jet flying over. Any idea what these would have been?
  2. I wish it was. By the time I got the message, they had taken it down. Strange.
  3. A friend sent me this but queens have since deleted it from twitter
  4. Has it been announced anywhere that Ellis has actually left? Have only seen it mentioned on here.
  5. Not tried classes yet. Im a bit limited where I live but there is the odd one nearby. He can be trusted off a lead as long as there isnt any deer or other wildlife about [emoji23]. I would love to be able to walk him to heel though.
  6. I wanted a labrador originally but came across a litter of sprockadors and decided to get one. A few people warned me against it as they can be a lot harder to train. Turns out they were right as he is totally mental but it is probably down to me being a shit trainer as well.
  7. Jet the sprockador. Wasn't the best decision getting a crossbreed but wouldn't trade him for anything else now.

    Gigs

Saw them in Glasgow. Best band I've watched in a long time. What a voice Rebecca Lovel has as well.
  9. I can vouch for the gs mini. I played my dads mini and had a 114 myself. The mini sounded awesome for its size and so easy to play. I then bought a 214ce for about £1100 and didnt think it played or sounded as good as the cheaper ones so i sold it. May look into getting a mini myself now.
  10. People who say or write actual instead of actually. "I actual can't believe I woke up in my own bed this morning" When did the L and Y get dropped from the word? Seems 18-21 year olds coming out with this pish all the time. Is it just laziness or sheer stupidity?
  11. Think I've only ever played one or two PRS guitars in shops. I would love to buy one but nowhere near good enough to justify spending thousands on one. I recently bought a worn bourbon Les Paul for about £600 and can't fault it really.
  12. Yes I kinda hope they're not fans and just out to watch a game but suspect Im probably wrong. If the game was a scottish cup quarter final or a more meaningful , my pie and chips would have been flung all over the 4 rows in front of me.
  13. Think I sit near you and in my defence, I couldnt celebrate 2 goals because I was eating a pie and had chips on my lap. Sorry if I offended you.

    Fishing

Yep its not the best. I tend to avoid it because I dont like sitting in the town while fishing anyway. To get to newton farm, head toward auchenlarie holiday park, just before you get there you will see a farm on the left with the loch just to the right of the farmhouses. If you stop in at one of the houses they should let you on no problem. Maybe charge you a few quid. Apart from the weed being a pain in the arse, its right beside the a75 so if you dont like traffic noise while fishing its probably not the best option [emoji1]. Another option is torrs loch just outside kirkcudbright near a place called mutehill. Definitely worth a try if youre over that way. Costs roughly the same as newton farm and you just ask at the farmhouse down the road for permission as far as I know. Hope you enjoy gatehouse too [emoji106].

    Fishing

Never fished clatteringshaws. Its a big resevoir but you could stop in at mccowans in castle douglas and they might be able to point you to a good spot. Ive heard its got some good pike and perch. Carlingwark is free to fish but not the best as its in the town and fished a lot but if youre looking for an easy spot to fish for a few hours its probably worth a shot. Stroan is a decent sized loch out of the way but limited spots to fish from along the raiders road. Never had a double from there and fished it quite a bit so could suit the gear youre using. You could also try woodhall loch which is close by. You can fish right next to the road and a guy will come down and charge about a fiver. Its a fairly big loch but probably the most scenic and plenty of fish in there. Theres also a place called newton farm near gatehouse of fleet with a small loch my dad used to stock trout in. Think i mentioned it on here before. Its has some huge fish in a tiny area but also a lot of jack pike. You may end up getting annoyed with the amount of weed though. I live in gatehouse and work in castle douglas so ill keep an eye out for you [emoji1]
  16. That was my first thought but here's the link I got sent earlier. https://m.facebook.com/groups/700682350116796?view=permalink&id=933577736827255
  17. Not sure if this has been mentioned on here before, but I read earlier that Queens paid out the most from all the championship clubs for policing costs last season. Surprising.
  18. The last couple of videos I have seen of local people getting caught for grooming online have both had serious learning difficulties. I think these so called hunters have forced the real beasts that know what theyre doing to find other, smarter ways to get what they want, and these idiots are left standing shouting at mentally disabled people live on facebook.
  19. It wasn't just the bands down the bill that I could barely hear. Temperance Movement were loud enough to me but I really struggled to hear some of Queen as well as The Darkness. I never heard of word of Brian Mays solo song. I did think it might be a location thing.

    Fishing

Loch ken can be a hit or miss. Some people say crayfish have ruined it but I still hear of big fish being caught. Not sure how much of a problem they can be outside this area though. Strangely, some of the biggest pike Ive seen have been caught in a tiny loch/pond just down the road from where I live.

    Fishing

I go a lot during winter but join a trout loch in the summer. Living in galloway, I have a lot of choice of pike lochs. Some better than others. Not that i catch any big ones myself but Ive witnessed a good few being caught.
  22. All of you must have been really close to the stage. I was about halfway back and thought the volume was really low. Especially for the darkness. Temperance movement were class as always as were queen obviously. Went to king tuts at midnight for TM and they blew me away as usual.

    Fishing

Been fishing all my life. Probably tried most methods apart from carp fishing and general coarse fishing. Never really interested me for some reason. Ive bought a lot of gear from fishtec on ebay and glasgow angling centre but not sure if they are good value.
  24. Exactly what I was thinking. It was his job to play for queens, which he got paid for. If I got injured at work, I'd have to wait on the nhs to get an operation just like most people.
