  1. Goal absolutely took the wind out of us, we were the better team up until that. More of the same shite in the middle of the game though, looked done until Bruce came on
  2. It's a weird agreement he has where he's said that any decision on his future is made by the club. He's not interested in leaving until he's told to (if an opportunity is too good or if he's sacked). Even if he could walk for 'free' without a contract it'd still be our board making the decision. I can't see us letting him go to a relegation rival. That's not to say that if there was some daft mental deal where a 'transfer fee' of sorts was stumped up that we'd then say no but it's all a bit weird. To be fair you could wait a few weeks and get him for nothing if he ends up getting sacked
  3. We are pure box office, been in all four leagues in the space of about 10 years. Cup finals, cup winners, title winners. Financial ruin, mad owners, I wish we were a bit more boring. A Motherwell or St Mirren however, snooze fest. Mid table, sometimes good, sometimes bad but always middle of the road.
  4. Also, what would a rough estimate be for ripping up the plastic, sticking in grass, maintaining the grass and buying/installing/running undersoil heating? For a club with an annual turnover of just over 1m, I can't see us just taking that whole sum and whacking it on a pitch
  5. There's more to it than the surface level. He's absolutely under pressure given it's, I think, six losses in a row. We went around four full games with one shot on target. Even with little to no budget, that should be sounding off alarm bells alone. Managers have a shelf life and I fear that Martindale is close to the end of his, despite the wonders he has worked with us.
  6. Yeah, WyScout. I think he uses that for more specific players though. When he needs a first team vital player replaced, no doubt he also does it with the players in on trial too but he's talked about the 'eye test' for a trialists a lot. He was open enough about it with Luiyi, told him he needed more experience and he went and got it. Another one it happened with was David Cancola, when he scored the winner against us at the Mac for Ross County he was a bit arsey about it.
  7. I think you're giving Martindale too much credit there, he isn't out spotting players in those leagues. It's agents that know we have an open door for trials in the summer and sometimes in the winter. We get 100+ trialists in and out during those periods yearly.
  8. It was a clause based extension, which he met. 1 year deal, extended by 2 on that trigger.
  9. Sangare has been iffy for me so far, far too rash. Nottingham, I can't see how anyone can really say much about him yet apart from that he was injured. Lloyd was cover yeah, but Martindale talked all summer about signing a first choice RB as Brandon wasn't good enough. To the point that we've had Nouble, Penrice, Montano, Mackay all play there. Are we really in a position to be signing prospects given the talk of budgets etc? They won't be on anything less than minimum wage obviously but I can't imagine they'll be too close to that either.
  10. If all the signings are cheap, none of them are. The only ones you could say weren't were probably Shamal, Dykes, and probably one or two others that came via compensation. This season alone you've had: Devlin - Good player but as expected had some time out with injuries Sangare - Hit or miss, can be really rash at times. Only time will tell if he gets up to speed or flops Welch-Hayes - Signed but not ready for first team action, could come good but again could just flop Nottingham - Spent a lot of time out injured, same as above 2. Teto - No work permit, flat out a terrible signing so far. Lawal - Signed with great international youth caps but clearly not ready to contribute at all Lloyd - Signed as cover for Montano when he was out, done absolutely nothing. Can anyone say that any of the signings this summer have been a success so far? I understand that we've had the talk of budgets and our spending power has lessened but it's another year of being backed into a corner. We clearly don't pay enough contributions to make the loan market work effectively at this level either. Is it a lack of connections at this point?
  11. Come on now, that's just pure revisionism. Any player taking up a wage and not playing or contributing is a drain given the budgets we work with. Harrison Clark, Harry Panayiotou, Bitsindou, Cancar, Goncalves, Kurtis Guthrie, Kouider-Aissa, Poplatnik, Lokotsch, Stokes, Reilly and Longridge (to an extent). Then you look at the loans of, Djibril Diani, Robby McCrorie x2, Adam Lewis, Ben Williamson, Chukwuemeka and Soto, There's a lot of very clear misses that sat out of squads for almost a whole season at a time. That's still wages spent, signing on fees, spaces in the squad gone. That's before we even look at Teto and Lawal who don't even get a game, while one doesn't even have a work permit. Parkes is the worst of the lot given he's chronically injured and had injury issues prior to signing but there's been plenty.
  12. You should pump us silly this time. We're awful
  13. I think the best idea is keeping DM around, DOF role makes a lot of sense for me. Managerial side of things, I'd take Rhys McCabe
  14. For reference, I think this is the worst run we've had in the last 20 years or so. The sticky spell comes later into the season, what happens if that happens again? This is shaping up to be a bit different to the bad runs we have each season.
  15. Just feels like we need fresh eyes on the squad and someone a bit more experienced that can takes us through the storm. Not Dick Campbell or Yogi Hughes before anyone says it ffs
  16. Did you miss the fact that Danny was out injured for today?
  17. Out of contract in the summer as well. I thought the same, one of the few good players for us. Nouble, you can have for free in January what a fall from grace.
  18. Ross County game is a must win, if not then surely he has to go
