  1. In what respect? The top 2 or the rest? Look at the results? Galston go beat kilbride last week? Tarbolton beat Hurlford ams. Ardrossan castle have perhaps left it too late too escape the bottom but I don't think anyone could call who is going too finish 3rd or second bottom in the premier at the moment. Yourselves could just as easily be in either of they spots come may bud
  2. I think its the best Ayrshire amateur league season for some time. Apart from possibly Shortlees and Hurlford Thistle I don't think there's many scorelines that can be predicted right throughout the leagues. There's Ardrossan castle Rovers sitting winless and pointless at the foot off the premier and go put Southside out the West. Literally anyone in the premier could finish 3rd or finish bottom. Dalry beating Onthank, glenmuir, catrine and crosshill can spank or get spanked by anyone in their league depending which team shows up ha! Despite all the talk about the demise of amateur football i actually think Ayrshire is in its best place in years
  3. No excuses for the behaviour of young Skoda and absolutely no excuse for bringing family members into play or physically or verbally threatening a referee. Referees are only human and it is a job I could never do. To be able too take that level of abuse and not react or even go over and knock one of the morons out would be so hard for me personally. All that being said i have witnessed some shocking officiating at this level and there are referees who are beyond arrogant, one of which has been mentioned in this thread. Speak to club officials and players like dirt and just simply collect their money and could not care less about their actions during the course off a match and the possible repercussions for clubs etc........
  4. I'm afraid you did as in your post previous you refer too Craigie as 'us'
  5. I think its very reasonable to assume that an amateur club that goes far in the majors might come unstuck in the league when they have a fixture backlog. Credit too them last year but I think they won't this year that's all. Overall standard in the premier is better this year i believe and there's a greater chance of dropping points like the Ardeer match
  6. That's right they might not? Is that a crime too say that? Don't need to name call or want square gos to act like a Billy big time. Being that incredibly arrogant that no opinion is allowed other than your own and not a word can be said against shortlees, even though I didn't even say one, is acting like a Billy big time. Hurlford Thistle won the league every season for years yet hardly anyone tipped them for it last year so by your logic that was wrong of us all then as they had done it before??
  7. It's not about discussion. It's about the fact you do not like the fact my opinion differs from yours. It's my entitlement and it's what I believe. Only Shortlees boys seems to get disgruntled when an opinion goes against them. Hurlford Thistle haven't had a good opinion on them said on this in p & b history, rightly so by the way, but they don't come on here and try fend it all off and have a go if anyone says anything against. For goodness sake I have said that i reckon Shortlees have a huge chance in both majors and it's still a fault. We all loved the fact Shortlees toppled thistle last year and there was a couple of thousand there cheering you all on, myself included but they way yous go on now you are becoming no better than them. Except the fact someone thinks you won't win the league and go prove them wrong again instead of arguing over the fact and looking like a Billy big time
  8. I think we could go round the houses on this subject all day. The reason amateur football is on its knees is down to one very simple reason and that is players! If every single club had 16 committed players week in week out then no club would fold in my opinion. I have never heard off a club folding that had 16 players available every week or at least every other week. The change in society socially means that players only interest at the weekend is getting off their heads. They wake up on a Saturday morning and just couldn't care less about playing football. More and more are playing Sunday football again as, without being disrespectful, it's generally accepted at that level too play no matter what state you are in whereas most amateur clubs would frown upon it and you would not play. If players were dedicated to their Saturday amateur club then I do not believe we would be having this discussion as all clubs would still thrive and be on the go. Work also plays a huge part as the vast majority of players these days work shifts and weekends too, either as part of their rota or for overtime. In this day and age very few people can afford too turn down time and a half/double time for a Saturday shift. The paying of players by certain clubs does not help either. Players would rather go to a club paying them to sit on a substitute bench rather than playing elsewhere for a club that needs them to help them survive. There is simply not enough dedicated players going round to keep all the teams running and if there was, I truly believe that all the side issues would not be a factor.
  9. Two cracking games in the prem this week with Shortlees playing kilbride and HT playing Glenburn
