  1. One player doesn't make you title challengers all off a sudden. If that was the case Dirrans would have been challenging for a few year when he played there
  2. With all due respect the two you signed didn't get a game with them mate. Our point is every club has the belief until they get a season behind them in the premier. I hope you guys win the league as you are a good side with a good set of boys and stay together if you do. I think the relegation of galston, the folding of Hurlford AFC, the decline in kilbride thistle, and now Shortlees proves our point. Hopefully new farm buck the trend then you guys too. But all they teams i mentioned had a great bunch of boys who wanted success and had belief in their clubs. Only Shortlees achieved that success with ex HT players and now won't sustain it. The premier league is poison for the majority of teams
  3. Every manager wants too challenge them. But they can't do that without the players. The Shortlees team did it yes and where are they players now? They were probably the finest group of players ayrshire ever had and all ex HT. Shortlees will do well to be mid table this year. If crosshouse or whoever win the league convincingly i guarantee thistle will come in and lure their best players away £££. Kilbride won 1st and they took their best player off them, granted he eventually went back. Hurlford AFC won 1st and took their best player off them. The evidence is there. Other than one season thistle have walked it for best part of ten years
  4. Players drop out the premier league for competition and a chance too win a league title. Apart from one year where ex Hurlford Thistle players got together too upset the apple cart, it's been won by cheats for the last nine years. Players are scunnered with it and that's why they predominately drop into the lower leagues.
  5. Just shows the decline in the ayrshire amateur game with the amount of massive scores today. Crosshouse scored 13 as well
  6. Who? Pele Quigley yes, great player but who else do they have that's premier standard? Michael Howie is very overrated. Killie Ams ripped him to shreds pre season and I think he's still getting over his last premier outing where he was embarrassed in front of a 1000+ crowd lol
  7. They have lost Davidson (nothing special) and Steven Currie. Brought in Mick Mullen, Fisher, Lyon, Rocks, Colligan and probably ain't finished yet. They definitely have a stronger squad than last year and still managed too win league and get too Ayrshire final and Scottish semi final with what everyone said was their poorest side in years. I hope you are right but I fear I will be
  8. Only one I saw was they lost 6-2 too Catrine
  9. Not the Scottish or West but I believe they will dominate Ayrshire trophies this season
  10. Mibbay that means there aren't any mate lol?
  11. From what I can see all cfc did was state that unfortunately Shortlees are not the team they were, and he is right. I don't see him saying he wants too see them fail or disrespected their achievements??
  12. If you had signed a player then you heard he was playing games elsewhere would you be happy and not a little concerned?
  13. The rule used to be that you could play for anyone in a pre season friendly signed or not. It changed recently. It's very simple....if you intend to play with numerous teams then don't sign with anyone. Equally if you change your mind, ask to be released. None of it is rocket science
  14. Yeah there's at least two boys I know off who are signed elsewhere and playing with them
  15. Thanks to the galston defence mate. Goals were gifted. And the Ardeer defence was very poor. Good few strikers in the premier who will have a field day with them
  16. Took this game in. Galston should have been out of sight by half time. Ardeer won't be anywhere near title challengers on this evidence but I appreciate it is only a friendly
  17. The 1st and 2nd divisions will be the leagues too watch. So many clubs improving and have signed well. This is because they know there's a title challenge in they leagues. The premier is a foregone conclusion every year apart from the one year ex thistle players took the hump and stuffed them. The amount of premier clubs struggling to get teams too compete is unbelievable and obviously a good club like Hurlford Ams have already bit the dust
  18. Galston and Catrine really struggling too from what I have heard
  19. Agreed but I also think they are loyal too fellow players rather than teams. If one player leaves a club you find that there or four follow. That's Ardrossan and Hurlford away and if I was a betting man I don't think they will be the only two before season starts
  20. Gutted for Hurlford Ammies and big Marc although in chatting too him earlier he gives the impression he's relieved. Incredible job been done there over the years and will be a huge loss to the amateur game. As discussed earlier in thread player loyalty is a thing off the past
  21. The bonnyton who have went amateur have nothing too do with the existing bonnyton set up
  22. Aye I cant really see past crosshouse if they can keep the majority of their squad. Also heard rogi and cass are off there aswell. Heard Cass signed for Hurlford ammies
  23. 1. Glenburn 2. HT 3. Hurlford Ams 4. Ardeer 5. Shortlees
