Looks like I was lucky and missed the game!!
Been coming but in fairness been a really good start to the season.
Need to dust ourselves down and go again and try to be unbeaten for another two months. May not happen but that should be the goal

Any idea who the wee trialist up front for Broxburn was? Just seen videos of his goals... looks decent!
It's a cracking set up at Armadale... been along a few times last couple of seasons. Defo a Premier side in a few seasons with their set up and fan base - and surely only a matter of time before licensed to join us in the "Big" Scottish.
No idea but if available I’d snap him up in a heartbeat. Despite being small, had great pace, balance, ability and willingness to get stuck in. He almost had a first half hat trick but the ref adjudged the ball had gone out.

Went along to the friendly with Armadale last night. Pretty decent game to watch. Good to see a lot of the bench / players returning from injury get a good few minutes in their legs.
Good set up there and they have a pretty decent team. Expect them to be pushing for promotion into the second tier this year.

Banff Springs Hotel is top class. I think that's a short drive to Buckie.
Thanks. Getting mixed up with where Deveronvale play!!! It’s Banff and not Buckie!!!

Anyone know off any good hotels in Buckie?

Good win and into the next round which is all that matters. Again made life a tad more difficult than it should have been. Put that down to SC nerves and everyone want to be well

I think 433 suits us with 2 genuine wingers. We have looked much more of a threat going forward 13 goals in a week against two very good teams and a side we have struggled against lately.
Need to keep it going

But if we end up just having a wee 10 minute spell like that in exchange for a solid 80 mins... I'll take that as a deal for the season!
Been a few games like that. Away to Luncarty we dominated but in the end were hanging on a bit. Would have been a travesty to drop points but almost did.

Into nosebleed territory!
A really good, solid win last night. I thought Jeanfield looked quite slick and pacey, but something just didn't click for them... so maybe away from home on a midweek they aren't quite at their best!
Having said that, Broxburn were on top most of the game and getting into a 3 goal lead looked comfortable. Then with about 10 mins left Jeanfield had a man sent off and suddenly we looked a bit panicked especially as they pulled one back.
Playing again with the two wingers worked well and it's a tactic that seems to have suited us well in these last two games against two good sides.
Yes thought the formation suited us again. We look much more dangerous and there always seems to be an option to pass.
Not sure if it was panic or slackness after Jeanfield got a man sent off but I’ll take the win and move on.
As you say nosebleed territory

I think it's a combination of the 2, I spoke to some of the players before departure and they are glad the period of 2 games a week is over now as they have been really feeling it. Unfortunately, our poorest game so far. There are always "what ifs" like what if we got a penalty just before you scored the 3-0, but these things happen in football. But it's too easy to just blame it on that moment as we didn't create enough. In fairness, credit is due to Broxburn as you've easily been the strongest team we've played this season. We'd have to be at our best to have a chance to beat you and we simply weren't, so the better team on the day won and we can't have complaints about that. It's a shame from our point of view but as much as I'd have loved a cup run, promotion is something we all really want so if we have an off-day I'd rather have it in the cup than in an important league game.
We just learn from this and move on. Good luck to you for the next round and the rest of the season. Also thanks to Buchan Bowling Club who were great hosts to us before the game and the Broxburn committee who made us feel welcome. I had some good chats with very friendly people. As often with away days, a great day out despite the result!
Good luck in your quest for promotion

Sunshine, a decent crowd and a sensational 2nd half performance to book a place in the next round. A perfect Scottish Cup day. Dreams of Hampden can begin!!
First half was a pretty solid competitive match without either side really creating any chances.
Second, Broxburn came out like a steam train, tried to get the ball forward quicker and completely caught Lochee cold and scored twice in the opening 5 minutes of the half. Lochee never really got back into the game from there and Broxburn added a 3rd with about half hour to go. From there, we just saw out the game fairly comfortably.
Towards the end of the game, a few of the Lochee players were struggling to keep going and looked very tired... too many early season midweek games? Or just not used to being tested to that extent?
Delighted with our 2nd half display and looking forward to tomorrow's draw.
Was more comfortable than I thought it would be.
was a bit disappointed with Lochee but a very Good display from Broxburn playing with two wingers for a change. Tbf management not done too much wrong this season. Onto the next round hopefully a kind draw.1 -

Callum Bremner looked a wee bit lost and lonely in the midfield when he joined towards the end of last season (we were very short on numbers). But we've now actually added to the midfield, he has some company and really shows some nice touches, works hard to keep the ball and just keeps play moving. Scored an absolute belter last week too. A very consistent player so far.
I’d agree with that. Looked a player at times last year but had no support so like Broxburn struggled big time.
This year been really good with some quality midfielders in beside him. Needs to work a wee bit on his decision making (tries to do too much at times). If that gets sorted he will be outstanding for us.

The home keeper had a save from a header from a corner in the first half and when the number 7 was clean through near the end. If one of those chances go in it could've been a more nervous night for the home team.
Yes a fair summary of the game but it was littered with errors by both sides. the above two saves came at crucial times and as you said could have made it a different night.

Finally a cleansheet! A nice win today, two lovely well taken goals and all in, a quite comfortable evening... the only real chance I can think of Penicuik having was the result of a mix up at the back.
It's been an unbelievable start to the season for us and nice to see us up on top on our own (well at least until Jeanfield play tomorrow)
Yes good to get a clean sheet tonight. Not a great game but two good goals and top of the league with 5 from 5.
Tough game on Saturday away at Sauchie (not got a great record there recently) but team seem to be finding a way to win so feeling a wee bit more optimistic than usual

I took a trip up to watch them today. Their 3-1 win was more comfortable than the score might suggest. Hit the bar and the post in the first half and the Loch Ness keeper had 4 or 5 great saves.
Kind draw in the next round too

Couldn't make it up for this one... so had to find something a bit closer to home!
Great to get the win again... and good to hear plenty chances are still being created. Hopefully it continues, but 3 from 3 is a tremendous start for us.
Really made it difficult for themselves and could easily have dropped a point. They were hanging on a bit in the last 5 minutes of a game they dominated completely for 55 minutes and even for a long spell at 2-1. Need to be more clinical as Luncarty to there credit kept going.
Nice wee ground and fans.

Didn’t manage to get along to the game last night. A great result at a difficult place to go. Heard the penalty was soft at best? Also the red card appeared to change the game.
whatever, 2 from 2 is not to be sniffed at considering our struggles last season.

Totally agree with that. No doubt Glenrothes will cause issues for a lot of sides... hit woodwork twice against us and missed one sitter. They'll be disappointed to have lost that game, but reckon Broxburn just did enough and created more chances.
It's gonna be a tight league this season.
I think so too. If you get around 60 points that may win it (W18,D6,L6). Think the previous winners have all had 70+ points

It was a bit of a struggle but not as close as the score suggests. Missed chances without 5 starters including all the normal midfield 3.
To be fair Lesmahagow were better than expected and were pretty clinical with there chances. Into the next round is all that matters.
