Looking forward to the start of the new season for a change. My prediction for this years title is shock horror Sauchie. However from what I’ve seen Broxburn (my own team) May run them close. Best of the rest I think will be Jeanfield, Crossgates and Musselburgh.
To go down will be far harder to predict. Could be any 3/4 from 8. My pick for bottom 3 are Kinnoul, Swifts and HoB.

Looking forward to our trip to Broxburn. Definitely not the easiest opponent we could have had, but it could also clearly have been worse. Should be a good game. With us being in such a local league I look forward to the cups even more as we get to go to other places, I reckon we can take a fair few down to Broxburn.
I agree Lochee will not be the easiest opponents for us but as you say it could be worse. Think it will be a pretty even game having seen Dundee North End twice in the last few years. Should be a good crowd too so looking forward to it

Cracking wee afternoon of football... enjoyed the two B-teams playing off for 3rd place... not too much between them.
But main event... and an excellent performance from Broxburn against one of the traditional big sides from our level. A proper feisty wee match with some meaty challenges, a red card which I completely missed the challenge for and a couple of great 2nd half goals from Broxburn to win it.
Nice to keep the Broxburn trophy in Broxburn.
Straight red for dissent.

Well done Broxburn for winning their tournament with a 3-2 comeback win over Pollok. Despite an early goal for the home side, Pollok hit back with two in as many minutes to go ahead and dominated the rest of the first half. However, a complete transformation in the second half saw Broxburn dominate, score two good goals, and deny Pollok any chances at all.
Very encouraging performance from Broxburn today. Could have folded in the first half but didn’t. Looks like we could be one of the teams to beat this season .

75th Anniversary Cup Semifinals today served up a couple of cracking games.
Despite both losing, I was impressed with both the B-teams - far better than I expected them to be... usually just see some powder puff wee ladies, but both were quite physical, strong sides and a couple of players on each that easily look like good prospects to keep an eye on.
Broxburn started disastrously against Livi, giving away a cheap penalty. Took quite a while to get going after that, but by the end we were looking very good breaking down the wings with some nice little triangles to pull the defence around. Kept a good tempo and really matched the full time opponents well. And another couple of trialists that look quite decent too.
Looking forward to the final tomorrow... but Pollok will be a tough test. They looked strong against a well drilled and very decent Dundee Utd side - they had enough chances to win it in normal time.
I do like these wee tournaments... always a chance to see some different sides in a relatively competitive environment.
Yes two good games and looking forward to tomorrow

Very good result today. More pleasing is the clean sheet. Not much too complain about. Even the pies where tastier today
Encouraging performance but only preseason. Need to do that when it matters

Is everyone forgetting about Crossgates & Dundonald? All I hear is Sauchie, musselburgh and jeanfield.. Time to broaden your horizons
No both decent teams and anyone wanting to win the league will have to be wary of them. I think they do suffer a bit from there being a lot of Fife derbies.

what an idiot.
Not really I know you didn’t have a great season last year like Broxburn (who I watch), but fully expected you to be putting in a challenge to Sauchie, Jeanfield and Musselburgh this year for top spot .

Not sure about Penicuik, they seem to be letting a lot of players go/losing a lot of players just now... but agree with the others being main contenders. Possibly Haddington too.
For me, the games I've seen (ie... both preseason so far) the midfield looks a lot stronger... thought last year we just always seemed short of bodies in there. Agree we still have a couple of lads, particularly at the back, that may need a BUPA package, but we do seem to have a bit more cover for them this season.
For me... a good season would be comfortable top half, closer to the title challengers... 5th would be something solid to build upon, anything higher a bonus. A decent run in a couple of cups would be nice too.
I think Sauchie will be the team to beat next season. We struggled big time in midfield against fit young sides rather than established sides. A couple of signings we have made should improve this. We were desperately short of a left back last year and at this level you get punished at this level for any weaknesses. Big difference is this management know what they want. I feel that was half the problem last year. I think 5th is not beyond us but we need to be at it early

Dunipace new signing Connor Kelly looked lively upfront for Pace.
Always liked him at Broxburn. Was a big miss when he left.

Thought it was a decent preseason kick around. Pretty good and competitive first half. Second half, Tranent looked a lot better. Allason Jones was almost unplayable when he came on... and what a cracking free kick to put them ahead.
Plenty rustiness on both sides and looked like an early run out... but was a decent game.
Any ideas who the Broxburn trialist was?
No idea who it was but if it was the right back he was decent

First chance to get a look at Broxburn this season. Encouraging signs but early days. Tranent good value for their win. Best of luck to both sides this season.

agree with Marooneye, few very decent signings so far, predict it will be a far happier season at Broxburn this coming season.
Hope so. The signings last season also looked decent to begin with but just never got going.

Another decent draw for Broxburn. Good to get a local Derby and maybe the only one of the season. Will be tough as Whitburn will be out for revenge for last season’s cup defeat .

Nick Locke - Bo’ness
Ben Davidson - Linlithgow
Out
Euan Henderson - Crossgates

He'll be a miss at Newtown. Very good player.
Yeah he was outstanding for us in his first spell. A huge miss since he went to Newton

While other sides are announced new managers and new signings, it's all quiet on the Broxburn front... but I see an end of season award for the match programme!
1st place for Scottish Non league category at the Soccer Club Swap Shop awards.
Well done to all involved.
Everyone on holiday I think. Plus a number of players are on two year deals. Expect a number of signings b4 preseason.

Escaping notice in the general melee of recent days Vale of Leithen were deducted 3pts for failing to raise a team against Inverkeithing in late March; and Broxburn 1-4 Haddington at the start of this month now awarded 1-0, after the visitors fielded an ineligible player. Former no effect on placings but Vale suffers the ignominy of ending the campaign no better than they started on 0pts; while Broxburn rise above LTHV to finish 9th and Haddington drop below Jeanfield + Penicuik to finish 7th.Tad embarrassed as a Broxburn fan to have taken 3 points from Haddington when we were spanked. I know rules are rules and everyone has to abide by them but that’s the second time this season we’ve not really deserved anything and taken 3 points in both games.

Good game, albeit Crossgates seemed to be struggling to get a team out, as you expect for a nothing to play for game, last game of the season.
Player of the season? I would say Andy Gillen. Steady, reliable in every game he's played. Gary Brass 2nd.
Yes good performance today. Felt a bit for Crossgates as they were really hampered by injuries and ended up with 10 men. Gives me renewed optimism for next season .

As someone who goes to most Scotland games I hate it when big(ger) games get scheduled on International weeks, in fact I think half of our committee will be in Cyprus in September for the Scotland game (Friday night) with no chance of getting back in time for our game that weekend, which I guess could be problematic.
Mind you, our designated "derby" this season was......Jeanfield Swifts!
With no Lithgae and Blackburn in the Premier wonder if Broxburn will get Jeanfield as the designated derby .

Centre halves have been our main problem. Harrison left, and looking how much slower he was getting, probably a good decision. Wright has never got match fit, picks up the worst injuries. Nimmo is injured a lot. Brad seems OK, but has been in and out a lot. I'm hoping he has a good next season. But I just hope they sign players who aren't injury prone or coming back from injury. A settled defence is key and who are available most the season.
I think Brad isn’t good enough now. Looks like there was a great defender there at one time but age has caught up with him. Drops 5 yards deeper which causes problems for the full backs. Left back has been a huge defensive issue with Gordon being out a lot.

Was at the Broxburn game and Glenrothes gave a real good account of themselves. Broxburn just deserved the win but if they play like that all season they will win a lot more games than they will lose.
