  1. I’ll be completely honest, I always wanted James McPake to be successful and up until very recently thought he might turn things around. He had credit in the bank after winning the league and then last season with the injuries, however that’s gone. He’s well and truly at the arse-end of the overdraft now. I don’t see any change until the club has changed owners but who knows. Some of the stats comparing him to Yogi and PG’s spells are very concerning. Thirteen league games played, two wins, eight losses, ten goals scored and nine points gained from a possible thirty-nine. Absolutely dreadful.
  2. Not bothering with this one. It's exactly the type of game we just lose, Hampden will be a soulless, empty tip. QP on a decent bit of form, fully expect them to have three points come 5pm on Saturday.
  3. I didn’t think we played badly yesterday but we also didn’t play well. Also performances don’t really matter right now, it’s all about points. Of a possible 36 available, we have 9 which is not acceptable. I don’t want to see a manager fail. I won’t go into games hoping we lose so a manager gets sacked, however I don’t think James McPake is going to succeed with us and I think a change is needed. He’s not getting the best out of this group. The pasting of Livi midweek has bought him time. I’d be shocked if James McPake isn’t given until at least the Airdrie home game in a fortnight. That way he gets QP away on Saturday, the midweek SPFL trophy quarter final against Alloa then the very important home game against Airdrie on the 16th. That being said, we know how the club operate in these scenarios. Very reluctant to pull the trigger, even when operating normally. The club are currently up for sale, I wouldn’t be shocked if James McPake is here until that goes through, unless we’re cut adrift at the bottom by say six points. In an ideal world, new owners come in before Christmas. There’s a managerial change if things haven’t improved and there’s some sort of budget available in January for a new manager.
  4. Amazing what a win can do. I think tomorrow will be a trickier game than Tuesday's game. I think Thistle have better attacking players than Livi and of course have Brian Graham who always seems to score against us. If the same players that battered Livi on Tuesday rock up then I think we can win the game, but fully aware that it'll be tough.
  5. Aye it was at least worthy of a yellow. Martindale said in his post match that he thought it was a penalty.
  6. Not looking for finer details but has anyone heard anything, wee rumours about the sale of the club, potential buyers etc? I think we'll have to be rock bottom, cut adrift by say 4/5 points before the current lot decide to make a change. I can't help but feel that Airdrie and the Rovers will start to kick on and put a couple of results together. I just cannot see us doing that. The second half on Saturday gave me hope but not enough.
  7. I can't comment on what was said because I don't know. It wouldn't have been nice, friendly feedback but I'm fairly sure it also wasn't OTT. They made their feelings known to the directors box and now they're banned.
  8. Always like a midweek home game, gives something to look forward to during the working day. Less so 90% of the footballers employed by Dunfermline Athletic. Things are pretty bleak at East End, almost a mirror image of last season although this time around the manager doesn't have the excuse of missing nine first team regulars due to injury. Based on form and squads, tomorrow's game isn't really a game we're expected to win so should we fail to pick up any points, I think McPake will be fine. I've only seen Livi in the league opener and we left at HT to get a pint in the shopping centre. Nothing great, but they have good individual players and obviously a decent winning mentality, very consistent. We'll not get battered and we may well make a fist of it but I'd be betting on an away win. McPake was asked about Chris Kane on Saturday post match, said he was hopeful he'd play tomorrow which means he'll be out until about Christmas. Hopefully he does play, however he's not the answer to our goal scoring problems. However, he does add better striker play. Depo looked pretty good on Saturday, wouldn't be shocked to see him start ahead of Matty Todd who does not look fit.
  9. Yeah, something happened after the home game against Falkirk earlier in the season, couple of fans made their feelings known about the lack of a backup goalie and just poor management of the club. Within a week or so they all had letters through the post, informing them that their season tickets had been invalidated. No refunds. AFAIK all three appealed the situation but it was rejected by the CEO and stadium/security manager for the club.
  10. Some have been doing that this season and found themselves on a season long ban from East End Park. I know of three at least.
  11. I was glad we didn’t just fall to pieces yesterday. The way things have been going for both teams, I fancied Falkirk to get an early goal, and if they did we would crumble. Chris Hamilton won’t enjoy watching those highlights back today, although on another day he could have scored two at the right end as well. I thought we were poor in the first half yesterday, Falkirk were pretty comfortable and deserving of the lead at the break. Second half Richie-Hosler puts a great ball across the six yard box just begging for some form of contact and Craig Wighton was holding off looking for a cut back. Just f**king throw yourself at it and you’ll score. After that McPake was furious and rightly made three changes, three players who probably should have started. I thought we’d never score, so was happy that we applied some pressure towards the end and made it uncomfortable for Falkirk. On another day we could have taken a point if not for some good last ditch defensive clearance’s but wasn’t to be. That’s the story of our season, we almost scored as opposed to scoring which just doesn’t stick anymore. For us, I hope the sale of the club can be concluded soon, so that the necessary changes at management level can be made, allowing a new man to make changes in January. Thankfully both Airdrie and Raith are equally as shite so we’re not cut adrift. On Falkirk, well worth their place at the top of the tree. Solid squad, players who know what they’re doing. I don’t think you’ll be league winners come May but playoffs 100%, and think you could do well there. For whatever reason I think Livi are going to shitfest their way to the title. See you lot in the season of festivities.
  12. I don't get paid weekly, however I do get paid on the 25th of every month unless it falls on a Saturday or Sunday, then I'd be paid on the Friday before. I know a few others who're also the 25th. My wife is the last working day of the month.
