  1. Season not even finished yet and I feel like I'm refreshing Twitter and P&B every 15 mins or so. My heart nearly jumped out my chest yesterday when the club's Twitter re-tweeted KRH's tweet, so it looked like they were mentioning him. I feel we've a lot to come over the close season. Initially re-signings and our new kit manufacturer, new strips, new signings, fixture day. Can't wait, this time last year things were really bad, about to get worse. What a difference a year makes!
  2. FWIW I think Falkirk would be mad to bin McGlynn if you don't get promoted this season. I know it'll sting but there's a good chance he get rid of any deadwood still at the club, makes more of his own signings and you guys go on to win L1 next season. Say you don't go up, it's going to be one of Arbroath, Accies and Cove that come down. All three are smaller clubs, smaller budgets etc and I wouldn't fancy any of them going straight back up. And who's going to come up, Stirling Albion. Mix that with the rest of the middle of the league teams and I think Falkirk will win that division, If Airdrie go up then you won't have them to deal with either. Change the manager and it's back to square one.
  3. Didn't realise just how young our group of four strikers actually are, McCann only 21, O'Hara 24, Wighton 25 and Todorov 26. I genuinely thought Wighton was about 28/29, feel like he's been around for ages. Still years to go before these guys are at their athletic peak.
  4. Aye one thing that could be said about our wing backs is they all have the ability to put an excellent cross in but regularly over hit them. MacDonald had a bit of a nack for finding Todorov's dome but again could be down to good movement from him
  5. Mixed bag. From the season starting to December I couldn't think of us playing without him, he was the guy that always looked like he was going to create. Early 2023 he was in and out, sometimes just from the bench, got binned at HT against Clyde, only got a minute from the bench the next week and then binned at HT away to Airdrie the following week. He's been in and out the starting 11 but certainly featured a lot less this side of Christmas. He did start our crunch game Vs Falkirk in March and very nearly opened the scoring on HT but was subbed only 10 mins into second half. There's 100% a player in there. One thing I'l say is he always wants the ball, will carry it well. However, his light shined a little less as the season went on and guys like Matty Todd, KRH, Chalmers, Hamilton, McCann all really kicked on, goals, assists and general more influential performances. Say Dundee Utd stay in the Prem and we were offered him again for another season I think I would take him, because he's only going to improve. However, if you're asking is he ready to feature for Utd in the Prem next season I'd say no. If you guys were to go down then I wouldn't be surprised to see him used regularly.
  6. Would't say he's regressed, if anything I'd say he's became a better defender, having Bene next to him has been great. He had to slot in at centre half last season under PG and it didn't work, however when he's done it this season he's been absolutely fine. Part of the defence that's held 23 clean sheets this season, defending better, still getting forward, popping up with the occasional goal, can't really see where the regression is coming from?
  7. Aye that's right actually, Mochrie has been adding the old tracky backy to his game. He's actually rapid with the ball at his feet but we're so used to seeing him through the middle where it's a bit more congested.
  8. That's absolutely gorgeous! I've said it a good ten or so times on here this season but I now have shares in humble pie. I said we would win nothing with a midfireld of Todd and Chalmers and I was so wrong, Matty has went from being a local lad, neat footballer but more of a squad player who was being played out of position to becoming a bit of a star for the club. McPake must absolutely love him, if you remember last May after we were relegated and McPake came in he was in the club meeting staff before pre-season and Matty was doing laps of the pitch with the sports scientist. McPake went out to speak to him and basically was like what are you doing, are you mad . What a role model for young Pars fans, same with Chris Hamilton. On separate news, hopefully we'll here something about who's re-signing and who's not this week. I'm hopeful that the guys out of contract re-sign but will also miss the loanees, it's been a great group this year. Daily Record ran a report last week that Rhys Breen was about to sign, I reckon Comrie will definitely sign. I don't know why but I have a feeling Deniz is on a packet and may go elsewhere, I'm sure he'll have suitors after this season. That leaves MacDonald who I'm unsure about, McGowan who I think could be useful if he fancies another season, get him pre-season and see what happens, his ability is still really good but just doesn't have the legs. I have a feeling he's going to re-sign O'Hara and not re-sign Todorov. I'd be shocked if both are with us next season, less shocked if none are with us next season and could easily see us keeping one of the two but who is the big question. I'd personally keep Todorov, offers something different to O'Hara, I think you can get plenty O'Hara types but not always a Todorov. Would anyone be interested in any of the loan players? Obviously KRH is the dream. Mochrie had such a good start but dropped in and out of the team and since we beat Falkirk in March he's featured mainly from the bench so don't think we'll try to get him again. Otoo is a funny one, can look genuinely rubbish one minute but can also do something great the next. I personally don't think he's ready to play regularly in the Championship and would play behind Bene, Breen, Fisher, Murray (if they sign). He looks more like a left back, could come in as a challenge to Edwards. Mahon genuinely impresses me whenever I've seen him play, has lovely touches but still a bit raw, unsure if he's ready for Championship football however.
  9. What’s the craic with Shaun Byrne mate? See he’s not featured much but aware he might have had an injury etc?
  10. Glad I’m not the only one who thought the invasion was nippy. I might be sentimental but I just thought of all the potential class team photo opportunities in front of the North West that didn’t happen. They actually brought a Cinch Winners board over in front of that area so that the players could get photos with SNW in the background. Sod it, I’m sure when we won in 2010/11 and 2015/16 if there had been pitch invasions after getting the title I’d have done it then, certainly did it at Greenock
  11. Might be an old man here (31) but anyone else think the pitch invasion was annoying as f**k? I’d sooner have had the players and their families do another proper lap of honour. Just felt what should have been a good moment was lost.
  12. Aye I thought that too, expected him to get the call when it came to number 15 and they were also announcing his new two year deal at the same time . He came out when the introduced all the members of the back room staff.
  13. How hot is that fucking graphic btw? Sad to see that the finance option has gone, I hope that doesn’t put people off as it’s a big chunk of cash in one go, especially for a full price adult and the absolute bollocks state of the world, cost of living etc. I personally used that option last season but had been putting away each month for next season but I’m sure others would have been planning to use it again. Suppose the club have said they’re looking at an alternative supplier.
  14. Sam Fisher was in a Pars tracky and got a medal today. For me that’s a big indication he’ll be with us next season, I mean the medal is a nice touch but wearing the tracksuit tells something else.
  15. I totally forgot about 2016. The day we won the league that season was pretty special as it was unexpected. We all thought Peterhead would beat nearly relegated Cowdenbeath so when Cowden got the win we'd won. Great day, El Baktaoui hatrick. Town was bouncing that night. The day we won it at Cappielow in 2011 was incredible. Huge buzz and build up, roasting hot, massive away support and just a great day with mates. I would have been 20/21 and it's up there as one of my best as a Pars fan. Mate of mines knocking the door at 8am with a bag full of Buckfast and beers before a quick walk through the public park to get our minibus from East End. Norsman bar all day, win, on the pitch and a huge party in the toon that night, I think I was in most pubs and about 3 different house parties. Stumbled home about 5pm on the Sunday, oh the glory days without responsibility Funny though, I don't really recall the trophy day on both occasions. I remember being there and the title presentation but not the night after etc.
  16. Aye it was my first ever game, the day we got the trophy in 1996 I would have been almost 4 and a half. All I remember is being momentarily lost when we went through the turnstiles into what is now the Norrie, the helicopter bringing the trophy flying above the stadium and getting a McDonald's on our way back into town, before getting patched off at the Grandparents so our parents could go out on the lash and join the celebrations.
  17. Looking forward to it but it's not the same as the day you win the league. Must be some craic if you end up winning the league on the last day of the season so have the euphoria of winning the title and getting the trophy all at the same time. Was some buzz in the City a fortnight ago when we won it, and tomorrow will be party mode but I don't think as big.
  18. I haven't felt this Invernessian since 30 May 2015. All the best tomorrow Inverness Caley Thistle!
  19. Didn't realise your connection to Amarillo went back so long. Absolutely love the song, mainly due to Peter Kay, unfortunately tinged with sadness now
  20. Think it's odd that we've appealed O'Hara's red. Two meaningless games left, he's out of contract and if I was a betting man I personally don't think he'll be getting a new one but who knows. As mentioned above, we must have some concrete evidence that the officials got it wrong because if not it's a huge waste of time and potentially money.
  21. He's a handful but only now starting to show the finished article, although still a lot to learn I'm sure. Came through the youth and was a pretty natural striker. He's been introduced by Stevie Crawford to the first team and looked promising as a sort of wide forward playing off Kevin Nisbet. Then in the closed season he absolutely smashed the gym, came back huge and it's really helped him. He's pretty good with his head, can be a bit gung-ho and should probably have scored more this season had he a bit more composure but he's getting there, also had a few injuries to deal with this season which kept him out a couple of months at a time. The last few weeks have seen him play wide and his link up with Wighton and Matty Todd (who also came through youth with him but wasn't in the squad yesterday) has been really impressive. He's the younger brother of Ali McCann who was at St.Johnstone for their cup winning double before joining Preson North End (I think) so there's talent in the family. He qualifies for Northern Ireland too due to one of his parents so he's featured for the 21's etc which is a bonus and gives him more experience. Big Yogi came in and played him as the main 9 ahead of guys like Todorov and shipped Wighton out on loan to Arbroath which was surprising but he did grab a few goals under his reign last season. I think a good pre-season and we'll see him a regular in the starting 11 next season. All the best to you guys in the playoffs, couple of good ex Pars boys with you so I'd like to see you come up, even if just for them. Fordyce & McCabe were part of one of my favourite recent Pars seasons, the last time we won L1 in 2015/2016. And also I'd really enjoy if Falkirk didn't make it because well it's just funny isn't it
  22. They’ve done more against us than your bunch of shite the beds have. I’ve seen all Pars Vs Falkirk/Airdrie games this season and Airdrie have been better than Falkirk consistently. Will be lovely to see them sign you up for another season of L1 jobbies x
  23. Aye definitely play Mackie at centre half, he got out jumped by King Richie-Hosler who must be 5ft7.
  24. If I was a betting man I’d say home win given the jobs done and how blootered some of the players were up the toon on Saturday night. However, I genuinely think he’ll want to keep it to one defeat if we possibly can. Airdrie the only one I’m concerned about, I think we’ll beat Clyde next weekend on trophy day, I imagine they’ll have done enough to secure 9th place by then so they’ll maybe not be flying in the same way they will in their playoff game, just like Alloa the following week, I’m sure they’ll have one eye on their promotion playoff. Would take a draw the now but similar to Weegie Par, if we lost I’m not overly bothered as the job is done.
