Out if curiosity if we were able to take any 1 player from any of the SPFL to improve our side, who would you pick. For me it’d have to be either Brian Graham or Nathan Austin.

Genuinely surprised and delighted to have signed Ethan, and going by his interview, he's certainly 'buzzing' to be back. After a quiet transfer window and much disappointment expressed at not spunking the playing budget bringing players in to bulk up the squad (or make up numbers), this just reiterates this threads oft-used phrase: In McGlynn we trust.
Assuming there's no money left now for the Andy Carroll deal though...
As long as there’s funds for a 3yr Tumilty contract, I couldn’t care.4 -
Genuinely laughed at the suggestion we would sign him recently, didn’t see him wanting to come and even more the thought of us paying the development fee i seen reported a while back.
Fair play for the club putting its money where its mouth is.
Even more gutted i can’t make it onSaturday now.1 -
Can't argue withanything he says in this, pretty much was a routine win and defo a penalty on Mitchell, probably a pen for Tait as well.
Definitely not a pen for Tait. Pure stupidity from Tait to go down when he was through on goal.1 -
I think our only options right now is the free agent market (those without a development fee) or to recall Keatings which I think would be even more embarrassing given how he left.

There's a few factors to this. Firstly, the challenge cup is a fodder tournament after the colts were introduced. In terms of the Derby, its still a game I want us to win but it's not a game I'd get hugely excited for. Its nowhere near the importance of the Derby against Dunfermline.
Realistically its the only cup we have a chance of winning and we’re yet to face a colt team since their introduction. I don’t think a club of our size can afford to think we’re better that it. I think other’s opinion may be somewhat different if we weren’t playing ICT (no offence Elgin) in the next round.0 -
Won't be there and think it might be a sub 1000 crowd.
It's the diddy cup and I've tickets for Scotland vs Israel. Throw in that we've got our actual derby against the Pars in the league and it means this is just an asterisk in the season. The games against East Fife only held any relevance when we went on our decades long unbeaten. After that game, I've stopped bothering with this fixture.
Fair enough if you’re going to the Scotland game but to say you’ve stopped bothering about a fixture simply because we don’t beat them every time makes me wonder why you don’t just support one of the old firm. Its this mentality that had me laughing at the big team bringing a couple of hundred to Starks simply because they’re rank rotten. Personally i’d go to every game that I can make regardless of our form but each to their own I guess.1 -
You never want to see the Rovers lose but this game is definitely one I couldn't care less about.
Give a few of the squad game time and hopefully Musonda can get some minutes under his belt even if it'sas a sub. I'd start Poplatnik too to try and get him another goal to possibly start a streak.
Im sorry but this isn’t a midweek game and momentum is everything in football. I want us to go into every game looking for a win, especially against one of our local rivals (regardless of their size). The Ramsden cup final was an amazing day and i was gutted that our final with ICT was written off. A couple of changes expected but I wouldn’t welcome a large rotation from last weekend.0 -

Dear John Sim,
Scrap signing another forward that won’t score anyway, put every pound in giving Tumilty the best and longest deal possible.
Yours, entire Raith support

Gullan was best later upfront or behind. His shit games was when he played wide.
Don’t know if I entirely agree with that. If we get him again (and its a big IF) then i think him up top but switching position with Zanatta throughout the game would give us more fire power and keep opposition defences guessing who to pick up.0 -

That should really help get the punters through the gates.
40 minutes I wouldn’t imagine would impact many people coming. The game was always due to be on TV, Dunfermline is only 15 minutes away. The lack of attendance will only be down to Dunfermline’s poor form.0 -
Mcglynn said he'd brought in 260k in transfers. With Bowie being 150k, tait was sold for 110k unless he's sold someone else I'm forgetting about.
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t we get £10k for MacDonald?0 -
No idea what the much hinted at incentives are. Could be a bag of used balls for all I know. Going on the 100k alone, I think it’s selling the club and player short given his potential and the length of contract. Given the current player situation at the club it feels very short term thinking rather than investing in building something. Just an opinion based on a leaked figure. Might be the best deal ever. Who knows?
Its not the McManus days. Whilst it’s speculation I would imagine the incentives would include so much based on so many appearances, goals, assists, international appearance, sell on %.0 -
Without loans and frees that’s 1 in every 5 transfers disclose an exact fee. That’s ‘plenty’ in my book. It’s not rare.
The fact is that the overwhelming majority of deals are undisclosed. That doesn’t mean its a bad deal, just parties choosing to keep finances private. Bare in mind some clubs HAVE to announce fee’s as they’re on the stock exchange so you’d likely see more undisclosed if this wasn’t the case.0 -
It’s undisclosed, so we’ve no idea if it’s a good or bad deal. Going on the leaked info from Hibs then it looks a bad deal, but then that could easily be wrong. Maybe I’m a cynic but If it was a great deal for the Rovers, I suspect we’d hear about it either officially or unofficially.
We pretty much know the deal anyway undisclosed or not. I think we’ll have to agree to disagree but i think £100k + future incentives is reasonable fir points I’m almost fed up of listing.0 -
And if we go down this year which is a possibility then the£250k will disappear down a big hole. I am a bigger picture kind of person but some of the signings and things we have done this summer is bewildering to say the least, all I can say is Will the real James keatings please show up and soon
Covid may swallow some of it but if it’s coming off the balance sheet whilst remaining competitive then I don’t have a problem with it. As for Keatings, we seem to be hearing more about the knee specialist than the one from ICT.1 -
But IMO it compounds it as the squad is poorer, I don’t think tait staying is a good thing as he is a hibs player now, that’s where his head will be. Hopefully I’m wrong
Who knows but he’s now a Hibs player on loan with is, much like Gullan was. He fought to prove himself and didn’t shy away. I can only hope and believe Tait will do the same.0 -
How exactly am I talking pish? I said plenty of deals have a price tag had a fee attached. Which they do from the unedited list Zen linked to. Yes, plenty are undisclosed but these two facts are not mutually exclusive.
Fair enough but the point I’m trying to make is that just because it’s undisclosed, doesn’t mean its a bad deal like you implied.0 -
I’ve no problem with the reality of life as a smaller club. It’s Sim acting the big man and promising folk top tier and European football whilst selling key club assets that’s the problem. Yet another club owner driven by ego.
When did Sim promise top tier or European football? He stated it should be an aspiration and theres no reason that has changed. Cast your mind back only 3 years ago. We’re in league 1, failed to get promoted with a average squad and limited fan engagement. Now we’ve just come off the back of finishing 3rd in the Championship, playing great football, sold 2 players totally £250k + incentives (given the fact we rarely got a fee for anyone before and both these players cost is nothing). The club is moving in the right direction, and yes makes mistakes but we’re all human and forms part of reason we support this club. Sometimes you just needs to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.0 -
But we haven’t so far re invested it and from what I hear we aren’t going to either, plus we have a lucrative cup game v Celtic this month so the timing of this deal is what gets everyone and the crappy PR this summer and imo poor recruitment
We haven’t had a chance to reinvest the Tait money, nor should we rush.
I do agree that the summer recruitment was somewhat poor but this deal doesn’t impact that.1 -
Want you continue cutting and pasting just the undisclosed and ignoring the plenty on that list with a fee attached? If you wish. Regardless, Tait has a fee reported from unofficial sources. It was £100k. Why would someone lie about the fee? Especially someone from a Hibs source? Of course it could have been £250,000 or half a million. We’ll never know.
I’m merely proving you’re talking pish. Whilst there was a few that had a fee, most were undisclosed. I’m not for one minute doubting its £100k, prices often get leaked but the official stance has to remain silent for contractual reasons.0 -
We need to bring someone in, we should have brought someone in better than BRS when Hendry left, the scenario of selling tait will have been talked about if all summer I’m sure so it makes our recruiting look even worse IMO this year. Yeah tait is still here till January in body but will he really be in mind? If not he is a liability then and the club even more stupid for allowing this to happen. Really taken a few steps backwards this summer as a club
If anything this will surely give Tait a boost. He can stop worrying about trying to earn a move and focus on impressing Jack Ross.0 -
Plenty of deals this transfer window with a price tag attached. Rest assured, if this was a great deal for the Rovers, we’d be shouting it from the rooftops. It’s clearly not which is why I suspect we’ve opted for ‘undisclosed’ and the leaked figure is coming from Hibs sources.
Correction - plenty of deals come with a speculated price, pretty much most are undisclosed.
Takehiro Tomiyasu [bologna - Arsenal] Undisclosed
Connor Roberts [swansea - Burnley] Undisclosed
Nikola Vlasic [CSKA Moscow - West Ham] Undisclosed
Jack Hendry [Oostende - Club Bruges] Undisclosed
Eduardo Camavinga [Rennes - Real Madrid] Undisclosed
David Mitchell [Clyde - Hibernian] Undisclosed
Scott McMann [Hamilton - Dundee United] Undisclosed
Giorgos Giakoumakis [VVV-Venlo - Celtic] Undisclosed
Want me to continue? Undisclosed doesn’t mean its a bad deal FFS, it means that one or both parties are wishing not to disclose which can be for a number of reasons. One reason being that the selling club can be held at ransom for a replacement knowing how much cash they’ve just come into.0 -
Don't bank on it, I watched Cowdenbeath give up a 1-0 lead to lose 1-2 last night, Bollan had no idea that there were subs on the bench.
I reckon Coulson and Mahady could be bit part players at Central Park.
And thats fine if it turns out to be the case. Arnott however appears to be getting much more game time and at a higher level not that I’m saying an apprentice needs to step in although I’m sure we all hope they could.0
