Was a good enough run out. Played some nice stuff at times particularly in the first half. Cammy and Matty were terrific at the back. Lyons looked really good. Think he will turn out to be a great find.So how things go today for those of us away?How's the young striker from Stirling Uni looking? Or young lad from youth Set up see he came on.

Would be very suprised it he was remotely interested. He loves our club and at the end of last season he said it was just the start of the journey that he and the club was on. Fully expect him to see out his contract to 2021 and hopefully beyond.He is being mentioned as one of the favourites for new Alloa manager position as Goodwin goes to St Mirren1 -

Agree, still need to get another centre half in. A fit Matty at the start of next season is like a new signing.Still a bit short at centre back unless I've missed something whilst away. Lack of height particularly and still with a ? over the fitness of Matty. I really hope Matty is fit, he's a great lad and would be a big miss if his injury persists any longer.
Looking forward to the Formartine game on Saturday - hope we take it seriously even if we do use most of the squad over the 90 minutes. We need to hit the ground running even in pre-season. Maybe see a couple of trialists ?? Even a loan signing ??

Hell yeah we did! A defence of Steeves, Dillon, Allan and Ballantyne is very strong. Hopefully they can all stay fit for the whole season.It's going to be tough for sure but we did well last season and the squad is settled. A new face up front with 2 who haven't featured much due to injury/loan I don't think we are in to bad a shape.
Concerned a little about the age of one or two but let's see how we go.
At least we have a full squad training unlike some in this division.2 -

Maybe good getting the 2 full time teams early I guess with the Airdrie hybrid model week 2 as well. They've had a big turnover of personnel so need time to settle in.Very tough month of August but to be perfectly honest every month is going to be tough month this season. I am still very confident that with SP as our manager we will survive in league one for another year.
I think we have the basis of a strong squad but I think with two of three quality signings to come we will be in great shape.

Quite young and not got a lot of experience. I reckon SP will be after someone a bit older. He will want to do as well as Arbroath and Forfar did last year. They had the best keepers in the league in McCallum and Jamieson.No never heard any names.I would think we would be in for Kyle Gourlay just released from Dundee and local.0 -

They then won the league despite not being expected to. They were then predicted to finish bottom of the league and get relegated. They absolutely should celebrate getting into the play offs. Had it not been for Stephen Dobbie then they might have gone up.
I really don’t think we should be looking to slag any club especially Montrose who are one of the best run clubs in Scotland.Thank you for your kind words. Couldn't agree more and thank you for reminding other fans of our rise!

Expected Jammer to head to Cove. Reckon he will do a great job for them. Natural born leader who will give everything for the team. Had a great couple of seasons but maybe a good thing so that SP can bring a bit of youth to our ageing midfield.
Big boots to fill for the new midfielder I assume we will bring in.

First pre season friendly is Cove away on sat 6th July. Really hope we get Ross County at home in the cup so that we get St.Johnstone away, that would be a decent away day to start off the season.Looking forward to pre-season friendlies being announced. Hope for a Highland League side I haven't been to yet and I could do with a couple of days away up there AND IN SUMMER, not the middle of winter as usual. Might be away at Dingwall in the Cup but that's not what I mean, been there, done that and don't particularly relish that yet again. Hope we get them at home this time and St, J away for a change.1

After seeing the first couple of friendlies i think our defence will be very strong. Steeves, Ballantyne, Allan and Dillo is a great back four. If SP can bring in a solid centre back we can play 5 and get the best out of the two wing backs.
However I am concerned about up top. Lyons looks a player but time will tell. McLean really has got a lot to do to impress me. Half the time he doesn't look arsed and for the size of him he doesn't get himself about enough. I really think we lack a proven centre forward who can bang in the goals.
