Everybody’s pre-season training is on the deck though - no team practices hoofing it. Unfortunately in the heat of games we all too often took the easy option.

As above with a winger Or 3-5-2 with Matthews deeper on the right in place of Watson and Buchanan up front? Would mean no winger but do we need one with the lack of height in attacking areas? Maybe Smith is going for fast-flowing fitba on the new surface lol

I've got a Rega RP3 and I have to manually change the belt too. It really is no hassle at all! If you have a set budget then a switch should be one of the things that gets jettisoned for the essentials These manufacturers put all efforts and resources into the best materials for the price so any stuff not absolutely core to the reproduction - like a 33/45 switch - gets binned. I'd much rather have a better tonearm/cartridge, or stiffer brace between tonearm and main bearing where platter sits than a switch that adds more electrical interference The more involved we get playing vinyl, the better

Think some people forgetting (or just not witnessing) how good Sampras' serve/volley game was. Nigh on impenetrable at times. And it's not as if he was shite at the baseline either But yeah it's so difficult to compare players from different eras because you're not just looking at say, Murray and Sampras' achievements, but also their opponents to get there - it's a minefield
