Dunfermline and Ayr should be a bit better than Livi and Alloa but United replacing the **** has made the league easier IMO. I expect us to get more points than last season.
Problem for us is, we didn't actually do too badly against Rangers so in order to increase the total we need to be better against other sides. As you say, the others have gotten better.

I think we can all agree that Houstie has done fantastically well so far in getting the most out of his squad. You just have to continue wondering how his recruiting works. See, I'm not a scout but just through talking to football fans at the pub you'll here names that would be considered less "lazy" than some of the stuff he comes out with.
Bloke at Elliott's that was over from Ireland told me about a winger called Andy Hall (if I remember right) at Glenavon who got loads of goals, Billy Kee down at Accrington was involved in about 30 goals over the year (15 goals/15 assists roughly).
Are they any good? No idea, but there must be folk out there that can do a job in the Scottish Championship.

Probably best playing a diamond midfield with Sibbs at the top of he's not gonna play with wingers.
Would be extremely one dimensional (through the middle) on a bad day, but certainly more effective on the whole than what we've shown so far.

We're both out of our respective cup competitions already, poor start for the two star teams of this league. Sure we'll both bounce back!

That's what we're left with though mate. There's nae mair money and we've lost the two guys who scored our goals and injected the energy into the side. Midfield is all one paced and of similar stature. That's water happens when you replace quality with inferior products I'm afraid.
You're not wrong pal..
I for one would fancy a team of slightly inferior players in their right positions up against one with better players out of positions. It's the reason why Sibbald out wide has never been a treat to my eyes.

Terrible performance, we need to be looking at how players perform together.
Put Miller next to a fast striker up front, get a stronger man next to a more creative player in central midfield. We seem to have multiple of the same player type in each area of the pitch. Also perhaps buy a pacy winger so we can go wide when the centre of the pitch is clogged. Not worried too much for the season but easy to see where we can improve.

Really enjoyable, hopefully we'll see another 3 in the second half.
Had just as much of a grab on Leahys shirt in that case. Brainless refereeing. Glad it's not the league.

Who are these wonderful, exciting players that you suggest exist? And if they're so brilliant, why the f**k would they come to the Scottish championship to play for Falkirk?
Thank f**k someone follows that line of thought! Just registered purely to comment on the madness that this thread brings up regularly. Not an Ex-OneF-poster btw, been reading here for a few months now to catch up on news.
This myth that a fantastic signing would improve our season ticket sales is highly doubtful. We're not in the market for Messi and I don't see half of Polmont scrambling for a ticket to see even a top signing like Gary Mackay-Steven.
On that note, I think theres been a severe overreaction to GMS and Henderson on the last couple of pages. Would they sign? Almost certainly not, but are they wildly unattainable and laugh us off the phone? Probably not. Henderson has played in this division just last year, so logical step would be a loan to lower Premiership team. GMS will also have better offers than one from us.
So who are people seeing that would drastically improve us? A loan from England? A lower league scottish player? A lower league (league one or lower) english player for a 100.000? The latter would probably be the best way of creating value for a future sale..
Whether we like it or not, the times that "big teams" are in this league are almost up so we might as well use it to attract players whilst the Championship has a better than usual status. We need to be out of this league before Hibs and Dundee Utd have deserted it.
PS: Would love to chuck "a few hundred thousand" at Faissal just to take the piss.

Wait, what? I've ignored it so far and theres no need to take it much further after this, but: That first line is the ultimate train wreck, congratulations! You cheated in order to move on, not moved on from cheating.
The last two lines I fully reciprocate/agree on! Should be a couple of crackers we have in store, let's see what comes of them. Christmas Eve will be a fantastic wee trip.
