  1. 100% agree that the 3d/4d scans are amazing and certainly worth it if you’re in a position to get them IMO. Got a load of pictures, some of them we never thought much of at the time, but looking back we can definitely see the resemblance.
  2. I liked him also, but I’d say his strength is that he’s a great all rounder rather than being spectacular at one particular facet of his game - which gives us an opportunity. Our style of play went downhill when we relied on him as our creative outlet through the middle, in contrast to having a baller like McLean in there and more games turned into midfield shitfests which didn’t help us. Definitely not just his fault, especially because we could’ve looked to sign a proper 10 to help him, but it does mean we can revisit the balance in the middle of the park and think about how we can nail this, which we’ve never really done since Fergie arrived.
  3. Our wee boy was screaming for hours and hours on Tuesday. His wee scrotum was swollen and he was spewing up regularly. Turned out he had a hernia, got into the Queen Elizabeth in Glasgow the same night, got an operation to fix it and he’s all good. The difference in him is amazing, he’s so much happier now. Because of where it was, his testified took a bit of a dunt and there’s a chance it might be redundant as time goes on. Shouldn’t be an issue though even if it comes to that, still able to have a normal puberty, father children and generally be a shagger like his old man! Doing great other than that, Today was his due date, home now with me and his mammy.
  4. Years and years ago my old boy saw a young lad get walloped by a tram - my old boy ran to help him and his pal. Life moved on. until one day he was doddering about the transport museum and bumped into the same two lads by one of the old trams they have in there - they were out celebrating 60 years palling about together that very day, which was coincidentally the exact same day he got walloped by the tram. Unfortunately, my old boy passed away the same day after getting run over by a bus. Found in the road with a flat tankard next to him. RIP.
  5. Worked in a call centre for a mobile provider years ago, was blethering away to the boy next to me about fitba, and he was talking about players Celtic should sign and mentioned Irish international Kevin Doyle who was at Reading. Within maybe half an hour of that conversation, a call came through to me from Irish international Kevin Doyle who was at Reading.
  6. Good to hear things are looking up mate - that must’ve been a horrendous few days but It’s amazing how resilient they are eh? Can relate to the breastfeeding issue - my wife has always been of the mindset of “give it a try and see how it goes” and she’s had her ups and downs over the last couple of weeks when breastfeeding. He’s got all the colostrum and a lot of early breastfeeding which I’ve said is already great, but the wee man can be latched on for over an hour, seems to feed and is still hungry, which really upsets her. I find it to be a bit of a challenge too, because my (male) logic says “well let’s just give him formula” given it’s worked well also, but there’s definitley something at play which makes women a bit more emotional about being able to breastfeed. When we’ve gone back to the formula she’s always crept back into going back to the breast after a day or two, it works, then she gets worried and the cycle starts again. Other than that he’s doing great - was 5lb 1oz the other day so as much as he’s tiny, he’s putting it on!
  7. Susan Boyle would’ve been an upgrade on Woods, in all honesty. See what happens but hopefully the competition keeps Joe on his toes if nothing else.
  8. That Derby keeper sounds absolute shite. Decent recruitment so far but the GK search has strong vibes of a wild goose chase.
  9. He needs to let the prawcess take its course. Appearing again at the first hint of fan goodwill for months and months isn’t it (although cheers for the £££)
  10. We can probably do without various NHS gobshites like Jillian Evans mouthing off every time there’s a rise in cases, which we’ve seen is absolutely to be expected and in line with all of the epidemiological waves we’ve seen so far.
  11. Congratulations mate - our wee boy arrived on Saturday too. 4 weeks early and just 4lbs 13oz, but he’s doing amazingly well. His mum is an absolute star, they’re both still in for observation and it’s not till I get home myself every night and get the photos out when the sheer joy of it all fully hits me and I get very emotional. The birth wasn’t made easy unfortunately, the staff in pre-natal just kept throwing pain relief at her (waiting 45 mins for paracetamol was a highlight) and ignored the regularity of her contractions, even when they were a minute apart, and progression of labour . She was in a lot of pain, knew things were happening and we had to almost beg for a doctor, but once we were in the labour ward the staff there were brilliant, as they currently are in post natal. The overwhelming feeling is joy though. I miss them both, but I’ve told her to make the most of her time in hospital - having on hand professional support is going to be great for them both.
  12. Met Russell Anderson a couple of times - once when we played in Maribor and he was very chatty and interested in us, where the good pubs were etc. Then another time a few years later at a Hall of Fame event when he was aloof and distant. I was a lot more pished the second time which might help explain the difference.
  13. The insecurity is an interesting point and tbf something he’s acknowledged himself on his Open Goal interviews - very thin skinned and takes criticism personally.
  14. Cowan doesn’t know how to handle it when he’s faced with addressing things like this in blunt terms in the way that Cosgrove put it to him today - he knows he’ll get shit from either side and dragged into whataboutery. If you ignore it or divert away from it as he did today, then it comes across horrifically. Condemning it would’ve taken 2 seconds.
  15. I got it fairly bad throughout school for having glasses and being relatively wee - it never really got physical but the school/town were small enough for me to get stuff shouted around me for what felt like every time I left my house, even on my paper round. There was no dread like the dread when I saw one of the worst perpetrators coming towards me, knowing that you’re about to get shit. Even when I made news pals and had a girlfriend, it was embarrassing getting stuff shouted at you. These days I’m very conscious of trying to make sure everybody in my mates groups are included/invited to things and I’ll pull people up if they’re being dicks to people unnecessarily.
  16. Our wee bundle of joy is due in 8 weeks - getting a growth scan tomorrow as the bump is measuring bigger than expected, so looking forward to seeing what the story is. Also started hypnobirthing sessions this week. Really positive and think it’ll help both me and the wife relax a bit.
  17. Zero covid nutjobs who can’t accept it’s over be like:
  18. The issues are possibly more nuanced and complex than many might think given inflation is 1% higher in the Eurozone than it is in the UK.
  19. I can see why they do it - there’s plenty amongst us who’ll mouth off on social media about parties that they don’t like and express amazement that anybody could vote for them, and political leaders then try and tap into it, because they think it’s a vote winner but in reality is a very lazy and entitled approach to take. The issue is that a lot peoples political activism starts and ends with social media, but most of the electorate don’t rely on Twitter etc to make their minds up. You then end up getting the election results and then people are amazed that reality doesn’t match what they see on their cherry picked Twitter feed.
  20. Must have used Scotrail most weekends this season, drinking on almost every journey and an overly officious conductor has said something maybe once or twice in total. The 18 months thing is bad wording, if it’s the same as what I read earlier. The ban has been on the go for 18 months and it’s continued (or “extended”) into ScotGov ownership. Even if they keep the ban, it’s not really an issue in reality.
  21. Exactly. Jillian Evans from NHS Grampian clearly fizzing today and farting out made up, arbitrary timescales of “at least 5 days” that people should stay at home for. Not surprised in the least that NHS pen pushers with an inflated sense of their own self importance are now undermining the new guidance to suit themselves.
  22. Not saying that he’s the only difference, I’m saying he’d have made a difference for us - probably making the top 6 and thus looking at Europe again. Could look at a couple of others who we’d happily take, but the lack of a big and effective striker this season has arguably been the biggest factor in us being unable to change it up when circumstances have required that.
  23. Wouldn’t have needed to, we were literally a goal or so away from the top 6. No way an effective second striking option wouldn’t have been of benefit,
  24. If we signed the lad Simms instead of Hearts we’d be looking at potential Euro opponents right now, and Glass might even still be in a job. Our problems are vast, but the margins are very small given how tight the league was.
  25. I’d actually find it more worrying if it went to very small levels of mask wearing straight away - would be a sign that too many are dependent on government messaging and need their hand held. Probably preferable if the remainder come round in their own time, without it being based on Sturgeon clicking her fingers, and when people work out for themselves that the threat is minimal.
