  1. " If the existing board had followed this policy after the previous board’s fiasco, there currently wouldn’t be an East Fife.Their substantial financial input and the sale of land saved the club.It seems a bit much not to back them now ." I'm not sure what point you are making - I made no reference to any policy. I simply pointed out that the existing owner could make a contribution to help the club in these circumstances. That has nothing to do with what I agree is the good work by the current board. As far as backing them now I've just done that by making a couple of suggestions. I'm also a shareholder who doesn't see why the owner of the club shouldn't contribute too.
  2. The majority of the shares 102,000 or so are owned by Bayview Fife Ltd whose sole director is aged 51.
  3. It may be worth considering an early sale of season tickets. I know that simply delays the problem but it would help cashflow from now until the end of the season. At the same time the club should get its creative thinkers setting up income generating activities that don't involve physical attendance at events. I'd be very reluctant simply to contribute cash to a "Save EF Fund" unless there was a clear commitment from the majority shareholder Ms Twigg to contribute too - at least on a matching basis. Although the club means a lot to us and the community it is still under the private control of an individual and if she can't make the effort to help save her own asset then why should the ordinary supporter
  4. Disappointing especially after a 2nd half that we dominated. Poor finishing and some really poor final balls - I counted 6 that were overhit - meant we didn't really come close to scoring. Didn't have a clear view of the penalty so won't comment. Need to nail Montrose next Sat, especially if they win on Tuesday. Still in the mix for playoffs though.
  5. I suspect that if look back you'll find most EF strips have not featured black and gold stripes.
  6. When you make defensive errors such as those two we made for the Clyde goals and when you miss several clear-cut chances you can't complain when you lose. Aside from that the officials were truly woeful today - for both teams.
  7. Just listened to the John McGlynn interview and I certainly learned a lot He told us that attitude is important, that there is football in TV and people who are interested in it can watch the football on TV, and that the crowd can be a twelfth man. With insights such as those he is truly Renaissance Man.
  8. Airdrie thoroughly deserved to win because they wanted it more and had s clear coordinated plan for attack. 1st half we hit aimless punts from the back; 2nd we hit aimless crosses from the wings. Never looked like scoring. Poor/lack of misfiled play but most of all team were 2ndyo every ball and few players looked interested. Other factors in our defeat included an inability to pass to a team mate and a referee who missed a foul for the 1st goal and was conned into giving a penalty for the 2nd but even without that Airdrie were by far the better team.
  9. Truly awful display from East Fife but BSC thoroughly deserved their win. They kept going even when 3-1 down whereas we displayed a lack of commitment which combined with awful defending, a wheen of misplaced passes and an attitude that suggested our players just had to turn up meant we deserved to lose. We need a top display against Clyde on Tuesday or this could be the start of a plummet down the table. Best wishes to BSC in the next round and let's hope you get a rewarding draw
  10. I don't know who you are but I do know you're no supporter. No-one who claims to be a supporter of any team should describe a young player in such abusive and meaningless language I suggest that if you ever come to Bayview you identify yourself to the manager and player and express your view directly to them though something makes me think people like you would run a mile rather than do that
  11. It was the previous comment by KK I was referring to. I try to avoid pasting long quotes
  12. Some overeaction here. Today's performance was certainly not "horrendous". The defeat was self-inflicted in the sense we missed several chances and gifted then their goa. But it certainly wasn't horrendous as we created lots of chances and in the first half in particular played lots of attractive football. The amateur managers on here simply confirm they've made the right career choice.
