very strange indeed, almost identical posts yet a gap of 2.5 years. What is going on here?
Not sure but it might spark a debate on the plural of bus.

We should just walk off the pitch. Blatant cheating.

I still cannot understand how Scotland even ended up with VAR. If anyone in charge had listened to 5Live, it was constant angry callers saying it was last. I wish it would be binned from all football.
I had thought it was because without domestic VAR Scottish officials would be unable to referee in international competitions. But it appears Swedish refs are still able to get those gigs, so that can't be the case.

Larry Lloyd the big centre half who won the UEFA Cup with Shankly's Liverpool then 2 European Cups with Clough's Notts Forest has died aged 75
The first name I can remember seeing that started LL. Thought it was a misprint in my Panini book.

I noticed it but thought Fleeting was a bit tenuous.

Actually a decent shout. 116 goals scored while playing in an absolutely dreadful Scotland team. If only she was 15 years younger

Pretty sure Jim Clark has a statue in a wee obscure village near Cupar.
Although it might be another racing car driver.
One for the Where am I thread I suppose.
He has an excellent museum in Duns.

Granted it's a bizarre accent, but he's a native of Stirling....

Pity it wasn't the Moroccan team bus.
Funnily enough we passed them on the same motorway the day after the game. Not sure which vehicle's occupants looked more gutted between theirs and ours.
So even if the Moroccans had forfeited the game we were still going home too soon.

Great streak, my best is 61, currently on 18.
Cheers, I doubt I'll break it, even if I did starting from tomorrow it would take until August

I remember in France for the 1998 World Cup, driving up to Lyon on the A7 we crossed a bridge and noticed a whole section of the parapet was missing. There were no cones or emergency vehicles around so I assumed it had just happened.
Got hold of a paper the next day and there was a photo of a lorry lying in a river about 100 feet below a motorway bridge. My limited French was not required

Yip, fair point
That said, someone born in England supporting the opposition at Wembley will probably be doing so due to their ancestry rather than the club they support. I think that is likely to be unique to Scotland.

only in Scotland will you find people born here supporting nations against us....madness.
I'm sure it happens in loads of countries, England for starters.

I was only there last night because I have bought the five match package and after that game am seriously considering whether to just go for the individual matches in future and avoid any friendlies (especially ones that see the Govan songbook brought out).
It seemed the flattest atmosphere pre match that I have seen in a while and I feel that the SFA missed a trick in not reducing prices for this game to get a full house. The fans have spent plenty recently on tickets, travel & accommodation for the summer and it would have been a great gesture to give the supporters reduced admission. The best seats in the stadium (South Upper) were not even available for sale and that section was empty last night.A few of my mates took out the 5 matcher (as I have previously) but when this fixture was announced I had a feeling it would be an awful experience on and off the pitch, so was happy to save 30 quid and sacrifice the SSC point.

Indeed...insanely optimistic, cheerfully deluded, and if you think that wriggling out of the group (which we won't do anyway) would make this Scotland team better than the 1928 Wembley Wizards or the 67 or 77 Scotland teams then that's an opinion alright..
In 1992 we finished 5th at the Euros.

Yip, totally agree with this.
It's a year since we beat Spain and there's a good argument that we've been in decline ever since. That win in Oslo was tremendously exciting, but it wasn't deserved; it was absolutely freaky. It was the decisive match in qualifying, and we made heavy weather of it from then on, even before this run of friendlies.
The rogerings from England and France weren't pretty, but at least mealy mouthed excuses were available. We've run out of even them now though.
We look like a team that's past the peak, similar to Scotland at Argentina 78, although if we were to get the same results as then we'd probably qualify out of our group.
