Squad so far...
GK: Neil Parry, Craig McDowall, Andrew Wilson
DEF: Scott Taggart, Frank McKeown, Andy Graham, Darryl Meggatt, Jim Goodwin, Ryan Hoggan?(not seen or heard anything about him so far assuming hes still around)
MID: Jon Robertson, Steven Hetherington, Alan Cook, Iain Flannigan, Kevin Cawley, Adam Martin, Garry Fleming, Jim Goodwin
ST: Craig Malcolm, Kris Renton, Garry Fleming, Declan McDonald
Going off that squad I'm going to guess we'll need at least one more defender for cover.

Preseason: Starts Thursday
Friendly: The impression I was given it won't be until July. Stirling first then St Mirren the week after.*
*obviously still not officially confirmed so take that with a pinch of salt.

Jason and Holmer both sign for Albion Rovers too!

Do we have room for Spence with these two strikers? Do you think there's a chance he'll be at Dunfermline next year? Hoping himself and Waters(or an alternative left back) sign next then we I'll be pretty happy with the team. All that'll need to be added is a bit of depth mainly at the back.

Someone (Scottishfootballnews1 ?) tweeted that we are about to sign Calum Waters. Might be pish. Anyone heard anything?
Feel like I should DM the guy that Ian Black is signing for us to keep the long running joke going.

Calculating the chances is it easier to get St Mirren promoted or keep dundee in 8-5th in the premiership?
There are more plaudits to winning the championship than doing that though and Dundee aren't a club likely to have a progression past middle table anonimity.
Not sure Jim would be offered the job but if it was dominoes then Darren Young's still out of management. Sure he'll be back in Alloa at some point in the future.

See told you we'd have a squad by the end of the week. Didn't mention it was a 5's team though

Kirky away to St Mirren. My squad is getting thinner by the day

Aye right enough I'm pleased he isn't going on holiday for 4 weeks before deciding to sign players. I am convinced the poor recruitment got us relegated.

Will we be getting a statement from the club with the full list of departures/contracts today?
The manager will know. The secretary will know. The rest of us will find out once the paperwork is signed, sealed and delivered. So how long is a piece of string?
Hope Greig's back next season losing his goals would be massive. Wouldn't surprise me if he's holding out to see what else is on the table.
I'm guessing there'll be more meetings tonight and on Thursday which is why I said by the end of the week we should have a squad.

Tbf most of the games I missed were after Christmas.
If Marr and Holmes leave then it really will feel like an end of the era of the club that's spanned over the past few years. We'd still have Kev. Sadly when he came back I don't think he's hit anywhere near the heights he was at when he left. Still a useful player though

Taggart was probably one of my players of the year from Christmas onwards. Won't be many better part time right backs around I doubt.
I'm chalking up the first leg defeat to Taggart getting caught on his heels though but yeah some great moments from Christmas onwards too.

The business will be done again early this season. Expect there'll be enough to make a squad by the end of the week.

10th and 13th May for semi-final. 17th and 21st for the final. Following the established format we'd be away for the first leg of the semi. Winner of our semi would be at home for the first leg of the final.
Think we're home if the league 1 team wins against the championship team on the 21st.

Guys, I'm looking for any goal of the season types that are on someone elses highlights.
I got a call from a guy from PFA Scotland who's looking for 4-5 incredible goals for their dinner at the beginning of May for each team and he asked me for Alloa's. So mainly the away games as I only started filming at home on the 29th October and I've been to a grand total of 2 away games although I've compiled almost all the goals in the last three months into Goal of the Month so ignore them.
If you remember a pearler on the road I can have a look for them or a link to highlights would be ideal.

It speaks volumes about the strength of our squad this season that we've got a 20+ striker and some think a defender or midfielder is our player of the year. Andy Graham is my own player of the year.
I would second that. Spence is my no.2 though.

You guys know what this means....Well technically we've already broke the curse since we won after he was given it. Unless the curse is after the SPFL announces it.

You guys weren't messing around when you said you were thin on the ground

You're going to laugh but last month I took a phone call from "Ronaldo" looking to sign for us. Free agent phone calls are the most awkward.

Yes I agree. any footage of the QP game ?
Nah I gave it a miss probably I'll leave the away games to the home teams if they do decent highlights. I only went to Albion Rovers because they don't do their own and its fairly local. Might ask to go to Livingston. Apart from that I'll just be at the Indodrill.

The team was in at the park so no. Tommy Farries could have been though.
