  1. Sorry - still seething - surely with ticket allocation - and Rico mentioning the abuse coming from around the family area - then they will able to deduce where the abuse came from. (I am assuming he is speaking about the seats that were taken up by players partners and families near the front of the Jackie Husband stand.
  2. Like the other guys have said above - ashamed and angry. Woke up this morning after a good result against Alloa to read this. Feel kind of sick. Disgusting, intolerable behaviour that drags the club and the good supporters down. I was at the game with by boy and didn't hear anything being shouted from where I was sitting. And if I had (I am sure like others), then I would have called the idiot out (I am being kind by using the word "idiot" and biting my tongue here) But lets be clear - the person who shouted abuse to Rico - is not an Airdrie fan, is not a football fan and shouldn't be welcome at Airdrie. Hopefully the culprit will be found and banned from all football games. Happy to get to my feet on Saturday and chant "Rico" for a minute for solidarity for the boy.
  3. "Maybe Murray was just enjoying the fresh AYR....." Are you suggesting Murray is moving on?
  4. He was sitting behind me with his wee boy. He got up and said "he'd had enough" and then with the wee fella in tow, stormed away. Next thing, he was having a spat with someone in the directors area - assuming one of ours. He then stormed away but it looked like he was going to be huckled by security on his way out. Feel sorry for the wee boy - he looked really upset.
  5. Played some nice football today as well - which was a bonus. Hopefully we can kick on from this.
  6. Well deserved 3 points but made it difficult for ourselves. Could have had 5 or 6. But not complaining.
  7. I know you were only out to bait, but think this is hugely ironic given as Dumbarton FC facilitate Rangers and their Colts in their bid to sneak into the leagues - which I may add, I hope fails miserably. Did shake my head when I saw the big Rangers scoreboard under your stand on Saturday. But there you go. Must be desperate. PS If only we played like Malmo with 10 men... PPS Assuming Goldson must have watched a clip of MacLean going down on Saturday...(lets not start that one again....)
  8. Chicken Currie- loved it when Max lifted the "injured" McLean up. Daft as a brush goal keeping at its best.
  9. Words failed me when Easton wasn't subbed on at half time - and then early in the 2nd half with Kouider-Aissa's injury. Wildly wrong decision by Ian Murray. Easton is the kind of player that can potentially change a game - and at 1-0 he should have been on the pitch to try and change it. To wait until 2-0 was criminal. 1-0 we were still in it - and if we get an early goal the players (who were all round keech) might have picked themselves up and it could have been a completely different game (comebacks - see Raith v Hamilton today.). So yes, Ian Murray can collectively blame himself, the staff and the players tonight but he holds the biggest percentage of blame - he sets them up and he makes the changes. Am away to have a beer and to try and forget.
  10. Dependent on injured/unfit midfield players coming back next week and (hopefully) additional signings , I would have McDonald as right wing back - dependant on formation. It's the boy's natural position and would give a lot more to what we are getting just now. Today was poor and exposes the need for additional signings to come in as at least decent cover.
  11. "#BringJackMcKayhome" - not even in jest..... nothing would surprise me - this is Airdrie we are talking about!
  12. So do we fill the squad full of jobbers to achieve squad numbers or wait (hopefully) to get the last few signings that will make a difference and for injures to clear? I want a strong squad - and that means bodies on the bench that can change/alter a game when they come on. Thats why I am willing to wait. As I have said before - Ian Murray has had 3 get out of jail cards - 1st season he inherited a team that wasn't his, 2nd season cut short because of covid-19, 3rd season , ditto the covid-19 interruption and possibly a team that "wasn't his" with the increased involvement of the director of football until his departure in February. This season - its his team, and he has no hiding place if results don't go our way. For me its, way to early to judge and to criticise Hopefully there are a few signings upcoming to strengthen the squad, the injures clear and we do well - but as a fickle football fan, if things don't work out so well, I'll be moaning like the rest of you.
  13. The trialist (15) that came on as a forward in the 2nd half was Gabby McGill - was with Dunfermline and loaned out last season to Edinburgh City. He looked way better than the other trialist striker that started Saturdays game and came on for the last 10 today - i.e he could hold up a ball, control it and pass it and get into reasonable positions - but it was a low bar to jump. Don't think any of the trialists stood out at all.
  14. https://www.edinburghlive.co.uk/sport/football/hearts-linked-kyle-turner-sights-20668496 No surprise there. Hopefully we get our hands on a similar talent for next season.
  15. Turner and Paton seemed to be the catalysts for the good run - what a difference the talented , confident moany wee shite (I mean that in a nicest possible way) Kyle Turner and the established old head of Paul Paton in midfield made. Seemed to give a boost to the others in the team. Josh Kerr, Max Currie, Gal and Leon McCann coming onto a game at the same time and Dycey being his usual composed self helped as well. Injuries and questionable selections meant we didn't do ourselves justice in the final, but what a great last few games - putting Falkirk to the sword and the Cove 2nd leg being highlights for me. As for next season - well Ian Murray has 3 get out of jail cards - 1st season he inherited a team that wasn't his, 2nd season cut short because of covid-19, 3rd season , ditto covid-19 and possibly a team that "wasn't his" with the increased involvement of the director of football until his departure in February. I am guessing that he will be given another season . And at the moment I am ok with that( bearing in mind I am a fickle football fan.) So, if he does continue, hopefully his relationship and stature with a few of the important players in the current squad will keep them with us, that he can sign a few impact players that will make a difference like Turner and Paton and finally he gets himself a strong assistant to work with.
  16. Well done boys. Hat off to Ian Murray - Thomson for Carrick - the manager wasn't thinking of penalties. He wanted to win the game. And Thomson exploited that tired Cove defence. Well done to Gal and to Jack McKay too. Finally, hope young Kyle Connell is ok. Great team effort boys. Away to calm myself down.
  17. Well done Ian Murray and the boys. Just keep it going for another 4 games!
  18. Just a whiff of Bjørge Lillelien's famous 1981 commentary after Norway beat England 2-1 from Mr Davie there. The most professional commentator regarding impartiality when commentating on their team must be the great Arthur Montford when he commentated on Morton games -he was so impartial - the closest I have seen Arthur showing his emotion being when Andy Ritchie (what a talent) scored a free kick against Thistle. "A Ritchie special. An Andy Ritchie Special!" - and then he calmed it.
  19. That would be delicious. And if we could win the play offs as well..... The good thing is, we are the form team now just like Thistle were. And its all about momentum. And we have it at the moment. That result today is a preverbal boot in the baws to Cove. The record of scoring every game at home is gone, and Hartley will be questioning his resting of players ala Man City. But even when he brought on his rested players we still were all over them like a rash - so that gives him food for thought. Falkirk - they must have run out of clean sheets the number of times in the past month they have shit the bed - so unless they pump us on Tuesday their confidence will be fragile too. As for Montrose, an honest hard working team, but if we were to face them and we play like we did today, you must fancy us to win. As for Morton, the are on a run of poor form and now without their captain for two games - so they wont be looking forward to the play offs. So, all we have to do, is keep it going...but then again we are Airdrie - its never that straight forward. But lets believe!
  20. Great result. Great confidence booster as they didn't look great shakes at the end with their strongest 11 on the pitch. Paton outstanding - him and Turner so solid, Dycey and Josh Kerr calm and collected at the back, wee Leon putting in a great shift and two good goals -brilliant. But the whole team did well. And they don't score at home for the first time in in 25 games. Big boost for us. And Falkirk get pumped as well. Happy days!!! Big difference between today and the last game with Cove- we had a midfield today. What a difference Turner and Paton have made. Onwards and upwards. Going to enjoy my beer tonight!
