Queens scored a great goal against Cowden at CP some years ago. Can't remember who it was but it was from the halfway line. Hope that isn't repeated today.
Stuart Kettlewell straight after you had equalised in our last win at Central Park. Unless I'm getting my games mixed up he was sent off later for swearing at the ref!

McKinnon is signing all these young players for league 2. Are they better than what is there already. Grant, Slater and Maclean are good signings but the rest leave me uninspired. Young boys with no experience especially of L2 football. I was excited about going pro but 30 of a squad for a L2 club is embarrassing. The players that are being left out are basically been told they have no chance of playing.
It's taken you four weeks before you started complaining about the new manager. That must be a new record, even for you.

It was 0-3 last time at Hampden if I remember right. Not to be biased, but I honestly don’t see that happening again. I’ll wager that’s your best away win of the season?
As long as we get the team lines correct this time then we've got a chance.

I think players from both teams lost it to be fair, and the ref completely lost control of the situation, which is a shame as I thought he'd been reasonably good, penalty incident aside.
Highlights will be interesting as I didn't see what Hill did to deserve his red card.
Both clubs charged with not conducting themselves in an orderly manner by the SFA after this match, hearing tomorrow.

So what was difference from the previous round? Simply, how our team was set up.Also, we were playing a team who were determined to win as opposed to a team who thought they just had to turn up to win.

Sod Rangers, it's about time we had VAR in D2! Can't have big Glasgow clubs like Queens Park getting dodgy offside goals all the time!
Unless VAR can move one of your centre halves five yards up the pitch then you're barking up the wrong tree.
Thoroughly enjoyable today. One swallow doesn't make a summer but good signs today, much more organised.

go with someone until May to simply keep it basic and keep you up like Chapman who wasnt a good fit for my club even by his own admission at his first fans meeting but overall done well with Annan each season.
If the plan is to go with someone like Chapman then we are f*****.

He was great for the team. It was like having a coach on the park. He was constantly getting the other defenders into the right positions.
He brought Ricky Little on leaps and bounds.

Third game in a row we haven't turned up for the first half, need to get it sorted pronto.

Nicol was possibly lucky not to have followed him on a couple of occasions and the disappointing thing was there was not a rash tackle in the game.
Was that your number four? Agreed if it is, launching the ball into the stand when it's gone out for a throw isn't the wisest course of action when you're on a booking.
Inconsistency from the ref as well as he booked another Stirling player ten minutes later for the same offence, although that player had only tapped it a few yards away at a free kick.

In decent form and receiving both the manager and player of the month during the week - what could possibly go wrong?

What was with Salim's hands to the ears? Was he getting abuse? I know ex-players like to do it but I expect the vast majority of QoS fans would have had no clue who he was.
Don't think it's a QoS thing, he did the same when he scored a brace against Brechin a couple of weeks before.

I am reluctant to respond because I really dont want to sound like sour grapes. Without a shadow of a doubt the team that deserved to win won, and did so pretty comfortably notwithstanding Murray's late goal. But if that was you NOT wasting time I would hate to see you do it!
If Gus was still in charge it would have been ten times worse!

Meant to ask last night what are the rules of the game surrounding the use of the match ball? In second half each ball boy had a ball and when ball went out of play they would throw ball back they were holding to speed up the game. The ref and Queens Park players insisted the 'match' ball was used. Do you have to the use the match ball all the way though the game or can you use a multiball system at teams discretion? Are there different rules for different competitions - sure at International matches they use multi ball system? I realise if ball goes out the stadium then another ball can be used
Assume the issue was that QoS changed from a single ball to multi ball at half time, think you have to use the same system throughout a game. Presumably the thought was we would be wasting a shit load of time in the second half, we didn't really have to.

I may be entirely wrong about this, it wouldn't be unusual, but I think we can offer professional contracts now that the vote has gone through, or will be able to do so soon. All players are still on amateur contracts now though.
This. I was being a bit facetious, the change to the club constitution went through a week past Thursday, so from that point we were no longer an amateur club, although as Chester says, all current players are still on amateur contracts.
First pro contract will probably be offered to young Regan Thomson when his youth contract expires in December, but that's more to ensure the club are compensated if, as expected, he declines the offer and turns full time ( Newcastle currently being mentioned in the press).

Queen's Park are now professional
At danger of being whooshed, yes we are and have been for a full ten days.
Seen us pull off a few shocks over the years, but not one that was so comfortable. As mentioned by the QoS fans, I expected a real hard time in the second half but we never really looked in serious danger of being pulled back.
Well done to all the players who put in a shift and a half.

Might of missed some obvious choices but unsurprisingly a lot players were part of the worst QP team I’ve ever seen back in 13/14.
That's a bit harsh on David Gold I think. Sent in on loan to the worst team in the land he could have said no thanks, but he got stuck in and I thought he did ok, even though he was shunted to right back at one stage.
I would have Grant Mosson in his place. A handful of instantly forgettable performances, last seen getting hooked at half time at Berwick before he was sent off and never heard of again.
The mere mention of Lucas Birnstingl's name sends a shiver down my spine. Undoubtedly the worst goalkeeper I have seen play for QP. However, if you look at his Twitter page he sounds like some sort of goalkeeping guru. Last seen being beaten from the half way line at Stirling, he repeated the same trick for Montrose the following season before flying back to Canada in a cream puff the next day, thankfully on a one way ticket.

Didn't realise we were playing a bunch of choir boys yesterday.
Cox didn't need any winding up from the Queen's players, he was on a different planet from the off. There were no QP players winding him up to launch a tirade at the referee after his yellow.
If we ever manage to beat Cowden again god knows what they will be like if that's what they're like after a win.

Reading the comments from other fans on Twitter, looks like we’ve lost the sympathy card with many but who would want to be the club that everyone feels sorry for.Quite honestly who gives a toss about sympathy? How many players did that help to keep, how many people did that get through the turnstile and how much cash did it bring into the club?
A bit fat zero to them all I suspect.

Big majority in favour, surprised at just how big. Was expecting it to be close.

Stellar journalism from the Evening Times...

"But in July, owner Gerry Crawley spoke of the harsh realities facing the squad as a number of players were allowed to leave for no fee."
Another stellar reporter thinking we're going to hand out full time contracts if the vote goes through. No doubt copied straight from the BBC website, that seemed to be their only source of news going by the recent documentary.
