  1. I'll be honest with you, the last person I want to hear about this from is Santa himself, because he will not be telling the truth my man.
  2. So just to get myself back up to speed having had some pals play for Pennies in the past: - Santa ran Pennies and after merging with another amateur team in Falkirk, they basically took on the name Syngenta and entered the pyramid. - Santa gets cabin fever and pulls the funding out of Syngenta half way through a season, meaning the club couldn't fulfil contracted wages and have essentially folded. - Santa is appointed DoF at Camelon (basically he's approached Camelon to be a benefactor, and said he'd fund things if he's made DoF?). - Santa fires in money and signs the now free agent Syngenta players, and the club pretends Syngenta never even existed when announcing their arrivals. That's fucking superb, even for Camelon. Is the manager still in place?
  3. I never thought I could be this apathetic about Clyde. An absolutely terrible feeling.
  4. It’s 100% a trial period with a view to taking over next season. There’s no way Swift would waste his time being an assistant otherwise.
  5. Stephen Swift has been appointed Clyde assistant manager until the end of the season. To me, it seems like this is essentially a trial period and if successful, he’ll probably take over from Duffy next season. Seems like we’re not content with taking sub-par League 2 players, we’ve now expanded into managerial appointments too. Any positivity from here at all or are we talking abject failure? Seems like he put a decent squad together this season and it just hasn’t worked?
  6. Despite the obvious dip in his performances, I definitely agree Parry has been made a scapegoat. If he makes a mistake, it's a goal (most of the time). He's 37 now and a sharp decline can happen - that doesn't take away from the fact he's probably been the best part time goalkeeper in Scotland for the past decade and deserves far more respect from our fans. It doesn't help that he has had next to no protection from his defence, and I'm not sure there are many goalies that would fare much better with the likes of Lyon, Thicot, Balatoni, Scullion, Kennedy, Mortimer, Hendji etc in front of him. That has made Parry's drop off look a million times worse.
  7. Wullie Muir is available - I'd love to just nip the Parry issue in the bud and try and get him in. Unless obviously there extenuating circumstances but it looks like he left Alloa due to lack of game time.
  8. On the whole, the January arrivals are of a higher standard than the players that have left, so that's nice. I agree that we're weak out wide, but playing a formation that suits the players may negate that. Wullie Muir is also now a free agent, so if Parry continues to nosedive I'd like to see Mullen punted and Muir in. Pipe dream though. In my opinion, the starting line up should be: Parry Hynes, McGeever, Sula, Craig Cuddihy, Roberts Salkeld Cunningham, Rennie, Doherty
  9. No brainer for Peter Grant too, leaving a team on the verge of relegation to sign for a team challenging for promotion - fair play to him!
  10. Agreed, but it makes sense that Duffy would want someone he trusts to be the anchor of the defence. McGeever and Sula as a pairing seem like a potentially decent match.
  11. It makes even less sense when you consider our league position and how handy Duthie would be in our starting line up. Duffy is a lot of things, but he doesn't strike me as the type to indulge in nose cutting and face spiting.
  12. Wouldn't be like Clyde fans on here to talk absolute shite
  13. Agreed. I shudder to think what next season will be like. I also think we're now beyond the point where any manager worth their salt will see us as some kind of 'project', if that makes any sense. When Danny Lennon came in, we had a decent L2 squad and were misfiring, so the potential was there for improvement. We're just on a downward spiral now. The time to change the manager was at the end of last season. We'd avoided the relegation play offs by the skin of our teeth and needed a whole new squad. That's a potentially attractive situation for a manager to walk in to. A replacement for DL should have been sounded out when we were approaching the end of the season and the change should have been made as soon as the final whistle blew on the last game. Instead, we gave Danny Lennon a new deal and allowed him to build a new squad despite his track record of not being able to do that. We've absolutely hamstrung ourselves and the decision to keep Danny Lennon will have horrible lasting effects for years to come. We're now bottom of the league with a terrible manager and one of the worst squads in my lifetime. Don't get me wrong, we could have made a bad appointment, or even a good appointment that didn't work, but the time to roll the dice was a year ago and that's what's seeing us in this current horrendous situation.
  14. I’d imagine the fee is a bit of a pittance, considering we either sell him now or lose him for free in the summer. Given he’s our only real saleable asset and we’re in no position to hold out, it was probably a bit low ball.
  15. As he's the only player we have that's consistently scored, or even just not been completely terrible, I'd say his value to us as a club is potentially the difference between getting into the play-offs in 9th and being automatically relegated. I can't see us replacing him, or putting the fee to any sort of use. As I say, it'd be a very different story if I could see us being able to do something with the fee. I'm not entirely sure whether you're being stupid and attempting snide or are genuinely interested in my opinion, but I'll go with the former and pepper you with my opinion regardless.
  16. He's small but has pretty good hold up play, and he's a good finisher. I think he'd be fantastic in a two - maybe with someone like Burrell? Not necessarily as the 'wee guy' but just to have someone close to him to play off of, as he would become quite isolated. He's scored 10 goals in probably the worst Clyde team in my lifetime, which is some feat.
  17. Jordan Allan to Falkirk, that's us absolutely goosed. The one player that's shown a bit of balls and endeavour. Normally I'd maybe say something like 'at least we get a bit of a fee' but I have no trust in the club to have valued the player correctly, or even if they had, make sure the money goes where it should. Just an absolute shambles from the start (well, the fourth game) of the season.
  18. Ian McShane has never played for Clyde - the guy just misunderstood your point. He is certainly a very decent player, I'd take him here in a heartbeat.
  19. Even with previous form considered, if you offered me an entire squad swap there isn't one current Clyde player I'd keep ahead of any of the Darvel lot.
  20. Here, you can borrow some of these if you want: , , , . . . ! ! !
  21. Transfermarkt has him down as playing mostly as a right winger/striker - is that about right? Still waiting for a centre midfielder and a centre half, but it’s nice to have a decent forward line.
