  1. You could probably say that this is the most important week of our season, with the Elgin game on Tuesday, Peterhead on Saturday and the end of the transfer window approaching. Elgin have one of the best home records in the league and with us travelling up there on a Tuesday night, it's not going to be easy at all. Peterhead then come to Clyde off the back of a superb result against Stenhousemuir on Saturday. Ideally we want 6 points from this week, but anything less than 4 would be a sore one to take. My team for tomorrow would be along the lines of: - Leighfield - - Dunachie - Hamilton - Howie - McGinn - - Leitch - Grant - Cuddihy - Scullion - - Allan - Rennie - Subs: Parry - P. Grant - Lyon - Sula - Hynes - Leslie - Young In terms of signings, I really still think we need a goalkeeper and after Stevenson's departure, a left sided attacking player. I don' think Scullion is very effective out there but he's probably our best current option.
  2. I’m still hopeful of having the other body @Neilly spoke of being announced today - although potentially there’s some red tape holding things up.
  3. This is another field where the top league falls drastically short compared to the lower leagues. A bunch of homunculi compared to what we have down our ends. - Josh Rae - - Adam Corbett - Tom Lang - Craig Watson - Robbie McIntyre - - Kris Syvertsen (legacy pick) - Joe McKee - Robbie McNab - Andy Murdoch - - Ouzy See - Brian Graham - Read it and weep, uggos.
  4. I don't think Edinburgh can afford to be too picky at the moment. Unfortunately no, he wasn't. He was miles out of his depth at the bottom end of League 1. I hope things stabilise a bit for you over the next wee bit though, can't be having a good time. Must be unnerving having Michael McIndoe involved in a situation where finances are precarious too!
  5. I would actually argue that to keep momentum going you actually have to start moving forward. Hopefully we can do that this weekend by “winning a game of football”.
  6. I've been disappointed with the window so far, but you really would expect us to get a few signings through the door later on in the week after training is out the way. If what has been hinted at comes to fruition and we're able to bring in Jordan Allan and Alex King back in on loan, that immediately makes us look so much stronger. On top of that, if we sign a goalkeeper and a left back I'd be more than satisfied with the window. Anything less than that will be a huge let down.
  7. I’m not sure what you mean by this. Both players came on as a sub. How are you separating them? To be fair, Ryan Shanley was cup-tied. I’d imagine with Falkirk going out today, they’re more likely to fancy sending Jordan Allan out on loan now they don’t need him as a cup second choice. I’d imagine Jordan would want to get a loan move and smash the second half of the season, which would potentially allow him to get what would probably be his last full time contract next season albeit at the likes of Hamilton or QotS. Don’t know his personal situation but you’d imagine at his age he wants to be full time for as long as possible.
  8. Absolutely. I normally revel in other individuals making themselves look hopelessly pathetic (which makes me feel better about my own sad little life!) but even I find him to be too much.
  9. @Jan Vojáček I see that “Jimmy Choo” has replied to your post - won’t look at the message because I, as have most of the borderline sensible folks on here, have him muted - but I’d imagine it’s some absolute word salad with an ALL CAPS section. He’s a turnip. A lonely turnip.
  10. This weeks Terrace lower league podcast is a good listen, with @Francesc Fabregas and @Jan Vojáček offering up some disappointingly level headed discussion on Clyde Football Club. A sensible point was made that’s been put forth here before, that McCall should be trusted and is a man who drives a hard bargain. Chances are he has bodies in the wings but signing them to contracts is potentially pointless when realistically, they can’t play until next weekend so paying them now isn’t ideal. However, that chat done nothing to satiate me. I’m hungry for signings and I want them NOW.
  11. Doesn’t take much for the head bangers to once again reveal themselves
  12. Absolutely agree. One goal and two assists in the league for an attacking player is not very good whatsoever. We need players that can take games by the scruff of the neck and unfortunately Leslie has very little end product. He is *a body* though and unlike several of the other Duffy/McLean signings, looks like he’s played Association Football before, so that’s something. Again, like Alex King, I think he would really suit playing in a better team. He’s got Clyde-itis.
  13. Absolutely, he’s lightning quick and a decent finisher. He’d be very good for us (probably). Which means we probably won’t get him in. I’ve swiftly went from excitement to apathy in this window though. I still fancy McCall to keep us up, but they’ve absolutely fucked it with all the big talk.
  14. If we’re not on this like white on rice, I’d be very disappointed.
  15. Yeah, I had convinced myself that McCall would have 10 bodies lined up to sign on Jan 1st.
  16. I do feel bad for the likes of Duncan, Malcolm, Mulvanny, McCulloch, Hendji etc and all the baffling signings. They just get absolutely shown up at this level. There’s no way they could possibly have shown enough in training/friendlies to justify a professional gig. You get the feeling these boys have just been thrown to the lions to prove some kind of point, whatever it may be.
  17. If you look at our games since since maybe Barry Ferguson was in charge, we’ve probably had someone playing out of position at full back in 90% of our games. Last season was one of my favourites - Lennon signed left backs Andy Rodden and Nathan Hendji in the summer. In the first game against QotS he started Hendji, hooked him after 10ish mins and brought on Paul Kennedy (a centre midfielder) to play at left back, leaving Rodden on the bench! He then signed a third left back in Jon Craig on loan but still continued with PK for many games. Brilliant.
  18. Yes. We NEED to stop trying to stick square pegs in round holes. It’s been one of our biggest issues this past decade. Especially at full back! Sticking a creative midfielder who wants to get on the ball and do stuff at full back or wing back isn’t going to coax performances out of him. If he isn’t playing in his actual position, he shouldn’t be shoehorned into the team.
  19. Not even 9 am and you’ve already posted the weirdest comment of the day, bravo!
  20. It’s the year of our lord 2024 and some folk still haven’t muted Jimmy Choo on here. Unbelievable.
  21. I think I speak for most of us when I say - we refuse
  22. I have everything crossed that Allan will be coming back to Clyde on loan. He still comes to games that don’t clash with Falkirk. I reckon McCall could convince him to do us a favour for the last few month of the season. However also, he could go to pretty much any club below Falkirk, so it’s a bit pie in the sky.
  23. You’d take Mitchell in a heartbeat wouldn’t you. He’d pretty much be the best goalkeeper in the league, so really if he were to leave Thistle on loan he could have the pick of most clubs above us - however as has been mentioned there is the McCall link. Stranger things have happened. Either way, I’m getting tetchy. Give us another signing, pronto.
  24. Great patter! It’s well worth giving up valuable seconds of your life on NYD to come and post snide on a team you don’t supports forum page. You’re a cool guy!
