  1. Credit to Raith who fully deserved the win and given the way the game panned out, I'm relieved we didn't lose by more. With Cuddihy, Norway and (most importantly) Rankin back plus a fitter Goodwillie (give him a wee or two on the bench ffs!) we will be a different animal altogether. That said, we still badly need an experienced defender to sort out problems down the left flank but I am hoping this is something Lennon is working on. Great wee stadium by the way but charging £17 to sit in that particular bit of the stadium is a bit of an insult. Mediocre view and seats covered in bird $hite does not make for a pleasant away day experience. I'd urge your board to have a rethink and stick fans in the end stand again or you'll end up losing away punters, me being one.
  2. As long as it isn't in contravention of any SFA rule. Don't think I could cope with another points reduction! On the subject of comp tickets - I agree with most in that it does seem as though they are being given out too freely. They shouldn't be given to anyone other than local kids and perhaps as a sweetener to prospective sponsors/partners/investors. It may be true that most comp ticket users wouldn't come along if it wasn't for the free ticket but to allow this to continue is an insult to those of us who do pay. It hasn't always been the case, (particularly in recent years) but the current squad definitely merit supporters paying in to watch them play.
  3. Damn..definitely no pub then or still a possibility yet to be confirmed? Could do with a pub next to the stadium that ain't Broadwood Farm.
  4. "Pub/Restaurant" under Tenants section. http://www.morganwilliams.co.uk/out_of_town/scheme/Cumbernauld-Retail-ParkWestfield-Road-Cumbernauld.html
  5. According to the plans there is going to be a pub in the new retail park.
  6. Almost...Clyde 2nd, Raith 3rd. The rest is probably incorrect but who actually gives a cr@p? That dough ball Millar said we'd need to completely overhaul the squad to compete in League 1 but I call BS. With the stronger elements of the squad already signed up I'm confident we'll give every team in this league a run for their money and finish top four comfortably.
  7. Any chance we could open another stand for this? If the weather holds out, we could get a lot of neutrals plus we're likely to have our biggest home crowd for a good few seasons. If Annan aren't expected to have enough fans to justify opening the away stand, we could always stick them behind the goals? Would make for a much better atmosphere.
  8. Looking forward to this despite the nerves. I think it will be competitive but I'm going to be optimistic and say 2-0 win for Clyde. I just hope we go all out for the win from the first whistle - don't see the point in playing it cagey as we are the better team. Let's put the tie to bed tonight. I know it's a bit of a trek, particularly for a Tuesday night, but here's hoping we travel down in droves and drown out the Annan faithful. MON THE BULLY WEE!!!
  9. Cuddihy definitely out for the foreseeable then? Huge loss but even without him and Rankin I still fancy our chances in the playoffs.
  10. Just think...if you followed a decent team like the mighty Clyde you might actually still have something to play for this season. Enjoy your League 2 pish next season.
  11. I dunno...i found the jeopardy of the blocked urinal pretty exciting. Shitehole, shite fans and a depressing feeling of despair pervaded the entire place. Will not miss it next season when we're flying high in League 1. Hope the steward enjoys my overpriced can of IPA...pr!ck.
  12. On a side note, could someone please recommend a pub near the ground for a quick pint before kick off? I'll only have about 20 mins so proximity to the stadium is my main concern.
  13. Don't be sore. You should be grateful we engineered this season so that we could win the league at your hovel of a football stadium, thus quadrupling your average gate and boosting your club's finances. I trust the red carpet has been dusted down and any traces of animal faecal matter removed? You should be welcoming us like royalty.
  14. Nearest "derby" rivals yet you don't "dislike" them? I'm a Clyde fan, get me outta this league!!!
  15. Pizza after games? Sounds like we need to recruit a dietician.
  16. I don't understand the mentality of those who say they intend to boycott games, withdraw support etc. while Goodwillie is on our books. Attending games with him in the team is not an act of condonation - either of his crime or that of the board's decision to sign him. We support Clyde FC , not Goodwillie. Clyde is so much more than individuals - whether that be playing staff or the blazer clad brigade. As for the point about professional footballers being role models for our young people - I agree, to an extent they are. However, as human beings they are also prone to a wild array of behaviour from the admirable to disgusting and in this case - criminal. That said, I don't believe that by signing him we are in any way sending a message that his crimes are not particularly serious. I think the resounding message here is one of forgiveness and rehabilitation in light of a very serious crime having been committed. Hopefully our young people will learn that even the most talented and privileged in our society are often far from the image of perfection they would like to perpetuate. They may also see that even when such individuals conduct themselves in the most abhorrent manner, a civilised society such as this would seek to build something positive out of the disaster created. Having said all that, I am for a multitude of reasons, actually opposed to the signing of Goodwillie. However, I am not prepared to allow one individual to fast track our relegation and, ultimately, destroy our club.
  17. Good point were it not for the fact the members had no choice when it came to appointing the current board. Who else put themselves forward for election other than those who were voted in? The board on the other hand could have chosen from a wide array of applicants for the manager's position.
  18. Or to put it another way... If I start a fire which is then worsened by some fanny who, for reasons unknown, decides to fan the flames, which party is ultimately responsible for the damage? Please stop trying to defend the indefensible. It's nauseating.
  19. Yes, Barry and the players were/are to blame for shite performances and league position but that doesn't negate the fact that the board created this situation by appointing Ferguson in the first place. If it wasn't for their total incompetence and disastrous decision making we wouldn't be in this mess! In that respect they are solely responsible for our current predicament.
  20. Can't beat a bit of literacy snobbery, eh chaps? Maybe you two should go feel each other up in dictionary corner.
