  1. We've played worse this season and won but that was far from a good performance. At least there was a wee bit of dig 2nd half and thank f*CK we didn't lose as that really would have been game over. I think we might still be ok but it's bloody horrible having to rely on Stranraer being slightly more shite than us.
  2. Which of the 10-15 wee boys in the away end were you? Congrats on winning the league etc. *yawn*
  3. So that's Scullion out for the rest of the season. Silly boy. *Edited to say* Sorry, misread - so he's out for the next two fixtures but will be back for the East Fife and Elgin game providing he doesn't misbehave again.
  4. How reliable is the WiFi in the bowling club? In case I decide to watch the game in there...
  5. You not heard of the cost of living crisis? Cava all the way.
  6. If AlLan Maitland manages to turn things around and in a few years we make it to the dizzying heights of the Scottish Premiership, can we expect to see you back at Clyde games?
  7. Can't speak for Dumbarton but as you know we haven't exactly had much to shout about on the footballing front this season. Can anyone blame us for being more interested in the boozers when it comes to a pre-match thread? My prediction is a 2-3 win for Clyde. Martin Rennie with one and a Jordan Allan brace.
  8. You're absolutely right there are more important issues at play here and I agree we need lots of changes for next season if we are to begin to recover and progress - no matter what league we end up playing in. Thankfully, Alan Maitland seems all too aware of this and has already promised on more than one occasion that the changes will be coming so I am not overly worried on that front. All of that doesn't change the fact that this Jimmy Choo character has been hounding Clyde supporters for most of the season and almost willing the team to lose every week just to prove his doom an' gloom predictions correct. It was nauseating to read and was the exact opposite of what was required at such a crucial time for the club when we really needed to galvanise the support and work together to secure the safety of the club. Am I gonna call him out now he's done a U-turn at the first concrete sign we may avoid 10th spot? You bet!
  9. So you are recognising there is now a chance we won't be relegated. There always was of course but you were adamant we were 100% going to get relegated - long after McCall had arrived and basically signed a new squad I might add. Wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't for the fact you jumped down the throat of everyone and anyone who dared to entertain the chance, albeit extremely remote, of us escaping relegation. I think you owe us all an apology.
  10. Absolutely. Martin Rennie must be absolutely ragin'. On the topic of oor Jordan, any chance we could have 99 by Toto played during HT at the next home game? A fitting tribute to the wee man and the lyrics seem to describe his Clyde journey with the move to Falkirk and then back to having to save us from relegation quite nicely.
  11. Thanks for the tips guys. Yeah, we all know you can Google for stuff like this but I always prefer to get advice from locals and actual football fans. Your absence of snidey remarks has been noted and I wish you guys all the best (post-Saturday!) for a strong finish to the season. Here's hoping for a well contested match and Clyde win on Saturday - got a feeling there's gonna be a few goals in this one for both teams!
  12. The Clyde obsession I can relate to but to see it from a supposed non Clyde fan is novel to say the least. Should we start offering reduced season tickets to fans of other teams who can't seem to keep us off their minds?
  13. Does this mean you're now open to the possibility of Clyde NOT being relegated this season?
  14. McGinn won't start. He should but he won't.
  15. Cheers. Looks like the pubs around the High St are all fairly close to each other so will check out more than one if time allows. Good to have options close to the stadium. Any of them have a beer garden if by some miracle it's dry and sunny on Saturday?
  16. Of course it is. As is spitting at players, particularly when all that has happened up until said spit is a few words/gestures. Seemingly already dealt with internally by both clubs/adults involved but you keep greetin' about it if it makes you feel better.
  17. Good to know, thanks. Any other pubs you'd recommend in the vicinity? Don't mind a 10-15 mins walk to/from the stadium.
  18. We've definitely had worse refs this season, (Peterhead last week for example) but if you think that ref was "fine" you should maybe consider a career with the SFA. In what way were we time wasting first half? Indecision isn't the same as deliberately trying to run the clock down to get a point which was clearly Stranraer's game plan for 92 minutes. Absolutely agree on Allan. You could argue we'd be mid table had he never left for Falkirk.
  19. Great highlights and at times comedy commentary - thanks for posting. Cannae beat a bit of commentator's bias. Jordan Allan is kicked in the face by a ridiculously high and dangerous boot but his resultant fall/face clutching is "histrionics". Then we have Grant getting scythed down from behind whilst we're boosting up the park to potentially score a goal on the break and he's "making the most of that". Also enjoyed watching the cardboard cutout Stranny fans from the end stand view when our winning goal went in. Most of them barely moved an inch in their seats...is that a sign of resignation or were you guys too busy checking the Rangers lineup for Sunday? Gotta love it!
  20. Plenty of tears for sure and no doubt a few skid marked briefs when wee Jordan headed in the injury time winner. You reap what you sow etc...
  21. Not going to bother analysing the game as we all know the deal. The result is all that matters and as has already been said, we fully deserved to win that game - probably by two or three goals given our 2nd half dominance. A few things I wanted to note: 1) Jordan Allan is a great wee player and is fast becoming one of my all time faves. I only hope we are able to hold onto him for at least one more season - I guess a lot of that will depend on whether we stay up. 2) Alan Maitland is an absolute hero. Anyone who was lucky enough to be in the stadium bar pre-match to witness his rousing speech will testify to this fact. It was reminiscent of the pre-battle speech in Braveheart, minus the horse and a few kilts. Next time give the guy a mic/megaphone though as it took a minute for some to realise the big man was speaking to the room. 3) Ebbo is back where he belongs and I suspect has probably learned to keep his fingers in check. He made a mistake but has paid for it and fully deserves to remain in his position. Was great to see him celebrating with the players at the end and you could tell how much it means to him. Welcome back! 4) Still not sure why McCall seems so reluctant to consult the league table. Did he use this sort of patter with his previous clubs? Look at it ffs - regularly! Congratulations to the players and all involved. It was tense but what a feeling when Allan headed in at the end. Mon the Bully Wee!!!
  22. Maybe we could get the Kitman in for the pre-match teamtalk? At least he seems to actually give a $hit. Assuming he hasn't been arrested under the new hate crime legislation for giving the Stranraer fans the two fingers.
  23. The way this season has gone I wouldn't be remotely surprised if we lose to Stranraer by a couple of goals next Saturday and follow it up by pumping Dumbarton by 6 or 7 goals, a la Stenny away. Regardless, if we lose to Stranraer I think I'll finally have to admit to myself that this group of players (whilst of a reasonable quality at this level) simply don't have the guts or interest to avoid relegation. Time to show a bit of fight please.
