I'm not talking them down I'm simply giving an opinion based on what I have saw and if thats uncomplimentary then I'm sorry but it is what it is and while yes they served the club well they were also paid for the privilege so long as it's not personal abuse then fans are entitled to air opinions on performance they may not always be right but they are entitled to do so imo .100% concentrate on next season and players involved but also no point in talking down about players that served the club well and played at a higher level. Hope the 3 go on to do well , also hope the candy have a good season in the centenary year
Ferns on the other hand was simply fantastic and joins Big B as the best players I have saw at the Candy and to lose him was imo a massive blow but the jersey is now available for someone else to come in and make there mark .
I do wish all 3 well but they won't play in front of a bigger and more devoted support than at the candy but that's there decision.2 -
Fair points junior guyHarsh on mcdonald and Bryson imo. Mcdonald played senior I'm sure so the step up not an issue and Bryson was four seasons at the roch according to gotw and like he said short career. Ferns a bit different, the squad darvel are building is impressive but obviously not away for penny's
Like I said I would prefer to focus on the guys that are going wear the jersey next season and not other clubs players0 -
Absolutely [emoji106]Money talks bud, all the best in your Centenary year, see you whenever the fixtures pair us up
Looking forward it
Great ground to visit and I enjoyed the craic with the Kilsyth lads at home last season0 -
Loyalty is not a dirty word
The fans show loyalty we turn up every week win lose or draw
The gaffer has shown loyalty he could have easily chased a quick buck given his successful record at the club and took another job and some players have shown loyalty by staying despite better offers elsewhere and it's not a lack of ambition as they have ambition and that is too make St Rochs one of the best junior sides around or at the least the best ever St Rochs team .
So that's the guys I'm interested in and that's the guys I support because together we want the best for the club not ourselves .

Let's be honest better terms on the table from Darvel than what Pollok offered and that was not pennies either .
Would have loved him to stay but he wanted the money so cheerio best of luck and ye know what the badge on the front of the shirt will always be more important than the name on the back .
It's a short career and Players are entitled to get the most they can out it and I have no issues with that but let's just be here honest if he was that desperate to play for Mick then he could have joined CP last season and forfilled his dream .

Joining peasy was a real Maurice Johnston moment that's what I meant regarding loyalty ..but regardless I wish them wellAye, that loyalty stuff...only seems to work in one direction judging by the posts above. That haddie was OK when he was our player but he has suddenly turned into a disloyal diddie when his contract wasn't renewed....Sent from my FIG-LX1 using Tapatalk

I think your spot on GarngadMcDonald was good in the division below but like many, if not most, struggled with the step up. Bryson no big loss either but he is a bit better than Steph.
Have to be replaced by experienced pros. Should have happened this year but if the Candy are going to progress this season it is essential.
Ferns was exceptional earlier int he season but his form at the end was really poor so we move on from that one. He will be back.
Neither player is any big loss.
I never warmed to McDonald at all but tbf I thought when he played centre midfield in the run in last season he done really well but was far to slow to ever be a centre forward and his goal return in that position confirmed that for me .1 -
Yes 4 seasonsDid McDonald and Bryson not play with st rochs for a few seasons?0 -
Certainly does m8 but players are not fans so no loyalty to the club just another pay day
Money talks eh??1 -
What team do you follow Sharpal ?All the best to St Rochs in their centenary year.
Will see you at some stage in the league.0 -
Is there really more money out there ?I think everybody knows that Rossvale have stadia issues, fan issues.. makes it difficult ... To get where they have in such a short space of time, and keep some top players on way less money than is on offer elsewhere, says a lot about the spirit in the team.
The vast majority of teams have re-signed there squads from last season .
Not much business bring done with the exception of Darvel but there is even a lot of myth surrounding what they are paying aswell .0 -

The gaffer and committee will have exhausted every business in the area and we do have sponsorship from many in the area but like I said it's not like an Ayrshire/ Lanarkshire town where many local businesses put back in as those types of establishments just don't exsistI was past your way yesterday in work's van gotw, few places down from u ,estate where country baskets etc are ? No harm in putting the feelers out1 -
For me Duraglit staying up would be an achievement as the championship is probably the ceiling of were the club can go without decent investment and even at that clubs like Darvel and Arthurlie will start the season with a budget way above anything we could hope for .
Yes for 70 odd minutes I must admit I thought our name was on the cup this season lol but Largs just too good in the end .1 -
I genuinely don't know if true but other fans have told me the company next door take nothing to with the club as they want the land to expand there business .Seriously, why not. Nothing ventured etc. What about the builders in the area? There's a fair amount of development going on. Health promotion charities and the like are always looking to demonstrate their activity as well and places like Provanmill and Shettleston are where they should be concentrating their community involvement
There is not a lot of businesses in the area and certainly nothing like what you get in a small Ayrshire town tho there are plans to build the new super Barlinnie prision just over from the ground so that might be an avenue as the authorities may invest in the area but again only my thinking0 -

That said however I think the legacy of the centenary season should not be chasing promotion but on securing the club for the foreseeable future and if anyone leaves then there would be a plan and funds to keep the club going .
You only need to look at Cambuslang Rangers and Maryhill to see how quickly things can go wrong and how close a club can be to going to the wall if there is no long term planning in place .

Agreed Peter
I hope there is spike in season book sales this season as that would really put us on a firm footing along with the 100 club .
Probably the biggest step tho is get more sponsors into the club as that's were you make the big money but that's a tough old market to break.
Be interesting to see who we sign this season by all accounts the lad Mcstay is decent going by comments on here and happy with the ones who have re-signed but in an ideal world we would supplement them with a bit of quality .1 -
We have played CP the last few seasons ceejayer pre season and friendlies and we never beat them hopefully Mick does not hold the auld Indian sign over us [emoji23]Ha ha love an optimist[emoji6]1 -
Cheers m8Best of luck in your centenary year, looking forward to our visit this season which this time will hopefully be on a Saturday.
Look forward to seeing you guys and beating yeez again [emoji23][emoji23][emoji106]

Very true this season is not even Officially over yet so plenty of business still to be done but I still can't see past Darvel if they hit the ground runningThink it too early to speculate the top 3 with the clubs still seeing who they are keeping and who's going and any new players coming into the clubs0
