  1. Are people still suggesting our DOF has nothing to do with recruitment
  2. I assume he will play left of a back 3 with Dixon in the middle. 1 more CB surely means we don’t need to see Hall and McKay again
  3. Bring better than Lex Miller doesn’t qualify you for the job I’m afraid. He needs to go and I’m sure the board know it.
  4. Given the fact that McGuffie is utter shite then surely we just shoehorn him onto the bench. Not sure what we do with Morrison. I don’t think he’s a striker either but his delivery from wide is awful. At least through the middle he’d give us some kind of goal threat
  5. I think we have a fair idea what his remit is, there’s not exactly an endless list of possibilities. He’s not the manager, physio, analyst or groundsman. He doesn’t work in the shop or hospitality. He doesn’t operate the turnstiles, he’s not a steward and he’s not a player. By process of elimination, he either runs the academy or is involved in player transfers. Unless I’m missing something very vital in the running of a club?? Fergus couldn’t have distanced himself from Holt any quicker and we now have people saying he won’t be involved in signings. He’s that bad that he’s basically made his own job redundant (Fergus doesn’t want him involved and the manager doesn’t want to sign his players). Surely his position is untenable
  6. If this is the case then can I ask what we are paying Gary Holt 50 grand to do? Ian Fergus was very clear that Holt has nothing to do with the academy and you are suggesting he is not signing players. Are we paying him to create a list of players that the manager may or may not want to sign and to do the photocopying of the contracts?
  7. I’m pretty sure the new board, who are desperate for the support of the fans, will speak to the fans about the direction of the club soon . Everyone wants to get behind this, give us something to get behind.
  8. As if today wasn’t bad enough, Rennie pretty much confirming our worst fears in his interview. Remember folk we’re trying to tell us he’d have full control after his first interview. Absolute bollocks.
  9. Centre halves and centre forwards, who knew they’d be so important. Soft as shit at one end and toothless at the other, great combo. At the AGM it was suggested that the new board were going to spend the first 2 weeks assessing all aspects of the club. By my calculations tomorrow is 3 weeks, can anyone confirm when we are likely to see action? Every minute our Sporting Director spends at our club is a minute too long.
  10. No. See the Falkirk thread for my main concern
  11. The only thing worse than watching Falkirk right now is having to watch us on Falkirk TV. I know they are volunteers (bla bla bla) but they are awful. Lewis going on as if we dominated the game and McKay just made a wee mistake. That’s every fuckin week Lewis. That’s not dominating the game, if we don’t get a penalty we don’t score. It wasn’t an error it was his weekly contribution. Awful to watch, awful to listen to. Just shut the fuckin doors.
  12. Why is the guy who assembled this pile of shite still employed by our club? Surely he’ll be gone by the time the window opens. As for the players, an absolute disgrace. Another group of imposters who shouldn’t be anywhere near our club.
  13. If the ‘old board’ had made this decision this place would’ve been in meltdown. However now that most folk have a pal on the ‘new board’ then let’s all pretend ‘it’s the best we could’ve done.’ I’m all for getting behind this new board and will be joining the FSS but I’m hoping we start to see improvements soon. I know things take time but this decision is no different from the previous regime and Gary Holt is still stealing a wage. Time to get to work…
  14. Absolute nonsense and you know it. Had this happened before you invested some money you’d be all over it but you can’t possibly say a bad word about the club now. First come first served is the most unfair way. Also, how the f**k can you ‘guarantee’ 20% would hand them back? Another nonsense statement. Also, hospitality day trippers trumping season ticket holders Another poor call from the club but “let’s all pull together”
  15. How do we continue to make terrible decisions. First come first served. Get to f**k.
  16. I think we’re now splitting hairs on everything that is said on here. Ok B4L cannot dictate how the money is spent - fine. However they are donating 32 grand. The club also has money to sign 3 or 4 players. Whether it is B4L money, the clubs money or both I couldn’t give a f**k. Sign a fucking striker and some centre halves. I hope that clarifies things, I am very sorry for my mistake
  17. Ok. I think they have suggested they would like to see it being spent on a striker. Whether that carries any weight or not I don’t know. I think everyone at the club can see we need a striker so I’m not sure why this wouldn’t be the case anyway but I’m sure we’ll find out in time
  18. Agree with this. As far as I’m lead to believe, there is money available for up to 5 players, including £32,000 from B4L for a striker. The money has to be spent on the spine - 2 centre backs, a hatchet man and 2 strikers for me. Lets just hope the man of the moment, Gary Holt, makes a better job of picking them. I’ve no doubt he’s working really hard behind the scenes right now. Let’s hope that hard work pays off this time.
  19. Just watched the interview and like everyone else I took 2 things from it. 1. Rennie comes across really well and really hope he does a good job. 2. Sounds very much like Holt is staying. If that does prove to be the case it’s very disappointing. The Navy Blue in August - “We’ll invest money but we demand the removal of Gary Holt.” The Navy Blue + Friends in December - “Let’s all pull together. Holt is working hard behind the scenes”. All fart and no jobby.
  20. Did anyone go for a chat with the new guys tonight? Anything interesting to report? When is Holt being made redundant?
  21. Told ye . At least I got the timeframe right but was convinced we’d appoint Rice. Pleasantly surprised by this and happy to get right behind him
  22. Can I just ask, is there a list of managers that we know won’t take the job that we should just ask anyway? Or does this fantastic logic only stretch as far as Jack Ross?
