  1. What would you want as a contingency plan then? What is the contingency plan for this situation?
  2. I wonder how long it'll be this season before the men in white coats come for you or if you'll just lose it one day and launch your computer out your bedroom window.
  3. It was more the fact that he's off the injury list. However, on last seasons efforts and by the sound of it, today's, I'm not sure how much of a difference that might make.
  4. This is coming from me here, which will raise some eyebrows I'm sure, but you're everything that's wrong with this club. People like you have no sense of reality what so ever.
  5. We've played 4 games with almost a brand new team of players, not even had a home game yet and the squad isn't 100% fit. There was a reaction from the Cowdenbeath game and a spirited performance against ICT. Today's game was a pain in the arse at best for the players and management. People on here already getting the pitchforks out for Smith because of his tactics and team selection. Who else could he have played and what other formations would have suited us better? There's a full season in front of us and its not going to be an easy one. But it'll be a hell of a lot longer and painful with the current attitude and mood of the fans on here. Take some deep breaths and run a bath or go and karate chop some planks of wood. Just calm yourself down a bit. Get the Stranrear game out of the way then watch us tear it up on this new surface of ours.
  6. Calm down everyone! Last week we were all creaming our loads over how well the team played against Hearts. It was a meaningless game. The injuries are unfortunate and a bit of a worry but what the hells the point in getting on the backs of the team and manager before the seasons even started? Hopefully the injuries from today aren't too severe and at least we've got Buchanan coming back. Next Saturday will be the game to reserve judgment for. Maybe the club should just roll Sim out to tell us about how he's planning on building a hotel in the Railway Stand by 2075 and everyone will go back to feeling good again.
  7. Yeah Sim did say that we'll still need their indoor facility and the Fife Leisure facilities if we use KDY pool and gym. I remember hearing that during the McKinnon days, he was only ever at the stadium on home games. Any day to day business that needed done at Starks was done by Laurie Ellis. It's a strange thought when you realise that our players and coaches spend very little time actually at the stadium. I've heard that teams like Peterhead and Stranrear do their training in the central belt. It's an easier way to attract players I suppose.
  8. It's something we've really missed out on at Starks for so many years. There's generations of Raith fans who've never experienced a real atmosphere between home and away fans. Nothing beats being close to the oppositions fans and giving it tight to them. A bit of 'banter' always makes for a better atmosphere. I remember being at Brockville for a game we lost 2-1. That little section beside the away fans with the cage between us was amazing. The atmosphere that day was fantastic.
  9. £9k sounds about right. There was also meant to be a bit of a 'relationship' between Michael Woods and Raith when we started using it. I think it benefited both parties with profile for the Michael Woods facilities and Raith getting new equipment etc. Sim seems very switched on when it comes to his vision. You can't argue with putting his money where his mouth is and getting things sorted. He wanted a plastic pitch 2 seasons ago and we've got one now. He's obviously smart when it comes to money and protecting investments so I trust him with that side of thing. Interesting about safe standing being more likely in front of the main stand than the railway stand too. I'd actually prefer that to the railway stand to be honest. I heard that there's talk of widening the pitch in the future by knocking the wall down and levelling the ground to the bottom of the front of the main stand so that might be where the standing comes in.
  10. Yeah but I was also there when we beat them on the opening game of the season before. Great day out. We went 12 years without a win in Falkirk then beat them to stay up in 2012. Maybe the Rovers aren't for you if you actually enjoy supporting us. I'd suggest someone like Man City or Chelsea, you won't even have to leave the house.
  11. BREAKING NEWS: Local mime artist interrupts Raith away kit launch.
  12. I heard they sold more shirts last night than they did at the previous shirt launch at Society. Having seen the rush to get one last night and then the rush to put it straight on shows how popular it's going to be. When you consider the disappointment from last season that was carried in from the previous one and has now been carried forward into this season, seeing Raith fans look happy and excited was a nice change. Maybe it's brightened us all up a bit.
  13. It's grown on me after seeing how many people bought it and then immediately put it on. Well done to the club for making a bold move in hard times and well done for hosting a successful evening.
  14. I also heard Kevin McHattie has a part time job at the Strathearn Hotel and will be serving drinks and nibbles at tonight's do.
  15. Looking forward to heading along tonight and seeing the new away kit. Has there been any previews of it online?
  16. Is it the fact that he's been training and playing for us pre-season and still hanging about but not signed suggest that he's got some kind of deal on the table and he's holding off for something better?
  17. Don't worry, Jules Tchimbakala has been seen at training this week. Must be looking to sign him once he gets fit.
  18. I'd heard that this was one of the things Brendan Rodgers was big on at Celtic over the last couple of years. Working the players to new levels of intensity. It obviously works for him and Celtic but does come at the price of players being more open to injury due to not being at the level he requires from them. It's one thing being able to do that but it's another thing having the resources to step up when a first team player is injured. It all really depends on their injuries also. It's not uncommon for niggly things to get in the way this early and if you're not 95%-100% fit then it's not worth risking it this early on. I'd quite happily have players sidelined for the league cup games if it meant having them fit enough for the start of the season. I'm just worried that after the first competitive game, Smith threw them under the bus after making excuses for them all last season. Will be interesting to see the reaction. There's players in this dressing room who didn't take it well when it was coming from Hughes so we'll see how they take it coming from Smith.
  19. "Hello and welcome along to the RRFC AGM. I'm Bill Clark and as Chairman, I'll be getting the proceedings started. Did everyone bring their own candle?" The lights dim and candles are lit... "Turnbull, if you're out there, give us a sign. Anything, just a sign to let us know what to do." Silence... "Ah well, looks like we just carry on doing what we're doing guys. Thanks for coming along, see you all next year."
  20. So if Grumswall put his tenner on, what will that mean he gets back?
  21. Jesus this is fucking boring! Can we have another speculative rumour that Vaughan might be leaving so at least we can have something to talk/panic about? I personally think we should keep him. He's definitely going to be the guy that wins us the league this season. Last season he was just warming up.
