  1. Laying on a beach in oz, enjoying his well earned retirement [emoji905]
  2. Getting a bit repetitive now........we all get your clubs no1 cheerleader. But as said above and as discussed with you a couple of weeks ago, Young has obviously not done his homework before the window opened. And at the end of the day ITS HIS JOB
  3. Did we not have o’hara that year ? Seem to remember him scoring against Peterhead at bayview
  4. That’s the difference between good manager who’s played at a good level and shite manager that’s knocked about scotland his whole career. Naysmith had the ability to bring fash on and develop his game, give him decent advice and pass on knowledge from the top level. Where as with boys like Wilson and mutch and probably dowds now aswell, they won’t have had that available to them young looks like he’s still learning the game himself and his career was hardly top level.
  5. A think it boils down to the fact we’re probs one of the most unattractive clubs in the division, Darren young adds to that he couldn’t inspire a 5 year old, i can imagine him trying to persuade a player to sign. And a think the fact the club has no direction or ambition/plan will hardly inspire any players, seems to me like we’re the half way shop for players that are on there way out of the game at this level, and players that can’t get a club
  6. I am personally gutted we have lost Wilkie, he’s a huge loss in a time where we are struggling for attack minded and creative players, am sure Agnew is gonna be a steady enough player for us but I would’ve loved to have seen him, Wilkie and a fully fit smith playing in behind a decent forward
  7. Did mc manus cop a ban for his role in the play off melee ? If so how many games ?
  8. Yeah a know what your saying, I definitely wouldn’t spend that kinda money on Lyle. In my opinion a goal scorer should’ve been first thing on the agenda, before we signed anyone else if that means offering 200 a week more than someone else it should’ve been done, decent strikers cost a lot more than other players, but there’s an obvious reason for that because without one or two your absolutely shafted over the duration of a season
  9. Would agree with that Scott, seems to be a fair bit cash floating about the division just not in lower methil hard to compete, a would like to think if a decent striker with a good fitness record came up the would pay that wee bit extra for him even if it ment having one less squad player next year. At least it would give us a fighting chance, we seem alarming light up top it’s a long season
  10. Decent loans are gonna be hard to come by this year, the reserve league has reformed and clubs are allowed to play players up to 21 in their colt teams. Would imagine the loans available will be either be from teams in and around us or 16-17 year olds from that arnt good enough for the colts.
  11. Nae double xxl ? Another absolute shambles. Why not advertise that before folk go all the way down for it ?
  12. A goalie is essential and it needs to be a number one. Long has been brought in as cover, am led to believe we missed out on our no.1 keeper target to airdrie. I would agree with most of what your saying, definitely need a goal scorer
  13. Lyle and court........might as well relegate us the now save the hassle. Duggan scored more in one game last year than court has his whole career. And Derek Lyle has been towing a caravan for 4 seasons.
  14. Best start to a pre season ? They’ve not even kicked a ball. As I said above I will reserve judgement till I have seen them play, a reckon a lot of boys play football manger on here and think it applies in real life. As a said happy enough with the signings on paper, slightly peeved we’ve missed out on a few attackers....a totally understand the financial side, but if we had to pay a top lower league striker a bit more money and it then meant he took up the budget for 2 players a reckon it would be worth it, u get what u pay for in life. They need to gamble so what if He costs 500 a week and it means the squad is one smaller ? These guys make the difference. As for the sunshine thing........it’s been a bleak 18 months it’s extremely hard to be positive especially with smith and young still in charge. He can sign who he wants, but without stark advising him every week he’s totally out his depth, and uninspiring is an understatement. And a reckon he knows he’s bulletproof. I will start being positive again when he’s actually managed 2 win 3 -4 games in a row.
  15. A reckon a few boys on here just get excited who ever we sign, a love Scots optimism a few days we’ll be able to pick who we want ?[emoji23] a reckon it’ll be the same as every other year, taking the left overs.....
  16. Am worried cause our only striker is probs not coming back, and now we have none........goals win you games at the end of the day. I am delighted we seem to have signed a few at the back. I shall reserve judgement until I’ve seen them play.....after the whole Ben Gordon thing. But we need a goalie, and a couple of forwards. The only Elgin fan that replied about long said he should be a decent back up.......once again I will judge him when I’ve seen him. With boys like Wilkie away and we no longer have the robinsons of the world...we can’t rely on midfield goals, we need a 20 goal a season man up top, and a decent back up if hes injured
  17. Need at least 2 strikers and another goalie, am glad we’ve at least signed some players, bit worried most of them seem defensively minded, agnew, Thomson and smith are the only real attacking players in there, and a don’t feel we can rely on smith as much as we used to. So fingers crossed we can get at least a couple of strikers
  18. U should get a top with Willis 77 on the back [emoji23]
  19. That’s funny nearly everybody i play with shares the same opinion ? You boys are obviously just hearing what u want to hear in terms of feed back, as for the tights a wore tights the second time thru fear of infecting my first wound. Am not talking about a grazed knee either my leg was ripped from just below the knee to my ankle a had to come off 20mins later due to the blood. It’s horrific. I have been to the doctor because a can’t get it to heal. Am not saying the pitch is bad to play football on but it’s extremely hard to be 100% commited on it. It must affect a players mentality........ a had to take a full week off work because a physically couldn’t kneel down.
  20. I have played on the surface many times, as your probably aware it’s open to the public.. The surface it’s self it’s decent to play football on, but you can’t commit to a proper tackle without ripping your leg open. No matter how many pairs of tights you’ve on. It definitely must have some effect on the players. If a had a choice to go to a club playing on plastic or grass I would go to the club with the grass.
  21. True story though, anybody who has played on that surface will testify that you can’t slide tackle without ripping your leg wide open. Maybe that’s where it’s all went wrong .....
