    What a result

    Do we dare to dream?

Superb result from the boys!  Yes,  I think we must now be in with a great chance of at least a top 3 finish.

We've proved ourselves the last two weeks, going away from home to the bookies two favourites for the title, and beating both.

It's a long season and there's probably 4 or 5 teams  there good enough to make a run to be the top team, but it's great Edinburgh City are one of them!

  2. A new player!

Edinburgh City are pleased to announce the signing of Adam Watson from Livingston on loan until January.

The twenty-year-old attacking midfielder came through the ranks at Hibernian where he worked with manager James McDonaugh at their academy, before joining Livingston in the summer.

The thing is with us City fans is everyone seems to want to sit apart so drumming up any kind of atmosphere is extremely difficult. Weve got songs but whats the point if we're not all stood or sat together. At East Kilbride im gonna try my best to get everyone together whether thats in the small stand or behind the goals and we can really go for it mate.

Nice one mate!   We've got a really good team this season, that DESERVES some support

If the boys get a decent result up at Peterhead then we'll be thinking we can win this league!

Seems everyone is happy. We get him off our wage bill, you guys get a player more than capable of scoring at your level.

Sheps is more than capable of scoring goals at championship level.

He'll no doubt score against you's when we play you in League one next season...

You are also very correct in saying we don't have many fans, Gaining more support is something the club and supporters club have high up on the agenda. I do believe Tam the bam is sunning himself in a mysterious location right now, its quiet on this thread without him. A few travelled up to Elgin yesterday from what I've read on twitter and Facebook. Apparently we were unlucky yesterday and should've come away with a point at least...... But we never I suppose. Stirling at home next week, they've got a point to prove and will give us a game, hopefully the lads confidence isn't knocked a bit after yesterday. Irn bru cup Tuesday......... Couldn't care about that to be honest.

Do you think the move to Ainslie Park has cost the club to lose much support ?

I remember it looked busier at Meadowbank.  Maybe most of the support live over at that side of the city and don't want to travel to AP?

  6. I had forgotten we even had an Irnbru cup game this week!  I'll give that a wide berth and just look forward to next saturdays match.

That irnbru cup thing must be a chance for the guys that sit on the bench every week (and some u20s)  to start a game surely?

I hope our first choice eleven are all rested on tuesday.

Might as well shut this thread down.

You feeling a bit frustrated about lack of  posts mate?

As you know City have very few fans anyway,  and guys on here like Bay citizen and City Citizen never post much.

Which leaves  You and Ally.   tamthebam must be away just now as he's not logged in for a fornight.  I'm just back today  from a week away as well.

Anyway, theres been nothing to discuss as we get Zero info out of the club!  For instance, injury news. How is Gareth Rodgers injury coming along?

Seeing as we only get about a 100 city at Ainslie park for home games,  I'd expect we'd have next to no fans travel away up to Elgin this weekend, therefore no-one can discuss what happened.

I'm feeling a bit frustrated as well.  We shouldn't be losing that game yesterday, and frustrated the club are taking ages to sign a certain striker and a couple of decent centre-halves we clearly need!

  8. No way will East Fife fc be anywhere near relegation trouble. Too good a team!

Right enough I don't rate your manager!   Strange choice of substitutions on Sunday there as well.

However, you're only maybe a better manager and a good striker away from challenging for the play-offs I'd say!

  9. I have been to a couple of Spartans games at Ainslie Park already this season and things look on course for another good year.

I thought Girdwood and Dawson looked good during the Dunipace game, and surprised they've not had mor game time during the betfred cup games.

As a City fan I'm interested to hear about where Stobie has gone, and Ross Allum as well?

  10. I travelled through to take in your Betfred cup tie with Forfar on Sunday.   As a neutral I have to say I was impressed by East Fife, who looked much the better of the two teams!

The big guys up front Smith and McBride were impressive, as was Agnew who was unlucky not to score with the free kick.

I thought your manager made the wrong substitutions in the second half by taking off (for me)  two of your best players and that maybe cost you the win in the end.

I started the game as a neutral, but by the time the penalties arrived I definately was hoping justice would be done and East Fife would win!

Anyway, positive signs for you, I'd say you should have a good season.  Best of luck guys!

Mcintyre is a very good player. Donaldson has played league football before. We played a championship team today who are scoring for fun. All that matters is that we do well in the league. Everyone around me today said the squad has improved. I don't think it was so one sided we played good football at times. Even Queens fans were saying the scoreline flattered a bit. Their 1st was miles offside. We looked superb second half against Clyde last week and were literally seconds away from taking 3 points at Broadwood. We are a much better team than last year.

Big Robbie did look OK going forward,  defensively not so sure,  but the whole defence was brutal.   Donaldson looks out his depth!  Gareth Rodger I've never rated.

Midfield has some decent players,  up front the two boys are a bit isolated, and need better service..

We need another striker and two better  quality defenders, IMHO.

Im sure once Balatoni starts playing you’ll stop conceding so many goals.

Balatoni has been playing!  To be honest he doesn't look great, but the whole back line has been a shambles.

Really boring game today as it was so one sided.   Have we improved from last season?  Doesn't look like it!

How can  releasing solid league 2 defenders like Pat Scullion and Jesus Garcia Tena and replacing them with Non league guys like Donaldson and McIntyre be an Improvement???

I think we've seen that in the last two games.  Nothing up front either.  Another long season ahead!

I see Pat Scullion has signed for Cowdenbeath, and Jesus Garcia Tena for Stenhoosemuir.
Anyone know where the rest of last season's "released players" have ended up?

Craig Beattie to Elgin (but injured I believe) Farid back to France. Karadachki to Alloa.

What happened with Ashley Grimes, where  is he away to?   Shaun Harrison?

  14. At least it's a home game for a change!  Probably winnable.

The last two years, away to premier league colt teams that are hungry to prove themselves has been difficult.

We usually haven't been ready for the start of the season previously, but seem a lot more organised this year!
