    Conrad Balatoni signing.

That’s a class signing at league 2, surprised he isn’t back at Ayr tbh.

Looking at the players City are bringing in, it seems we're having a real go next season,  for at least the play-offs.

All looks much better than the last two seasons.

Obviously there will be more signings on the way which must surely include some central defenders, or am I missing something? I don’t see any from those left over from last season and amongst the new signings.

I'd certainly say we're still short of 3 decent defenders.  As you say there is nothing there from last seasons team, so we need AT LEAST 2 good quality central defenders or we'll be leaking goals for fun.

Will miss big Beattie,  and also Pat organising the back line.  I'd have kept both actually...

Out of interest EC fans, who is providing the financial support to the club?  Someone has to be investing between 60-80k per year for you to be paying these wages.

I'll admit "I haven't a fuckin clue"  about finances at the club, but I don't see your point about us having extra money anyway.

City released 11 players wages at the end of the season and have only replaced 5 so far.  If anything we should be saving some money?

Kieran Stewart works really hard and is decent in the air. His passing however, is just awful.

Better than that clueless lump Scullion, though.

I don't know anything about Kieran Stewart, so appreciate all opinions.

However, Pat Scullion was Outstanding For City when he first arrived in January so everyone obviously have different views.

That's a bit of an anti climax. Stubbs, Caldwell or McIntyre ?

Jeezo, I'd feel bad for St Mirren or any team that had that shortlist for the managers job!

    Caldwell, clown worst manager ever

    McIntyre, clown worst manager ever

Stubbs out of those three, but the buddies best choice would be David Hopkin to lead them in the premier League.

  6. On looking at the images / plans for this "Lesser Murrayfield" ground, those wee  stands have pillars blocking your view on all three sides.

Low down tiny stands with pillars blocking your view is not necessary in modern times is it?

They MUST be able to produce something better than that crap,

  7. Hopefully we get three Saturday games this year, against Motherwell (Away) and QOS & Stranraer both home.

One Tuesday as our day off, and other midweek game clyde away to save us the bother travelling midweek. That would be decent

I'd have deffo kept Beattie as a coach or assistant manager. I'd have tried to seal a deal for Tena. Scullion is a shame because he was at a club where people actually like him and he could've grown in confidence with us. I liked him anyway. The loans I'd have loved to have stayed apart from Morrison. Shiels looked superb in the one game I saw him in. McLear was quiet but I'd have given him until January to improve and blend into the club a bit better. Not going to comment on a couple of the players we have kept but I'm sure I know who Tenkay is on about. No news on Antell which is good because he is a good goalkeeper. We really need a solid squad now and not a team full of loanees because they're never going to fully bond or gel. Apparently Blair Henderson is on his way to us according to the Annan thread. John Dunn I'm glad is staying on, personally I'd like to see Andrew Stobie back from Spartans as Antell needs competition in the sticks. I really hope we just go for it this season. Don't want to witness some of the stuff I saw last season again especially in the really late stages of the season(the hoofball tactics).

I'd be amazed if big Beattie has left the club?  Outstanding at centre half, and assistant manager.

Tena, Not for me. Glad he's gone.

Not sure which couple of players left you don't rate spiv?   but mine was JD.....

Yes Antell needs competition, I think he already has it but McDonagh won't give the other goalie a chance.

Overall the big clearout, seems the manager wants to create his own team to (hopefully!) push on forward next season.

    He's always welcome back.

I'm disappointed City have released him!  His first 4 games he played for us in January he was outstanding and cleared everything!

For some reason he has a bad rep with other teams fans, but I'd have him back at City next season.

Your new goalie seems a decent signing, going by your press release anyway.

I wasn't terribly impressed by Tena.

I thought Beats was a coach so surprised at that.

I'd have kept Pat despite the odd moist moment.

    Farid's past it.

McLear was a short term signing by the look of things

    I'd have kept McKee.

So that's only John Dunn out of the Lowland League winning team left.

I liked Taylor, Shepherd, Morrison and Blues but they were just on loan. I think I blinked and missed Shields.

I suppose we'll just be getting in a whole load of loans again but there's a bit of team rebuilding job on the management's hands. We'll have to wait and see whether the current management turn out to be Mr Stubbs or Mr O'Reilly.

Agree with most of that Tam!

About the Loans.  Am I right? they don't come until September which means we'll be sh1te at the start of the season?

City official page on facebook have a list of released players this morning. Pat Scullion, JGT, Beattie, Harrison, Mckee, El Alagui, McLear all contracts not being renewed. Shepherd, Taylor, Morrison, Shiels, Blues all return to parent clubs

    Thoughts City Fans?

I'd have kept most of those released ones, but got rid of 1 or 2 who we seem to be stuck with!

  12. What do other City fans think about Craig Beattie as player of the season ?

Personally, I think that's the wrong choice as he's missed a lot of games this season with injuries.

Yes he's been great at centre half when he's fit, and deserves to be on the four man shortlist, but at number 4 for me!

Any of the other three boys deserve it more with their contributions to the team, but the voting system allows otherwise.

Paul Slane signing for you lot, was with us about 2 seasons ago but think he had a fall out with Barry Ferguson. A lot of potential could 100% be one of the better players in this league if he got the head down

While a new signing is always welcome,  this boys wiki page does not make inspiring reading!

32 games and never scored a goal in his whole career, that can't be right?

What's he been doing the last couple of years ? Juniors?
