Hello city fans, I was wondering how Jesus Garcia Tena has been getting on with yous, myself and many Accies fans were sad to see him go, and couldn't really understand the decision.

Well.....as tam has said our defence is Not very good, and lets just say Tena doesn't look any better than the rest of them!!!

  2. The new guy Scott Shepard was really good!  Scored a good goal and tried his best to create stuff working alone up front.

However, I didn't rate the other new guy up front Farid.  Slow as.  Not for me.

A general question I'd like your opinions on.  How do you rate Josh walker, good or bad?

  3. Over the last month, I have become a victim  of a clever scam whilst out shopping.   Simply dropping into my local supermarket turned out for me to be quite an experience! Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you!

Here's how the scam works. Two very good looking, maybe 21 year old girls, fit with tanned complexion, come over to your car as you are putting your shopping in the boot.  They both start cleaning your windscreen, their breasts almost falling out their skimpy t-shirts.  When you thank them and offer them a tip, they'll say "No" but ask you for a lift to a different supermarket.  So you agree and they both get in the back seats.

On the way there, they start undressing, until both are completely Naked.   Then, just  when you pull over to remonstrate,  one of them  climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over your lap, kissing, you, touching you intimately and thrusting herself against you, while the other one steals your wallet!

I've now had my wallet stolen on October 4th, 6th & 7th, twice on 10th and 11th,  and once each on the 14th, 15th & 16th, and twice yesterday!

  4. We've got a 22 man squad, probably half of those are not good enough for league 2 football.

I'd say we do have enough to make a good eleven, but they've never all been on the pitch at the same time!

The biggest problem, is they way they get set up!   Players playing in the wrong positions.

Systems... Is there any plan at all?

Every week we play the same way, and every week it fails.

The change of management has made no difference at all, in fact maybe worse the last two weeks.

If we get set up properly, with the right players playing in their best positions, then we'd be good enough to win a few games and move up the league table.

Am I confident this will happen? .......sadly no!

  5. It's a generation thing!   I reckon how you view this smacking  ban might depend on what decade you were born.

I think the Older guys maybe over 45, who had the threat of being disciplined by the belt at school will be against the new laws.

The younger lads who've had a free pass (at school) to do whatever they want  all their days, will be outraged at the thought of  being disiplined.

Your view on this will be whatever you've been used to growing up yourself.

  6. Where do we start with that rubbish last night?

I was  quite happy  earlier this week,  when the new management team was announced as I could only see us improving!

However, after last night I'm more worried than ever!

Quite clearly Beattie must have picked that starting line up, which is a huge concern if that's a sign of what's to come!!!

WTF  would you leave your  two best strikers (KB & AG) on the bench?

Beattie himself should either play in defence or just not bother playing as he's no striker anymore.

Perhaps we should have started with a clean slate of coaching staff and the new manager should have all his own men with him.

Our tactics are sh!te pumping long aimless balls up to whoevers playing up front each game, we need a structure with two wingers.

The Defence????   Oh dear..... clear out and start again in January.

  7. Seriously though, Looks like Craig Beattie maybe getting  trained up to be the NEXT  City manager, unless another chance comes somewhere else.

Never heard of James McDonaugh before tonight, so can't say much, except I'm sure he'll be looking to prove himself, Which can only be good news for Edinburgh City!

  8. So when are we thinking the manager will be announced?   Maybe today?

I see the CV's had to be in by 12 noon today so maybe an announcement this weekend?

I don't even know who the likely candidates are, as neither Ladbrokes or Wullie Hills have issued "Next Manager" odds as they usually do if it were  Manchester City looking for a new coach.

My guess would be Ancelotti or big Sam to Ainslie Park.

Murrayfield is simply an awful viewing experience. I was OK with it to begin with for the romance of it but having been about a dozen times now the sightlines, temperature leg room and catering facilities are all just the pits.

This with a Stars/Caps crowd of about 7/800? Goodness knows what it will be like this weekend.

A city with Edinburgh's catchment and student/international population should easily get 2/3K on the gate every night with the right rink and team.

I've only just discovered there's and Ice hockey thread on Pie & Bovril!!!  :)

Anyways, I absolutely 200Million% agree with Arab here!

I do love going to watch a game of Ice Hockey,  but HATE having to be in Murrayfield  ice rink to see it!  Utter dump of a venue.

As you say with Edinburgh's catchment area they should be getting much bigger crowds than they do.

I think as in Glasgow, if Edinburgh had an "Arena" with posh seats and modern facilities, certainly I could see them get 2 or 3k fans each weekend.

No sure why you're  being a smart arse  aboot someone that follows the national team.. There's quite a few of us at non league level. It is allowed you know!!

Mr Broon, seems like I've upset you unintentionally, so apologies!

I was merely posting MY OWN VIEWS, about my dislike of international football.

As someone who wouldn't even be interested in a FREE ticket for an international match at Hampden, I find paying out to go abroad mystifying.

However, I quite understand the tartan army members DO enjoy the banter, so fair enough, as I said, each to their own. Have a good trip  Sir!

With the Scotland games Thu-Sun and the only first-class football south of the Tay on Saturday being 2 Irn Bru Cup ties at Falkirk and St Mirren, there should be good crowds in the Lowland + EOS leagues this weekend - particularly with a full program of derby matches.

Yes, a good opportunity to take in some Lowland League action this weekend. Looking forward to it!

I'm not sure which game though,  Obviously Spartans vs W W is there,  but Civil Service v BSC  could be tasty as well.

  12. There's No really any clash though for your casual fan, as  these games are on Saturday afternoon, while Scotland  play on Thursday and Sunday nights.

Unless you're tartan army and actually interested in travelling to watch Scotland play away in slovenia!!! Each to their own I suppose!

  13. Also, we obviously DO NEED a striker, as we never looked like scoring on saturday, or in fact much at all this season!

The balance / set up of the team never seems quite right and we always look very light up front.

I wonder if could maybe have a more attacking formation using two wingers?

Beattie looks a better player as a centre back than he does upfront, from what I seen anyway.

    THIS!!!

When I said Beats had been one of our best players this season, I based that on his great defensive displays so far this season.

So it was disappointing to see him try to play up front against Berwick!

Clearly he's not mobile enough nowadays to play up top and I hope we don't see that again.

Apparently we drew 2-2 with Arbroath in a friendly on Friday night. Tremble Berwick mortals, the only way is up for the MIGHTY City...

I don't know why the club didn't put that on twitter, some people would be interested to hear that!

I'm just delighted to hear we scored two goals......and in the one game. Amazing!

Aye 2 huge losses no doubt. Yesterday was the first time players were obviously having a go at each other. Thomson, Beattie and Walker all went right through folk, which is fine as long as it gets a reaction and isn't just people letting their frustrations get the better of them.

Thommo and Beattie have been / still are, great players. For me our two best players so far this season, both winners and entitled to let off some steam.

Joe Mbu.  A massive loss for city.  Pity we can't get him back in January or whenever he's fit enough to play!!!
