Another in a steady stream of sponsorship announcements. Whilst it’s positive news, it’s also tone deaf and completely indicative of the disconnect between the club and the fans. Nothing on the stadium. Nothing addressing the poor results. Nothing addressing basically any of the substantive issues that fans care about. We were promised improved communication. We were lied to.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, if you can’t connect with the people who already love the club, you’re not going to connect with anyone else. I already know how this one is going to go. Existing supporters being accused of being uncomfortable with change, which would be bollocks. We voted for the change. All we require is the occasional acknowledgement from the club that we actually exist.

Exactly this. I am not a member but season ticket holder. I feel like a mushroom. I hope it will be a lively AGM. I can tolerate a lot of things but being lied to and taken for granted I cannot take.

FYI --- for anyone who  had the unfortunate experience of the live stream for this game and having approached Peterhead FC myself regarding same ---they have admitted liability for a very poor standard of coverage and issued a full refund ----may I suggest (if you haven't already) doing likewise as this is the only way the quality of any future coverage is going to get any better.....

Fair play to Peterhead. Not sure all teams would have done that.

Don’t agree with a lot of this. This squad is more than good enough to be winning games of football in this league. Ellis has inherited and added to one of the better sides in the division and is not getting nearly enough out of it. Where Dempster’s blame comes in is that she appointed him and green lighted the structures around him.

I think we do agree. That was the very point I was making about the squad. They are good enough to be contenders but Ellis is not good enough to bring it together.

  4. I think the club will be quite content with Ellis. He is the Patsy chosen by Dempster to fulfil Haughey's wishes about promoting good for the local community and giving him a lasting legacy in the Southside. Football comes second to people like that. The problem now is who would want to come and take on the hot seat to be told that the first team is playing second fiddle to personal ambitions away from the pitch? In many ways I feel sorry for Ellis, although he seems incapable of helping himself with the squad he has. Our club is slowly being destroyed by these people. We may regret picking up Haughey's golden egg.

Starting Murray was the weakest bit of management imaginable. McHugh has been in decent form. The reason for Murray’s absence against Dumbarton is an open secret and his petulance at Cove has cost us in recent games.

Green lighting him straight back into the team basically tells the guy he can do what he wants and it doesn’t really matter how McHugh or any other striker plays. Stealing a wage at present.

    Do tell, please.

A clueless manager. Not all on him, though. A title winning manager left in the summer. People within the club contributed to that decision. People who were giving it the big one about Championship and Premiership dreams in the summer. Hubris.

    Spot on!

Can someone please explain why Fox is not starting…has there been a fallout with the manager ? Is he not fit enough to play ? Very frustrating. What will the manager say in his interview after the match…nothing new I suspect. Season could be over very soon .

One thing's for sure you won't get any information from the club. I am so sad to see the club I have supported for 70 years descend to be run by this bunch of arrogant self centred plonkers. A burger and chips and a bottle of beer does not cut it for me.

When Ellis was appointed I did find it a bit strange given the money you have, thought you would’ve attracted a bigger name with more experience.

Decent point, big game next week.

It is not surprising. We needed a yes man as we placed our priorities this season on development and community building? rather than the success of the first team. That is why Ray McKinnon left and although not his number 1 fan I would have done the same. You reap what you sow.

We have the players to win this one and it’s time we started utilising them properly. Two sitting midfielders, an isolated striker and a winger who can’t beat a man is not the way to go. If Clyde can stay in the game, i.e 2-0 down or less in the 90th minute, they might fancy nicking something.

It’s been a frustrating spell. We know this team can play. We’ve seen it and it’s been entertaining when they have. We need our best XI on the pitch and, ideally, playing in position.

Keep the predator quiet and that’s more than half the battle. Absolutely no excuses this weekend. We need a reaction from our recent home games. We’re capable of both blowing Clyde away and publicly pissing ourselves. Hopefully the former.

Well, that's it in a nutshell. Sounds easy but Laurie seems to be making it hard for himself. By any account we should be winning this one but based on present form I am nervous. I really do hope that our best players are played in their best positions, loyalty goes out the window now and we take this game by the scruff of its neck. If we do that we really can record a decent win. If that happens I would then be looking for mostly unchanged teams for the foreseeable future. Only when Quitongo and Baynham are available should major decisions have to be made barring injuries of course. I would include Grant but I have no information on his situation.

Is it just me that thinks the post match interviews should have some more thought provoking questions ? In a slump of bad form, routinely losing last minute goals and yet half the interview consisted of talking about our goalkeeper(very good I must say) performance and next weeks match. You watch other teams like Falkirk who question the manager about tactics and lineup which lasts 5-6 minutes, where you get a real insight from the manager. Whereas we literally get no insight from Ellis, just the usual cliche nonsense that lasts a single minute

I actually had typed a post similar to this and cancelled it in case it sounded too negative but I think both the pre match and post match interviews are condescending rubbish. Much more information could be gleaned from them. I don't know whether that is because the interviewer is inexperienced or is not allowed to ask such questions. Other clubs put the manager in the spotlight, no reason why we couldn't.

  11. I believe Ellis will be nervously looking over his shoulder right now. For all the public talk about consolidating our status and giving priority to the community I cannot think Mr Haughey will be happy to keep coughing up for chief executives, commercial managers, and all the unnecessary hangers on if the performance on the pitch of the first team does not come up to scratch. No matter what anyone says or thinks the most important factor to bringing in finance and extra fans is the performance of the first team. Football is a results driven industry and to think we can buck that trend with a unique formula is pie in the sky. If results and performances do not pick up between now and the end of the year I can see changes in the team management personnel. I would much prefer to see an improvement in results.
