Unless we know the real circumstances leading to this decision it is difficult to judge. It may be madness. It may be disciplinary. It may be compassionate. If, for instance, the lad's mental health was suffering for any reason then I applaud the club. Perhaps there were serious family issues. If it was disciplinary there must have been a right royal bust up which I am sure would have leaked by now. I just cannot see the lad saying he would like to leave and Queens saying OK, off you go. He was too valuable for that and what a precedent! It must have been something very serious. Queens have forfeited a decent sum of money which could have been recouped with a transfer. I too am disappointed that we will not see him develop as he surely will.

With the exception of Rudden and Stewart I cannot think of a striker who was readily available in this window I would have wished to see joining us. Samuel obviously was geographical. We are not the attraction right now that we were last season or indeed at the beginning of this season. I am just glad we have done something in the position that we needed. An experienced CB would be great but there are not many around. Maybe Virgil was hinting a desire to join us yesterday?

What is worrying me is that we have some winnable games coming up and we will have missed opportunities to make any meaningful additions by delaying until now. I thought I was the only one who thought the wall positioning was poor. Frankly from that position to score with a grounder either the wall or the keeper's positioning has to be wrong. As the responsibility for wall positioning is down to the goalkeeper that was down to Ferrie I fear. The fact that the decision to award a direct free kick was also wrong makes the whole incident a total fiasco.

I agree with this summation. I also like a 3-5-2 set up but we must realise there is no place for Thomas in that set up. He is a winger and very effective at that but bring him into the middle and he just doesn't perform. He cannot be happy with this and I wonder if we might lose him in this window? Also neither Bruce nor Mauchin are up for these positions yet.

Whilst the referee was a shocker there were two honking teams out there. I could not see what formation Davidson was trying but it certainly did not work. Mauchin was like a wee boy lost, frightened to go forward. There was no movement off the ball and nobody urging them on. We badly need a leader on the park. Bruce was ineffective and this is not his position and sadly today Thomas just was not there. If we do not get reinforcements soon we are heading for Div 1 and obscurity for some time. The next two months will be a turning point in the history of Queens Park. I hope we make the right turn.

I thought with St Johnstone signing Connor Smith that would open the door for Stevie May on loan. I do think we also desperately need a CB.
