Well they were a weak side last season so would expect so unless they have improved the team significantly. The team they had out at Central Park last season was like a schoolboy team and it was a game of men v boys.

It was quite amusing how poor St Mirren were at times. Pinging passes straight out several times. So little creativity and as for number 9, the less said the better. Will need a few decent additions to have any hopes of top 6 again. Cowden fought hard but just ran out of steam last 10 mins.

The penalty claim is a clear hand ball although there’s no intent to handle it. It’s 1 of those that get given often but if it’s given against you it’s gutting as the ball is going out harmlessly and it’s not deliberate handball. Over the 4 group games it’s fair to say Cowden haven’t had the breaks with the referee decisions. All the squad should be proud apart from Smith. Assistant manager should hang his head in shame. Crazy decision making on his part for both cards, especially the 2nd when aware already got a yellow. 9 will need better support in the league games but would expect that to happen against a more even level of opponent. Would be concerned if I was a St Mirren fan, not up to much at all offensively and a few ropey moments at the back. The keeper was extremely lucky his charged down clearance spun the other side of the post first half.

Agree there were some meaty challenges. The championship down there is a big physical league certainly. I preferred to come away from the game with positives as I can see what they are trying to do. Just need a few more signings but at least the club is trying for ambitious ones.

Enjoyable trip down to Preston. Poor home crowd but nice tribute to Craig Brown. Over the 90mins I didn’t think there was much in it, bar the 2 quality finishes from their number 10. The makeshift back 3 looked very uneasy in the first half hour but grew into it as the game wore on. Milne has a bit about him on the ball, he maybe has a chance of making it. Great to see Miovski back on the pitch. He looked lively and contributed well. Also thought Barron did alright when he got on, could do with him playing to his potential this season. 2 pretty clear penalties mysteriously denied by the ref, was just like last season in that regard where the key decisions definitely didn’t even themselves out over the duration. Maybe will get more decisions this season instead Superb support and backing. Hope this continues all season during the rough patches as well as the good times. COYR

He’s been on the radar of bigger teams for a while now. Definitely has a chance. Feel he should follow the Lewis Ferguson route, Aberdeen stepping stone then stardom.
