  1. On a serious note, Elgin being a shithole has been a common theme on P&B, why? Are people just bitter at having to travel so far north to reach it? Having lived in the central belt for 5 years, living in Elgin is luxury in comparison
  2. Gav being one of them, that's probably why we brought in Aitken last week
  3. Ah ok, Auld Git's post before mine makes sense now
  4. Statement on the official website that a player has been charged under the gambling act but no names mentioned and can't see word of this anywhere else, anyone in the know?
  5. Not saying we're going to win it but given the start to our season and the goals that the Kane and Sutherland partnership are banging in, I definitely think the 16/1 available with 1/3 place terms is a price with a hell of a lot of value if you fancy Elgin to finish top 3.
  6. Feel it will be harsh on McHale if Hoban went straight into the team. Mackay certainly sounds a promising addition, wasn't he hailed as the next big thing a couple of seasons ago? Sounds a good replacement after O'Keefes injury anyway. Hadn't heard the rumours about Archie, that would have been an interesting addition. Congrats to Rabin on his call up to Iraq U23's, although gonna be prove to be a huge pain to us if he continues to get call ups
  7. Good job we only do well against youth teams eh?
  8. I'm one of Shane's biggest critics but I don't hate this idea. I wouldn't be surprised if Gavin's thinking is giving him some responsibility can be the kick up the arse he needs to screw the nut and become a team player, if it works, we'll reap the benefits.
  9. Did the club find someone to replace Louise? Going to really miss the highlights coverage
  10. As a SPFL/SFL side, never. We didn't even have our first penalty shootout until last season against Arbroath, which we lost.
  11. Andrew MacDonald proved to be one of our best loan players of recent times in his last spell with us, considering its our most problematic position, it's a signing to be very positive about. O'Keefe is lighting fast and scored one of the fastest hat tricks I've ever seen tonight. Pace down the wing is something we've lacked since Craig Thomson was on loan a few years ago. Keeping Hester is a good signing, I think him and Sutherland will link up very well together and he's a huge huge improvement on McLeish. Dingwall offers much more energy and legs that JP didn't have Bronsky is fully fit after missing most of last season This is the first time in I don't know how long where the players we're bringing in are better than what we had before, so why wouldn't we be feeling positive? We're usually sitting with a bunch of trialists at this point that only get signed out of desperation, the fact Gav chose targets and went out and got them early is positive for us. So for Elgin fans, plenty to be positive about
  12. In the NS article about this, Price was talking about Darryl's aerial threat and being a nuisance for defenders, that suggested to me that he's talking about playing him up front surely?
  13. Anything that rattles McInally is a good thing. So basically Shane forcing through his transfer to Peterhead to get out of Elgin ASAP made him miss out on the chance of returning to full time football with Caley, hopefully he'll learn a lesson from this.
  14. Always feel podcasts with one person talking is pointless, no one to challenge his opinions or offer a balance, so it's just an entire podcast of someone ramming their opinions down your throat. Personally don't enjoy this guy as I disagree with a lot of his opinions, his sense of humour is too cringeworthy and he's far too negative but good luck to him
  15. I also agree 100% with Elginer. Been clear and obvious all season he wanted away anyway. We should have sold him for more in the summer when we had the chance.
  16. Under 16's go free at all games now. Fantastic move from the club
  17. That's a huge surprise, I like Ali a lot and he's way too good to be at Rothes
  18. I know I'm just repeating myself now but we should have sold him in the summer, it was so obvious that it was gonna turn out this way
  19. He's just spent the summer trying to get a move away from the club and disrupting/unsettling the club ahead of a massive season, it'd be incredibly niave of him to expect that to just blow over and be forgotten already, the best way to achieve that is by doing his talking on the pitch, not throw snide around comments and play silly games on Twitter. While a minority of the fans take it way too far and they need to get a grip, you could see this coming a mile off after his summer antics, which id why we'd have been just as well selling him.
  20. Off the pitch, he absolutely is a problem, no player of a football club should conduct themselves in that manner publicly, just look at the furor that Dembele has caused with the Celtic fans. It's clearly had a slight effect on his on field performance too but the point of my post isn't really about matters on the pitch.
  21. There's yer Shane Sutherland having a go at fans on Twitter 4 games into the season. I wrote this post 3 months ago.... We should have taken the money and ran IMO Edited to add: looking further into his Twitter activity, he's also hinted to Thomas Reilly about wanting to leave and his likes are full of tweets from Brora's account (who had a bid for him rejected last week). Honestly wish we had sold him when we had the chance, his commitment to Elgin just clearly isn't there anymore.
  22. The pitch passed an inspection yesterday ahead of the Stirling game. If it took them that quickly to sort it after Saturday, why on earth was it left in the nick it was for the Cowdenbeath game despite repeated warnings from referees in previous games? Anyway, moving on, let's just hope we can carry on our good start to the season with another 3 points on Saturday
  23. We've had plenty last minute call offs, even one at Cowdenbeath at 2.30pm last season but we don't have a leg to stand on in this case, waterlogged/frozen pitches are down to nature, today's call off was a club trying to get away with using a pitch that was clearly unplayable and has been for months, Tatters justification of the other referees passed the pitch so he thought this one would too isn't acceptable, it's a disgrace it's got to this point.
