  1. A good Edinburgh attack comes to nothing and another knock on. Shoemann has been carrying really well for Edinburgh though.
  2. Ospreys loosing their 10 now. Hyperextended the knee in the tackle. Looked painful.
  3. Shaun Edwards presence being felt there. Ripping the ball in the tackle as well, clear Ospreys tactic
  4. Watching Ospreys vs Edinburgh on Premier Sports 2 at the moment. So far so good. Certainly not feeling teary eyed for BBC Alba that’s for sure.
  5. There are people born since ‘98 who are now adults who’ve yet to see Scotland play in a major tournament. How disconnected from the National team can they be because of the lack of success? To be fair the SRU left themselves in huge debt which they have around £2.5mil of it left to pay off by redeveloping Murrayfield when they did. Club rugby, especially Glasgow has saw massive increases in support both from supporters and financially from the Union and sponsors over the last few years ultimately due to success. Can remember attending Glasgow games where you’d only get 300 supporters going along when the played at Hughendon. That was only 10 years ago. They’ve now sold out every home game at Scotstoun since 2015 which is capped at 7351 currently. There’s talk now of redeveloping the North stand to increase capacity to 12000, which if Glasgow manage to sell out as they do now would be unprecedented for club rugby in Scotland. Ultimately this is all due to success, both on and off the field and the success of the International team recently has certainly helped to. Unfortunatly any attempt to redevelop or build a new stadium will take money away from the game unless they manage to get investment from a Scottish sugar daddy, which there are little to none.
  6. But then you'd essentially be boosting the coffers of the OF, which would cause a massive uproar with the rest of the League and have accusations being thrown at the SFA of favouritism.
  7. Yes. Very poor miss management by the then SFA board. Will the current board make the same mistakes? More than likely
  8. The WRU took out a £60mil loan to pay for the building of the Millennium Stadium which in total cost £121mil. £46mil of that was gifted to them by the Millennium Commission. They then only had to find £15mil to pay for it, which im assuming they got from sports funds and the government.
  9. Pretty sure I saw on Twitter the day that a decision will be made next week? SRU would never move. Not with the real estate they currently have.
  10. Pretty sure the B&I Cup was disbanded.
  11. Watsonions won the Melrose7’s this afternoon. Last time a Domestic club won was Melrose in 2011. Dragons coughed up a 26-10 HT lead to lose 34-32 at Zebre. They are 3 years without an away win in league so no real prospect of them upsetting Scarlets (even if they field another much changed side) at the Millennium Stadium.
  12. Believe Rennie mentioned in the Clubhouse after the game of capacity being 10K for the semi.
  13. With what money? It’s taken nearly 26 years for the SRU to pay off the debt incurred by redeveloping Murrayfield in ‘93. Any debt incurred will be much higher and take just as long if not more to clear knowing how incompetent the SFA is.
  14. If Edinburgh beat Ulster next week, that’s 3rd place guaranteed I believe. A Glasgow win and Munster loss will see Glasgow take top spot.
  15. Ireland will do what they always do at the World Cup and bottle it. They’ve yet to go beyond the QFs. If they keep up form they may have a chance but I doubt it.
  16. The only players I recognise from that photo is Dougie Hall, Al Kellock, Ali Hogg, Mike Blair, Dan Parks, Sean Lamont and Chris Paterson. Don’t recognise any of the others. Some I haven’t even heard of!
  17. I wasn’t really around when the Reivers were around. Any idea why Borders fans wouldn’t support there regional team?
  18. Traditionally Edinburgh have been Glasgow’s rivals, but with Edinburgh not really performing well until recently, most Glasgow fans haven’t really seen them as rivals. Our “Derby” games tend to be Munster and to a lesser extent Ulster. With Edinburgh’s recent upswing in performance though, that may change over the next few seasons.
  19. Probably don't want to risk being investigated for fielding a "weakened" team like Northampton did last year.
  20. Not seen any citing news over Turner so he can consider himself a very lucky boy.
  21. The likely hood of it ever happening is slim, but if Glasgow could play in the Challenge cup for a season and come out on top, it would probably give them a massive boost for Champions cup rugby.
  22. What is the serious likely hood that the Sevco will go bust again at some point? If all they're reporting are loses, can't be too far away. What would they call themselves then? Neogers?
  23. Very frustrating to watch tonight and another season where were already out of Europe. Smash on in the league now and end the year unbeaten domestically this season.
  24. Pretty sure Toonie has visited several footie clubs to see their coaching set-ups. Barcelona was one of them I think.
