  1. I'm all for the pyramid opening up and look forward to seeing the clubs that I like reach the dizzy heights of L2 and beyond. There are some excellent clubs, with decent supports and grounds that make for brilliant away days that I would very much like to see climb the leagues. Opening up the pyramid (and hopefully getting automatic relegation from L2) is undoubtedly a big positive for Scottish football.

That being said, I really hope Stranraer completely sword the chicken man and his soldiers of love and send them back into the abyss.

I never went to this game. However I still maintain that the following week against Arbroath when Sandy Stewart took charge had the best first half performance from any Ayr side I’ve ever seen. Arbroath couldn’t get near us for 45 minutes and we utterly destroyed them. It was 3-0 going on about 5 or 6.

Agreed, Arbroath the week after was almost a carbon copy. They just couldn't live with us and we could have scored many more.

At that point I had a lot of hope about where the season could still go. Then we somewhat fizzled out and a global pandemic hit.

I'd be happy with Whittaker.  Did reasonably well at part time level previously and ambitious.

Whether he'd want to come to us now though is highly doubtful.

I would to tbh, post was more about how you're no getting him.

Well I'd like to hope not anyway, him and Brown have a pretty good working relationship.

Not sure if this is the right thread for a post like this, but here goes. We may end up in the play-offs, in which case this post is maybe a couple weeks early.

Yesterday marked the last league home game for Ayr, meaning, the last regular league game with the old North Terrace in its current look.

North side of the ground is being given a much needed redevelopment over next season and will certainly change the look of the old place. The plans are very popular with the Ayr support. Thankfully, there will still be terracing and the new stand will come with some additional seating (around 800 seats I think) along with a roof. A significant hospitality space and clubhouse is the main part of the build.

Just over a year on and the build is almost complete. 2/3rds of the terracing remains, with around 800 seats and a large hospitality area.

Has certainly changed the look of the old place, but not too much.

  5. Just throwing my 2p worth into the conversation, feel free to tell me to f**k off. I am genuinely amazed that McIntyre seems safe in his job. 10 (ten) losses on the bounce, GD of -27 in that run.

Having had a quick look at the results, in the final third of the season, Arbroath have conceded 4 or more goals in 50% of games.

Regardless of poorly assembled squad / injuries / known relegation was likely for a while, that's just mental.

  6. Hearing that Mehmet smacked his head off the ground after slipping at one of the goals and it was likely a bad concussion that eventually caused him to collapse.

They went to get the defib initially as a precaution as there had been no one near him and he was drifting in and out of consciousness.

Never nice to see something like that, hope he's doing okay.

  7. Up Stirling way over the weekend so I'm going to be heading along to this, quite like Forthbank. Stand out fixture of the weekend, may the best team win.

Tempted by the idea to go in the terracing, although what's the view like from the ends? Is the terracing a bit shallow?

Anyway back for Charlie now Timmins is back?. There is a very good goal keeper there who did his best work under Timmins or is it down to other stuff not just form.

Down to other stuff i'm led to believe. Well, his absence from the team so far has been - although I guess that doesn't necessarily mean things can't be put behind and a fresh start occurs.

I would expect Charlie to move on though.
