sent an email to the club earlier expressing my fears for the club if we sign Goodwillie.  Jamie Swinney replied saying he has forwarded the email to the board.   It will not make any difference but wanted to have my little voice heard.

    What email did you use?

liam@falkirkfc.co.uk  Got it from the contacts page of the club website under "football administration"

It`s the "thanks for your co-operation in making this move possible" I`m not getting. That would be what I expected to read if it was Dowds returning from Arbroath. "Co-operation" would suggest that you were keen to get him back?? I`m going to assume they meant the original loan move to Elgin and it`s just a poorly worded statement.

I read that statement as thanking Elgin for taking him off our hands for a while in the first place.

  3. I've had to watch all our games in Falkirk TV or the away team TV since covid began.  Not missed a game in that time home or away.  This is due to having some vulnerable health conditions and not wanting to put myself at risk.   While watching it on your computer is not the same as actually being there, you get used to it.  I even buy catering packs of Bovril so I can have the compulsory meaty salty drink at half time.  So if it turns out to be only 3-4 games, it will be ok for everyone.  Plus you get to hear Louis say "on this occasion" X number of times a game :)

  4. Most notable change in the team on Saturday was that Morrison was partnering Keena in the middle rather than out on the wing.  Williamson got a few crosses in the box where it would have been Morrison in other games.  Could be a great change for us if it works out.   Morrison could be formidable to defend against in that position.

Interesting how the bleeding heart lefty brigade are all up in arms against someone who was never convicted in a criminal court.

Would have thought that you would be prepared to show some mercy towards someone who has been punished and kept himself out of trouble over a good number of years.

    Ah well, there you go!

I'd rather have a bleeding heart than no heart at all.

    Citation please

From the BBC news website:  Please note, the figures below are just for England, Scotland's figures will likely be similar ratios scaled for the lower population,

    What are the scenarios?

In the most optimistic scenario, which assumes Omicron has low immune escape and booster jabs are highly effective, the model projects between 1 December and 30 April in England there will be:

    • 20.9 million infections
    • 175,000 hospital admissions
    • 24,700 deaths

In the most pessimistic scenario, which assumes Omicron has high immune escape and booster jabs are less effective, the model projects between 1 December and 30 April in England there will be:

    • 34.2 million infections
    • 492,000 hospital admissions
    • 74,900 deaths

There is my source.  Science tends to be accurate.  Opinions (including mine, including yours) tend not to be.  Go by your own opinion if you want.  It's people who do that who are prolonging / making worse the situation.

  7. Who ever at the club decided it is safe to have a drunken night out in Liverpool while we are into what will probably become the worst part of the pandemic so far should be sacked immediately.  The medical advice is not to have christmas parties.    Expect some of the squad coming down with covid within the next 10 days.   F&cking unbelievable.

  8. OK, time to think outside the box as no obvious solutions seem to be imminent.   We are in an "all hands to the pump" situation.  Can we call out for urgent help from former big names connected to Falkirk who might still have a soft spot for us?

    - Sheerin out immediately.
    - Holt out immediately as no self respecting manager will put up with that scenario.
    - Get Totten back for a few weeks until new manager is appointed.
    - Need immediate motivational input to current players from proven achievers - advice from Crunchie, Stainrod, Gillespie, (insert names here) etc?
    - Captaincy taken away from Hetherington.  Drop Hetherington.

You can add or replace to this list.  We need to do something right for a change.

  9. Brian Rice is a non-starter.  I believe it has been reported a number of times he is fighting a significant gambling problem which has interfered with his job in the recent past.  Don't get me wrong, many of us have significant problems in one way or another, including me, but I am not looking to manage an organisation in a high pressure environment.  Time to put his name to bed as an option for us and wish him the best for the future.
