  1. Second thoughts, maybe MC will jettison him next week if the take over goes through.
  2. Should hear about the take over this week. If it does go through I hope MC wants to bring in a new manager. Four up front towards the end of the game today and we can't score a goal against part timers. Wonder what Ray's excuse will be this time? Just to add insult to injury it looks like David Mitchell won the game for Clyde today.
  3. To change the subject here is a little of my Falkirk porn.
  4. Ooops, brain freeze. thanks for pointing out my typo.
  5. Looks like Mike Campbell's girlfriend Swany Vazquez has a decade plus track record as a realtor in New York and became Director along with Mark Campbell of Markel Real Estate Group a couple of years ago. I don't think it would be a stretch to imagine a sizeable amount could be earned by selling expensive properties in New York. Maybe the money is coming from her? Either way, I really hope this goes ahead and we get at least the grass pitch and the academy back and we start to climb back to where we should be.
  6. Sun story in a nutshell: Man won't start a job until company takeover is complete and his contract of employment is sorted out. One of a long list of reasons I have never bought a Sun "newspaper".
  7. Arrrggh !!! Sometimes I hate being a Bairn, this is one of them. I joke to people who ask what team I support that I've been a Bairn since the late sixties and as a result my life has been nothing but pain and disappointment. Of course there have been great times here and there and we might be on the cusp of great times ahead if Campbell's plan comes true. BUT, after everything I've read on Pie and Bovril recently it seems very unlikely it's going to go ahead. Rich (to be confirmed) and internet invisible guy comes from nowhere, offers to get rid of the board we all want booted, promises us what we have all been dreaming of and we are all in our sheds looking for pitchforks and torches. It's about time something good happens for us fans who have put up with crap for years. Please, please, please let this work.
  8. I am generally positive about the new developments. I must admit though it is unsettling there is apparently no on-line trail of his activities in New York.
  9. I think we are right to be sceptical, after all as Bairns fans we have not exactly been used to unexpectedly positive things happening to our team. But if this guy is going to spend £7 million on us, that is peanuts to an investor buying a football club. If he is a property investor in America, he could have made that money if a small handful of property sales. What I am trying to say is, in the scheme of things he is not offering outlandish amounts of money, which we would be rightly suspicious of. He is proposing a relatively small amount over a five year period. £7 million to the likes of you and me is an enormous amount, but to people looking to own a professional football team that is pocket change. I think we can be less suspicious and a little more welcoming.
  10. Surely 7 million over 5 years wouldn't be much more than what it currently takes to run the club over that time. That would leave no money for any kind of improvement plans?
  11. Cart before the horse. Let's get out of league 1 first.
  12. Could any of our current board be described as "diligent"?
  13. Well, tentatively excited about the new club statement. Sounds a bit too good to be true. If it does work out sounds great to me.
  14. Only 1-0 up against practically the worst team we will ever come against. Not impressed.
  15. Oh well, didn't expect the board to swallow their pride an apologise publicly. That's good. But the damage has already been done to our reputation. There will be people all over the world who will remember the Falkirk name as that wee team in Scotland with racist supporters because of the board's original statement.
  16. yes it works fine. I listen to the commentary regularly.
  17. We all expected a smaller squad for this league. On the plus side our signings so far have been much better than at least I was expecting, but yes, it is worrying we don't have a few more at this stage. Having only two outfield players on the bench was embarrassing and looked more like a BB sunday team than a professional football team.
  18. I know it's a non starter for many reasons but it would be great if at half time us in the South Stand could walk along the far side of the pitch and go and sit in the north stand, if we were kicking in that direction. Something like the bridge at brockville but with no away fans.
