The lady is a genuine poster and not an alias.

thank you for this.  You can probably tell I'm not used to forums like this.  I have been watching for a long time, enjoying the banter, and it's a great place to get news about the team even before it appears on the club site.

If you think it's Piracy, or Jimmy as it was yesterday, can you take it to a mod, instead of putting the put into what might well be a 60 year old fellow fan?

Thanks for that DeeBairn.  I am what I said I am.  I am upset right now, I thought joining in with a few posts would be fun and because I don't live in Falkirk and no-one I know here is a Bairn, I thought I would feel welcome here.    So much for that.  cheers for being reasonable DeeBairn, you are the first that has been.

  3. You guys who have attacked me by telling me to f**k off, saying I'm a troll, saying I'm not a middle aged woman and worse - I used to like watching your banter on Pie and Bovril but I now know what some of you are really like.  I posted one post saying I was disappointed that we got beat in the friendly and I got personally attacked by a number of you for days after.

OK, I might not know as much about the technical side of football as you do, that doesn't mean you have to personally attack me.  If you think my opinion is wrong you could have explained that is the case and I would have taken your criticism on board.   Instead your childish insults have just driven me away from here.  I'm sure many of you will be happy about this.

I am a middle aged woman pushing 60, I am not a troll, shit does not come out my mouth.  No one has ever told me to f**k off in my life, I'm sad that I had to experience that on a Falkirk forum when I love the team every bit as much as any of you do.

It was a mistake trying to contribute to this, it has been a negative experience for me.

And there I was defending female pundits on a World Cup thread, and you're destroying my argument. You're letting down the sisters.

Disagreeing is expected, I expect banter but please don't attack me personally..   If it's any consolation, I don't like female commentators, perhaps it's my age and have been listening to male commentators for decades.

Missed the new rules. Thought I was being mild as Tynieness was saying it was ok to tell him to f**k off. Which I wish he would tbh as he's either an idiot or taking the pish, the latter more likely.

I am she not he.  Please stop the personal attacks.  Have a little decency.

I hope to be the last poster to respond to this numbskull/troll. It was a training match against decent opposition to prepare them for a Champions League Qualifier ffs!

Here we go again.  I an not a troll or a numbskull.  There is no need to make personal attacks.

I was pretty calm, in fact I still am.

But claiming that you’re worried about the squad after 1 meaningless friendly is ludicrous enough then to say that players should be fit enough to jump back into matches. You have a full time athlete, even taking 2-3 weeks out and it a completely different ball game in terms of general fitness.

I didn't say I was worried about the squad, in fact, I have never been more excited about a season as this one due to the signings we have made.  I said I hope the performance tonight didn't indicate what might happen in the coming season.   I did say I know it will take them a while to gel together.  Forgive me for hoping coming performances get better than this one.   I wouldn't say that was "brutal".   No need to attack.  We are all Bairns,  COYB

    Your posts are brutal!

Have ever played football at amateur or even semi pro level? If you have, you might actually think about what you say before letting the verbal diarrhoea flow freely from your gub.

Calm down.  You disagree with me, that's fine.  That does not mean shite is coming out of my mouth, like you say.

  9. I wouldn't be a Bairn if I didn't want them to win every game, even meaningless friendlies and then be disappointed when we don't.  I know the game didn't really matter tonight, but every time 11 guys pull on a Falkirk shirt I want them to win, even though I know that's not always going to happen.  Sometimes passion gets in the way of rationality.  Hence "Long Suffering Bairn".  Peace.

oh dear, aren't we all falkirk fans, and entitled to voice different opinions on a falkirk forum? (waiting to see how long it takes for someone to tell me to GTF)

I agree.   Only here because Falkirk has been a major part of my life since the early 70's.  We should be able to have whatever opinions we have.  Let's all try and get on.  COYB

Calm down with the personal attacks, sort of wankery I'd expect in the Dundee thread.

Just because I have a different opinion than some on here doesn't mean I have to be told to F*ck off by several people.  Didn't expect that.  There's banter which is great, but I'm only here because I am a Bairn through and through so maybe some of you can save your anger for someone else please.  COYB

Firstly, it is nonsense. In almost all physical competitive sports, rest periods and finding peak performance at the right times is absolutely crucial. In a sport like football at pro level which carries a need for alertness and sharpness, it takes absolutely no time to fall just off your plateau, and at that level it becomes very obvious when a player is at 80 or 90% versus 100. Yous is an overly sinplistic arguement along the lines of "they get paid to play football, how can they be burnt out".

Secondly, what is this other pish? Where did I mention male/female?

Male or female you can get squarely to f**k if you are going to drop that in when someone disagrees with you.

    such a gentleman.

I can get a new job and sit behind a desk and answer phones. That isn't dependent on being able to anticipate the movement and thinking of three or four other players.

These things do take time, but I have no doubts at all that as the season improves  this will pick up. The first game is always pretty much random, it's 20 or 22 players getting 45 minutes on the park, and someone usually wins by a couple. I'll be looking for improvement by the third game in.

This is why I'm a big fan of the new cup format, it's a crap cup anyway, but the group stage is good training.

Fair enough.  I wouldn't be Bairn if I wasn't impatient for success :)

I don't buy the "not been in training long" excuse.  Any other profession is expected to  perform to a standard, regardless if they have been out for a few weeks.   I get that it will take a while for them to gel together, but football isn't rocket science, a footballer, if fit, should be able to put in a decent shift.  That said, I'm a tiny bit frustrated I wasted a couple of hours of my day off listening to the game.   COYB

Nae offence here, but that is clearly absolute nonsense.

Nonsense?   A fit player should be able to put in a decent shift (true).   Regret I wasted a couple of hours (true).  I will have to defer to your superior male football mind and get back to my knitting. :)
