Random useless fact, 6 different scorers today, along with 5 different scorers in the win at Edinburgh Uni.  That seems quite statistically unlikely to me but I do not have the skills to prove it. 🤔

    Proved it for ya.

  2. It is nice to see that the situation has resolved itself in such a dignified fashion. Although I have expressed reservations about his man management style - he seemed to let his frustration get the better of him quite often - Maurice has always tried to do his best for the club and I wish him well for the future. The timing is good too. Too often we have appointed a new man who has had little time to shape the playing staff for an upcoming season. This way, we can get the right man in with plenty of time to get acquainted with the club and playing staff to enable a push up the table next season.

I hope you can keep updating us when possible, it’s greatly appreciated, especially with a club like ours where the fans don’t have the the traditional outlets for information like bigger clubs do. Nothing to apologise for.

The Berwick boy is a troll pure and simple, just need to look at his profile to see the last time he posted on a Berwick thread was September last year, not far off 6 months. Ever since he has just popped up now and again posting gibberish on the Cowden thread.

Indeed. And let's face it, he is a bell end - so deserves to be called out. monthecoo is just one person and is entitled to his own opinion - much of which I happen not to share. Please continue Nelly to post your helpful and informative updates and reactions. You are a fan first, like the rest of us, with the interests of the club very much at heart.

Not seen you round these parts for a while but good to see your unrequited crush on Maurice continues.

It's part of the conditions on his occasional day release that he doesn't access a computer....

Absolutely immense mate, total respect to you and I know there were a few other fans through there last night as well.

Someone should print off even the first paragraph and pin it in the dressing room, not to shame the players or anything like that, but just to show the commitment and love that loyal fans still have for the club, despite the difficult position.

Total respect to monthecoo,  Funny that. I was going to say exactly  the same thing about that first paragraph. Print it off in large letters and pin it to the wall. It speaks for all of us, in spades. The players need to understand what it means to pull on a Cowdenbeath shirt every game.

  6. Not sure I agree with Wullie & Pele in totality. What I saw today was a well organized team that grew into the game and were comfortable by the end. The defence and goalkeeping were excellent. There are clearly some problem positions. Right back for instance. Bisland had some issues today (and Thomson by all accounts against Edin Uni). Weekes at left mid was physically ineffective and folk tended  to get rid of the ball too quickly and aimlessly. We did, on occasion, play the ball on the deck and looked decent but I'm not sure the forward line won a ball in the air that was hoofed up too on many occasions. I do think we are within a couple of the additions of the right kind of player, mainly in midfield, of showing signs of  a potentially decent side based on today.

I’m not getting excited by beating two out of three teams who were absolute dogshit and if they took any of their chances could be leaving with points. The last two games had keeper howlers at important times in the match.

I agree it’s two good results and that there’s miles of improvement but it’s a hard watch and I don’t bank on any more points coming to Central Park until we play any of the last 3 league opponents next time round.

I would be stunned but delighted if Cowden are still in the draw* in a couple of weeks.

    * give Bo’ness a pasting

That's the spirit. Nice and positive.

Gretna manager officially away. The last 2 games I have seen Gretna their manager has left after the game. I was at a game at Kelty in 2019 when their manager got sacked after the game.

For some reason getting hosed (not in the dictionary and a "Really poor use of the Queen’s English")  by the Blue Brazil has been the death knell for a number of managers over the years.

That's twice where a midweek crowd has beaten the next Saturday attendance. Food for thought perhaps?  Less competition with other matches, youth football, visits to IKEA and so on. Interesting.

Kelty, East Fife & Rovers all at home today. Maybe the 20 or 30 or so curious, neutral, nothing else to do had their own games to go to.

Hope ruddys injury isn’t too bad unfortunately he was limping badly after the game. Anyone know where love was aswell?

Spoke to Ruddy on the way out. Dead leg. Love was not on the agenda  and definitely missing from the fattie no 15 wading into the stand !

P.S. I thought Farrell did well too and looked very assured. Goalie-wise, I would say we are in reasonable shape.

As is your right. 🤔  This is weird.

Aye. Slightly surreal. Anyway back to the game. What was the crowd today ? I would have said about 200. Hopefully Maurice will do us an interview soon to elaborate on his Courier piece. I couldn't help but notice that his touchline managerial style is what might be termed erm 'vulgarily vocal'.

P.S. Was that Nelly getting involved when their goalie booted the ball over the stand in a fit of pique about the second goal and into the fairground ? Must have given someone on the dodgems a fright. 😅

Really disrespectful phrase hoping you “give Bo’ness a pasting”Do you have a problem with Bo’ness United?

Whit ? Being a bit over-sensitive, methinks. A bit like the Gretna donkey.  I want us to win and if possible win well as with any of the teams we play against obvs.
