  1. Maybe I've been kidding myself about the quality in this current squad. The spine of the team, Gill, Barr, Hutton, Bucks seems to be there. What I've not understood is how we have continually re-signed players, i.e. Mullen, Buchanan, Miller etc who have been a consistent in sides struggling at the bottom end of the league for the last  few years.

Can’t see that happening. We need points now. If Renton had been playing today things would surely have been different.

No do not agree about Renton at all. Mind you Mahady ran his socks off without him really having any chances  created for him up front. Passing to each other was still awful as most time we gave the ball away and it came back at us.

Headed along to this today.  Shite game of football.  Neither team looked like scoring until the Cowdenbeath keeper had a complete brain fart.

Home and away fans all saying hello to each other was strange.  Seemed like everyone knew everyone else from both sets of fans.

Lower league football can be odd.  I’d have assumed this being a derby there would be segregation and polis etc.

Thanks for your money. Why now do sets of fans have to want to kick the shit out of each other ? Our rivals have always been the Pars and we have the Beasties, generally speaking, on the mantle piece. Regardless of which there has been no bother between the fans. Seriously what is wrong with you ?

  4. Kudos to the board in putting this new management team in place and by doing so have have made another signature statement along with the signing of Bucks and O'Connor about their intentions regarding direction of travel for the club. I always found it baffling that, under Bollan, along with his many faults about tactics, selections and substitutions the players did not seem to develop at all. Maurice and Scott, as well as having management experience have a coaching background l and so I would expect to see some development happening with the players. Welcome to The Blue Brazil to the two of them. Onwards and upwards mes amis.

Thank you for saving us Bollan and helping us stop thinking ourselves as bottom feeders. Time to move forward and get us back to where we should be emoji4.png

As you will know, I have unashamedly have been calling out on Bollan's management for a long time now. I refuse to sugarcoat Bollan's tenure at the club. I do not accept that he personally saved us from relegation. The players on the pitch did - with the assistance of a debatable refereeing decision. Bollan's tactics, player selections and substitutions have proved to have been abysmal and I doubt whether many of my compadres will dissent from the view that Cowden have been a hard watch since Bollan took over and this year he has been supported by the board with additions which should have made the squad more than capable of challenging in what should have been a decent league campaign. He is gone and that is the right but this has been a tardy decision. I do not know who, on the board, has the final decision on  managerial appointments. The last one or two have been unfortunately not right for the club. I sincerely hope, this time, that they get the process and the decision right or relegation to non-league more than beckons.

Certainly a hard game next week in the Scottish Cup, Strollers are no mugs.

They have lost only 3 games this season out of  19 against Dalbeatie on the opening day, Spartans and Bo'ness.

They have beat Bonnyrigg the runaway leaders in the Lowland League and Rangers B and drew with Celtic B.

They really punch above their weight a club with a low fan base even for the Lowland League, Gary Jardine always seems to get a decent squad of players together and gets the most out of them, much like when he was at Edinburgh City.

Seen Tam and Shaun Steven at the game spying for Gary.

What utter bollocks. We should be a more than decent SFPFL team and with the squad we have we should be strolling into this one with no particular sense of trepidation. Bollin out.

If this is a team battling for survival in a very important game I am deeply concerned.

    Absolutely appalling first half.

Either the players are not playing for the manager or the manager can no longer get results out of their team selection.

Either way something has to change and fast and brave bold leadership decisions required.

This was utterly  f***ing honking. We are a team bereft of ideas, passion or confidence. Bollan out.

  8. We were awful first half. Forfar were much the better team and could have been at least 2 goals up. Might as well not have bothered to put on a midfield as the hoofball we inevitably resorted to by-passed the middle of the park completely. Second half was much better and we played some decent stuff on the ground and definitely looked the part when we moved the ball around quickly. Thought Clarke had an excellent game. Apart from the goal, which was excellent, Thomson had an off day, which is unusual for him. Lets hope the boys took some confidence from the second half performance as  they looked woefully short of it first half. We absolutely need Morrison fit asap as the centre mid looks to be lacking with nobody good enough to really support Hutton, which he needs.
