  1. I've felt that there is a strong over reliance on Goodie to produce throughout the team for a while. Far too often when they are playing badly or struggling in midfield we resort to punting long balls to Goodie in the hopes he can do something. Its to his credit that he has been able to do so but its clear that if the opposition manage to cut his options we become toothless. the problem is there doesn't ever seem to be a plan B which we can fall back on to change our style of play and give ourselves more options. I still feel we can have a good season but the danger signs are there and if something happens to Goodie we're pretty much screwed.
  2. I went to a BC Lions game a couple of years ago when i was over. Its entertaining and the differences in downs and the size of the end zones are enough to to make it an interesting change from the NFL. Unfortunately, i don't have BT sport to really be able to keep up to date with it.
  3. Great signing there. Bit of a shocker as would have thought he could’ve been playing for a full time club.
  4. Great news about McStay. There aren't many changes from the team at the end of the season but given the improvement of the team its not something to be too worried about. Hopefully lennon can get a few more players to really strengthen the squad and we can actually get a good start to the season this time.
  5. More than a little worried about the fact she says discussions are still ongoing. Just what is required to kill this idea off?
  6. Until some old firm muppet puts it back on the table [emoji35]
  7. Celtic don't have the resources to make it happen, they just like to think they are gods gift to scottish football rather than the root cause of all its ills. Lets be perfectly honest, if all teams got the crowds that they historically got then all teams would have more wealth to potentially spend on youth development. However as scottish football has become more and more dominated by the old firm, the rest of scottish football has seen their crowds drop, the standard of football drop and the cost of the pleasure of going to games increase. Now we are getting told to accept more interference and dilution of standards so that the old firm can interfere more. Quite frankly doing so will see whats left of local supports wither and die and the old firm finally getting what they wanted all along, the chance to move to another league where they can play teams that match their "status"
  8. Why would i ask for guarantees? There are no such things. I just don't understand why you think that having teams playing against L2 teams is going to be any more effective in developing players than having players out on loan to teams throughout the leagues, getting various levels of experience in actual competitive matches?
  9. Maybe it does but they are hardly at a level which is going to push these players to the level where they are going to compete for international places are they, especially when the colts teams will have nothing to play for against teams trying to win games to win the league, promotion or avoiding a drop.
  10. They can also play against better opposition as the loans aren't restricted to league 2 which if the whole purpose is to develop players to compete nationally should be more productive for them?
  11. Comments like those are exactly why the old firm get accused of bullying. Saying it’s going to happen irrespective of the fact that 75% (or more) fans are against it is disgraceful
  12. Here another question, if they are willing to stump up around £300k over two seasons towards getting clubs to accept this idea, why aren’t they using these funds now to promote coaching, loaning players out for experience etc. I assume there are a variety of ways this money could be used to promote youth development that wouldn’t negatively impact in one of your countries senior league competitions.
  13. Why in God’s name does anyone think there would be tv money for this? No one is going to want to watch an u20s team playing a league 2 team esp when the game is effectively meaningless. Heck most people would watch two decent league 2 teams playing for title. Old firms fans are only interested in their first teams and lording it over the rest of Scottish football.
  14. i'm sorry but these proposals are a load of crap. The SPFL seems quite happy to invalidate one of their league competitions to make up for their own and the SFAs inability to create a structure in Scotland that brings young players through. However the people that will need to suffer this garbage are those of us who chose to support a small team, presumably watches enough crap football each week anyway without the added detriment of watching the old firms u20 teams who have nothing to bloody play for!
