This is an over reaction. I've just had a  look at the Facebook comments and given Mr Moodie appears to be a relatively clever man, I'm very surprised to see him acknowledge any Facebook comments immediately after stepping down. It just fuels the speculation and is not a very professional approach.

Facebook as a source of information isn't. probably a good source of info, in fact how many time have you seen folk air their dirty linen in public on it just because they can,, also if you read into any sort of comment words can be construed in any sort of way which can be interpreted different by anyone, End of the day he has his reasons its his choice and only he knows his reasons. Dare say someone probably trying to fish for info onto why he left just so they can say I heard.

If there is a problem its the board to sort out anyway so I don't see what spreading gossip or rumours are going to do to help anyone or the club

I certainly have no axe to grind and have only been positive in my backing of the new board. However, take a look on Facebook and the post mentioning the resignation on the Falkirk football club page. The following post ' Worrying turn of events. All is still not well behind the scenes it would appear.' has been liked by the guy whose just resigned. Now I'm no Sherlock Holmes but that doesn't bode well in mind.

How the f*ck does this constitute a worrying turn of events, has anyone at your work handed in their notice lately is the company about to go under is there a problem in the workplace, if you get what I am trying to say here am not saying there is anything wrong but how does one person resigning constitute a problem. ?

"We can announce that Doug Moodie has stepped down as Falkirk Supporters’ Society representative on the board of Falkirk FC.

We would like to thank Doug for all his efforts during his time on the board.

We will now consult with FSS about recruiting a replacement for Doug, and an announcement regarding this will be made in due course."

Not on Facebook and even when I was I mean come on your talking about comments from people that thought tickets for Keane at the TFS and the coffee baron not to mention calling the guy "Boss" as your source of information as something being up. So basically hear say, gossip and speculation but no actual something is up.

You haven't got a green van and a Great Dane have you as all this p*sh is going a bit like a Scooby Doo episode

I’ve no reason to believe there’s anything untoward in this resignation as I know no one associated with the board, but I definitely object to mates of those on the board calling anyone who dares to ask question old board apologists.
One could also suggest that your comments are a deliberate attempt to play down the matter due to personal interest.
Are we honestly no longer allowed to hold the new board to the same levels of accountability as previous regimes, or should we just restrict ourselves to question / criticise the manager and players from now on?…

I haven't got any personal interest and I don't know anyone on the new board but ffs if someone can point out anywhere in this statement where it suggests anything untoward has happened enlighten me ? because unless your Nostradamus or Mystic Meg or a personal friend of Doug, all there is is speculation and rumour.  You can also look at the posts suggesting that something has happened behind the scenes can be someone with an axe to grind , I honest to f**k wish that One F was still here as that sort of sh*t negativity, gossip, rumour sh*t stirring was rife on there, they've just swapped platform and drag it onto here. There are some I think would be happy for what's being put in place or what's changing to fail just so they can say GIRFUY, Even folk questioning McGlynn after 1 game ffs.

"We can announce that Doug Moodie has stepped down as Falkirk Supporters’ Society representative on the board of Falkirk FC.

Coming on here now is like the merchants of doom for all things FFC, the seats aren't blue enough, the new striker is shit before anyone has seen the lad in action, even questioning McGlynn after 1 game the mans been straddled with last years failures and having to make do until the imposters contracts run out but even at that its still an upgrade on the past 2 years.

  4. I think its been a case of folk have been nieve into how much damage has been done by the past and how much work needs to be done to repair that damage.  Dare say if you are working a full time job with that in the background then its understandable that someone stepped down.

Again not ITK or that but but come on tae f*ck those that think here is some sort of agenda or something going on in the background (say apologists for the last regime) give it a rest, I dare say the guy that stepped down and close friends will only be the ones that know the reasons for stepping down and like I say is probably a case hasn't got the time to commit..

    Really!!!

Both teams are in League 1 for a reason. Just because you are full time doesn't give you a right to thump every part time team you come up against. We are where we are on merit as last 4 seasons have proved not by luck

Read it again you and you might twig to what he means, it sounds in no means arrogant, basically we have managed to stop the rot where last season you would have pumped us and given the woeful refereeing as well.

Not really concerned about yourselves as as you pointed out we are where we are on merit but given the decisions made by our previous BoD managerial and otherwise and poor judgement,  not to mention the appointment of a sporting director that was completely clueless  who signed his own son that got returned back to us by lower league opposition. We now appear to be steadying the ship and moving in the right direction.

if Charlie Telfer is the answer I don’t want to know what question is being asked.

He was posted missing more than he turned up, good player but as with the rest of last years squad didn't bother his arse, which is why we are in this league in the first place.

I actually think we need to go 3 at the back as we have the players that would suit it. This would get McCann, who has been one of our best players so far, on to the pitch and would put Mackie at LCB where he's better. It would also mean that Williamson would'nt need to defend just quite as much which would be a bonus.

I felt that Ross did ok when he came on yesterday and I would give him a try at RWB in that system 'cause he really can't be any worse in there.

I'd try to get Telfer back as well as I think he would have made a big difference yesterday playing in an advanced midfield role, that's if McGlynn does'nt have anyone better lined up. I'd hate to see him play against us as well because I'm sure the inevitable would happen in that scenario!

Think McGlynn mentioned in one of his interviews 2 more players (loan) to come in and looking at closer to the window closing than sooner.

He apparently drinks energy drinks all the time, the physios tried to get him to stop but Rennie lacked authority to make him and shrugged his shoulders. Bulking up is not a great idea for a winger who (used to) live off his pace. I hope McGlynn gets him to return to form, he used to be the only player we had who could take the ball and get us up field.

It might help him deal with more physical players he comes up against but like you say his pace was his biggest asset which if you can run faster than the guy your up against he wouldn't need to rely on having a bit more bulk/muscle

  9. A sense of perspective if that was last season we would have been horsed by about 3 goals at least. the ref was woeful and was lacked consistency, whilst Montrose were a bit more physical in the game and no sure the mo player that kept on going down whenever a Falkirk player went anywhere near him but he got a decision most of the time.  We lack a finisher that is clear. felt Morrison was marked most of the time which didn't allow him to do what he can do.  Its bad decisions on the part of mainly Morrison and Nesbitt messing things up, though there were times when there was no one up front to help players pushing forward when we did.

Williamson not sure what his issue is but definitely a weak link tries to get forward, struggles to beat a man, loses possession but all I will say is he's no Kieran Duffie.

its first game of the season we didn't get beat which is the main thing, McGlynn has a battle on his hands but he knew that when he took the job anyone criticising the man needs their head looked at mind you after the last 3 seasons I think folk have just got used to criticising all things Falkirk hence the moan a few pages back about the seats being the wrong shade of blue.

For once we have the right man as Manager so can take that one out the equation as an issue, defence is a massive improvement and can't even criticise Brad McKay who seems to have become competent.  Basically main thoughts on yesterday lack of cutting edge up front and woeful refereeing as being the main factors if we didn't have that cutting edge though and scored first I think the refereeing issue would have been out the equation though.

The only sponsor we have had on the strips that I've tried is budvar, occasionally back in the day when it was everywhere. They could have anything on them and I'd not pay that much attention, same goes for boards around pitch.

If you are going to drink, knock down buildings, go to the maniqui or bet....I very much doubt that its because it's on a Falkirk strip that you will for that reason.

The past 3 seasons have been that bad if Bubbles was still going they could have made it a point to use that as front of shirt sponsor if the rumours were right about that place .... 🤣

I know we are struggling financially but disappointed to see us have a gambling company on the jerseys.

They did also make a statement in the release with:

"Regency’s mission is to ensure that all customers are in control of their gambling.

All of their staff have passed the latest Betting and Gaming Council training courses and have been trained to spot the danger signs of people who may have problems with gambling. To ensure that everyone is gambling safely they have a range of tools and balances to help support those who need it.

As part of the season-long agreement Regency Betting Group, Falkirk Football Club and the Falkirk Foundation will work closely together to improve our community, promoting education and awareness around responsible gambling by creating workshops throughout the season on the importance of responsible gambling."

Is it acceptable for me to have a moan about crane companies as they are a nightmare on the M9 Eastbound at 7 in the morning and we have a crane company as a sponsor, seeing as we are having a moan about the shade of blue of the seats, a betting company on back of shirt, fixture lists not published, fixture lists published but not right, the old website, the new website and pretty much anything that has ever been close proximity of the TFS and in the TFS

i see from the other nite that the stadium is very light on advertising, We had a board on the far side which was ripped down before the first preseason friendly, no idea where it is, but with absolutely no contact from the club as to whether or not we wished to retain it...... which we would have paid for but not now with the cost of another board being made by the sign company and f**k all communication from the club, we wont bother. its not that difficult to keep local business on board.

Honest to f**k give the guys a chance in the new board, pretty sure its posted on here that while the advertising is bare this was due to the fact a lot of those who paid for advertising hadn't been chased to pay up for continuing to advertise, they had a few years of free advertising at the stadium.  If they had kept the board up would you moan that the advertising board is just too plain without any adverts on it and then suggest it should be taken down.

On the seats issue maybe someone could walk around the stadium with a Navy Blue colour chart and match it against the seat once it starts to change from the colour on the chart they start a process of getting a new one, Catch a grip in the grand scheme of things whilst it might not look great I'm pretty sure they have more important sh*t to deal with than the above 2 issues, They have got 10 yrs of f**k ups to sort out.

Pretty happy the way things are heading we could be taken over by an oil rich Middle Eastern country and folk would still find something to moan about.

He failed with a simple header and also had a shot blocked. Otherwise didn’t get a sniff.
Was hardly helped by being surrounded by youngsters to be fair…

He was the first sub, we were doing fine until he came on, fair enough McGlynn needs to look at him but for someone trying to show what he can do it wasn't good enough but in any of the last 3 years would probably ended up with a 2 year deal.

  14. Is the sponsor really up there with things we give a sh*te about we used to be sponsored by Coasters when it was a roller skating rink, as long as its a good deal and lets look at it there's more to see on their website and more legit than there was with Clark Epos which is right up there with Mark Campbell  on what information to find on them.

Don’t know why an attempt to compare 2 players, and using a player like Holt who was just a solid player himself, as a bad comparison.

Let’s go with a better comparison. Hopefully this can give some better insight instead of just being accused of trolling. Maybe it’s my age and I missed the best of McAllister. So what about comparing him to Chris Burke? Was he a better player than Burke would you say? They must be looked at as similar types of players due to things like position, skill level, crossing etc?

………but there will be no miraculous “Brad double” with our McKay.

Wrong time of year for miracles being performed and i don't think JC himself let alone JM could perform that one turning Brad McKay into a decent defender let alone defender

  17. If Holts managed to find another gig he might be able to find his son a new gig, not to be cynical but however competent a keeper he is or not i wouldnt trust him to be in goals given how the way things panned out with his dad (i.e. bit of a bawbag and shouldnt have been near us "AGAIN" let alone DoF)

Are you referring to the running track and two pitches (used to be 5, but it’s only two) opposite Carmuirs golf course?
I have no memory of a scrapyard there, but as a kid in the 60s, that was the landfill site. That’s why there are methane vents all over the place, and all sorts of undulations on the surface. It could never be built on.

Thats the very one landfill site was before my time i think i can vaguely remember something where the car park is across from the golf course.  think at the time the FH reported it as a former scrapyard.

  19. 2 hours ago, Ranaldo Bairn said:

    That wouldn't help much!

There was also the plan of relocating to Stirling Road and building 2000 houses which funnily enough the Labour group were fully behind but it got knocked back due to there used to being a scrapyard there and methane on the site.

If I remember correct there was a possibility of 8000 if we rotated the pitch 90o. Unfortunately 10000 was never a possibility and I suspect the authorities would have increased it to 12000 to stop us. Sorry that’s just one of the chips on my shoulder talking.

If I mind right there was a few ideas floating about one being turning the stadium 180 and building that way, another idea touted was of making it 2 tier

A few odd bits in there for me:

    1. The begging bowl and rhetoric about how potless we are doesn’t seem commensurate with where money is being spent.

Why if funds are so limited was circa £2k a week spent on a player who was not fit, was never going to be fit and in any event was not going to get the service required to get us into the playoffs?

Why do we all of a sudden need to spend money on grass training facilities when our current ones were perfectly adequate to get us to 2nd in the championship? We’re still in league 1 because of poor recruitment, not training facilities that other teams in our league could only dream of.

    2. Why on earth has Martin Rennie had any role at all in designing a ‘football strategy’? I wouldn’t have him designing a bath running strategy, never mind a football one.

    3. Why are key appointments seemingly being handed out to mates of patrons?

Rennie has been involved with clubs that were just starting out in the US and Canada and setting up, I don't get the flack he takes yes he done sh*t but I don't put that down to him I put that down to the shambles that Holt and Sheerin assembled he was on a hiding to nothing and the 6 brought in Jan were basically papering cracks and trying to pour a bit of glitter on a turd.

As for the Griffiths one it was a gamble but you would think given his career it "could" being the operative word here have paid off in the same way that Stainrod and Waddle, McAvennie signings could have bit of morale and a statement signing to try and push up crowd numbers.

Not defending just offering another perspective on it.
