  1. Agree with most of this, except I think Want *Should have* been playing alongside an experienced CB for the past 2 seasons and we could've had a more complete player right now, instead of investing in someone that's played American COLLEGE SOCCCCCERBALL in Fjortoft. Waste of resources. As others have stated, the clubs philosophy of chucking enough shit at the wall and hoping it sticks very rarely comes to fruition. A few experienced journeymen surrounding some of the young raw talent we have such as Lewis, would work wonders for the club. When Rice was brought in and claimed he would change the way the club played, we have sadly only seen flickers of this, I've never seen a club be such Jekyle and Hyde over 2 halves as often as Accies. Really frustrating, as I think we are only 3-4 signings off being able to climb up a couple of places.
  2. Very disappointed with the comments from Neil Lennon, despite the fact that male suicide is on the rise, gambling addiction and mental problems stemming from this are ALSO on the rise, he seems to think it's acceptable to have gambling advertisements everywhere within Scottish Football because "for some people it's an addiction, but betting companies put alot into the game for the right reason" talk about embarrassing yourself, the right reason being THEY MAKE BILLIONS PER YEAR?! Not to help the game of football grow, they will spit out "Gamble responsibly" dont "impulse bet" then 30 seconds later you'll be treated to an ad with a live in play odd?! Gambling addiction destroys lives, the fact Lennon has been so flippant about it has really grated me, I tend to not give opinions on other teams on this, he has however outed himself as MASSIVELY short sighted and an embarrassment.
  3. Youre right, however, he's played 90 minutes against a fourth tier english side, and only 25 minutes against championship sides. I repeat, at the age of 21, he's played a grand total of 115 minutes.
  4. 100% agree. Edinburgh City would struggle against our reserve squad. Jury is out on dales still. I am so pleased that Winter got his debut and a goal to go with it, the guys been banging in goals for fun, so it's great to see the leap to senior level. Let's try and keep this one on longer than a one year contract ehhh accies!
  5. This is a very dark transfer window. I am used to the waiting process of getting whatever dregs are left, however, the potential non-re-signing of key players due to leave in the summer for hee-haw, combined with losing two REALLY important players, plus signing an absolute duffer. Doom N Gloom for me the now.
  6. Martin, Miller, Mcgowan, Gogic. That's a helluva spine to lose. I am 100% sure Miller will be gone, he was meant to be heading back to England in the Summer, so this one he will definitely be gone sadly. Stanger of course is a future prospect, Davies whilst never fully fit seemingly can still contribute. Easton, meh. He's certainly good for a rotational CB, I don't think however he can do a full season uninjured.
  7. 15 accies players *at least* are out of contract in the summer, included in this is Mikel *Who will almost certainly leave for nothing*, Mcgowan, Gogic, Stanger, Davies, Martin. I've listed these as I think these guys 100% need to be sought to be resigned. The likes of Mackinnon, Mimmnaugh *Who apparently has had a poor attitude rewarded by being in the reserves* Ogkmpoe, Moyo, Fjortoft, Easton *Forever injured*, Oakley, Hughes etc are also out of contract, however I don't think they're now of a quality to play weekly football at this level. Thoughts!?
  8. That can't be, you said he's "Definitely coming back" Dales signing has completely changed my mind on Rice. He said he was impressed with him at Dundee, where he was described as having some of the worst passing witnessed. Couple this with the fact hes 25 and not played even 40 professional games yet AND in his interview with the Accies ginger reporter, he admits that he's been injured TWICE in a year. I am of course open to the possibility that this guy is the second coming, or even a decent back up winger, however, all the signs point to this being a really bad signing.
  9. 2016/17 I thought Darian was perhaps our most consistent performer. By 2018/2019 though he had become a liability, it literally looked like his once reliable engine had left him. He's not kicked a ball since November, so I don't know if he's maybe been carrying an injury or just not good enough for the bench. Morton would maybe benefit more from young Mimmnaugh, he's VERY out of favour just now and would definitely benefit from some more competitive games.
  10. Well yes, I understand we are hoping to keep him, HOWEVER you said he will definitely be back, wondering if you maybe had a WEE bit of inside info, apparently not. Berra looked pretty rotten every time I have seen him in recent times, slow and often out of position, miles off the pace of Stubbs IMO. Let's hope from the 6-8 we will probably trial/bring in that we find a couple diamonds in the rough, i'd settle for CZ's though at this rate.
  11. Genuine question, why are you so certain of this?Source?? It's rare to have extended loans, especially if Reading want to either use him/move him on permanently in the January window. OFW is such a mystery, I'd seen him play only a few times for ICT and thought he looked rather decent, however he's been pretty sub standard for Accies, I mean not as much of a bomb-scare as Ryan Fulton or Darren Jamieson, but still a bit of a shambles at times.
  12. destined to be the lowest attended cup tie of the weekend. As others have said, that game against Livingston was maybe the worst football i've seen in a decade. Absolutely honking, nobody seemed to take charge of the game. The 'not expecting signings' thing is of course worrying, I believe we are only 2-3 decent signings off picking up more wins. Goalkeeping *poor parrys* and defensive howlers have really cost us in recent games, however the one good thing I have noticed is that we are not losing 90% of goals to crosses/set pieces anymore. Mimmnaugh for me is simply nowhere near ready, fine with seeing him potentially go, in my opinion Lewis Smith is ten times the player and will only get better. If Rice will continue his two striker approach, I wish he'd let Mikel play as a forward instead of having him work as a winger/getting lost in midfield, something he isn't exactly great at is tracking back, his strength lies in running at defenders.
  13. Outwith one worldy goal he has been really poor IMO. How can you not be impressed first time round? He scored double digits and deserved a shot in the premiership with us first time round, with more starts. He definitely lacks fitness and outwith a cracking shot with a dead ball he detracts from the forward attacks mostly. Maybe if he could get back to full fitness this would change, however would he have faired any better today? I don't think so, we sorely missed the holding ability of Davies *Again* McMillan for me is pretty rotten so far, signing players with lack of game time is going to be hit and miss. At least Mucha had one good game and a couple saves The only positive I can go with from today are that Rice didn't wait till the dying embers of the game to make the changes needed, he made the changes with enough time gone to have not embarrass the players being removed or embarrass himself for the team setup. I actually thought he would have went with a 5 in midfield today and a return for Dougie *who has been rather poor this season* Mimnaugh again showed very little, I do keep in mind that he is still essentially a kid, however throwing him to the lions like this will do nothing for his confidence OR for the team.
  14. Mackinnon is probably being kept on for another year to help him transition into coaching I'll presume. Ziggy, Killa, Miller, Woods *As flakey as he can be is still better option than Fulton* are absolute priorities for contracts. I've heard that Miller apparently has a lot of interest in England and would be keen to return : (
  15. Absolutely brilliant. It's cliched as hell, but the change in mood from stands to pitch is legitimate. Fans actually believe we can win games under this regime. Oakley and Davies is a helluva team for defenders. Sowah having the game of his life and really putting a shout in to start over McMann at LB. I've said it before, Dougie was my favourite Accies player for years, however he was so far off the pace tonight it could have cost us those points. Miller proved his importance. The managers post match comments just cement my love for him, he wants the people of Hamilton to be proud of their local team. Playing football like tonight more regularly MIGHT just be the thing to attract the next generation of fans to NDP.
  16. I'd brought this up on an earlier post when it came to significant contracts... Tierney is gone. Also Killa and Mcgowan have contracts expiring in summer. Potentially we shall be losing Ziggy, Woods, Mcgowan, Mikel, Killa, Daz and Want. Some ultra experienced players and some potential future greats...all walking out the door. I suppose a lot of these contracts will come down to what division we are in next season, I don't expect Killa wants to go to Alloa on a friday night in winter.
  17. It's an absolute must win tomorrow, ABSOLUTE. It'll give a 5 point buffer from St Mirren. Worryingly, our next 4 games after are St J, Hibs, Rangers, Aberdeen.
  18. Woods Mcgowan Killa Want Gordon Martin Mackinnon Miller Andreu McMann Davies Spoilt for choice with strikers now, so could actually go to a 4-4-2 variation.
  19. I'll tell you my reasoning, Ziggy & Killa are most likely to leave in the Summer, as will Sowah. Shaun Want has had some really good and really bad performances, him playing alongside someone with the experience of Killa for even the remainder of the season would do him the absolute world of good and leave us hopefully with a young CB with more experience. I'm thinking long term here. I think Ziggy' pace at LB would really help us in finally getting some crosses in that matter.
  20. I'd have definitely liked a strengthening of the defence, however that was because we've played wing backs for so long. If we go back to a flat 4 we have much more options. A back 4 combo of Mcgowan - Killa - Want - Gordon would be my pick. I'd rather see Mcmann do some damage on the wing, but he has however played as LB previously. That leaves us with Alex Penny *please never again* , Shaun Want *who i think should be getting game time in CD* . & Lenny Sowah. A couple of big rumours were Killa and Miller were going to be leaving if things stayed as they did, hopefully a strong 10th place finish or even chase for 9th and build on that for next season.
  21. Just like to say thanks to all the Dundee fans on Twitter tonight, had a great read on the pan watching the meltdown from your final transfer.
  22. Well we are now spoilt for choice with strong strikers who can hold the ball up! If someone told me we would be trading Rakish for these two, I'd have gladly accepted. Wish we'd invested in an attacking mid and a centre back. I'm hoping this is the turn we needed, a strong finish to the season and convince the likes of Miller and Killa to sign longer contracts.
  23. Judging by the complete and utter meltdown from ICT Twitter, Oakley must have been some player or at least look like he's going to become a great player. Oakley interview on AcciesTV he's quoted as saying Rice is really passionate about football and his man management skills are really motivational. Something we ABSOLUTELY NEEDED. This interview and the words from Rice today have left a positive impression on me.
  24. Hiring your current club captain to be player/coach with no managerial background, that's pretty strange IMO. Taking Accies from mid table meh to one of the best half seasons in the clubs history once promoted, that'll do me.
