  1. THIS. I understand the importance of having someone on board as a co-presenter(s) who've been there and done it, however the likes of Boyd, Commons, Thomson etc are just so devoid of any sort of charisma that they make Scottish Football coverage almost unbearable.
  2. He's not horrendous, I think from all that I've seen league one is more suited to his ability. He was on loan to Clyde, so that could be the destination.
  3. Lack of physicality certainly does come into play in the scottish prem, however as a lot of players are able to prove, technique can beat strength a lot of the time. The likes of Mimmnaugh etc I just don't see anything that would have them in a accies lineup I'd like. Smith on the other hand has shown definite glimpses of brilliance, he does however lack physicality. I'm keen to see more of this Tunde fella, if he shows some of the promise that Mikel had, then we could have some exciting attacks again.
  4. The PR of "oh another one for the future". In reality, he never really looked the part, from the current batch of home-grown youngsters, to me only Lewis Smith looks like he has true potential to make a massive difference to the team in the next few years. The other one I really liked was Leon Mccann, who they stupidly punted.
  5. I wasn't expecting much, considering the massive gap in finances available to both teams, it seemed to me however Rice was determined to put out a REALLY inexperienced team so he would have the "learning experience" excuse. Some really unimpressive performances from Callachan and Trafford. Mcmann as captain picking up a silly yellow with ten minutes gone shows he's maybe not possessing the football intelligence yet to lead this team. Why we didn't play a 5-4-1- or 4-5-1 befuddled me. Winter on the left was absolutely pointless, with Mimmnaugh also running around like a headless chicken. Both Oggy and Moyo seem to not be able to create chances from nothing either, why Tunde isn't given the chance yesterday I don't know. Rangers high line provides good attackng football, they also swarm when they lose possession, which Accies weren't able to cope with.
  6. Can I ask where these rumours of Ziggy and Devlin came from? Devlin definitely will definitely stay at Aberdeen, I can't see Ziggy coming back for ANOTHER spell. I think against Motherwell we got rather lucky, we had spells of pressure that showed Motherwell are rather shaky at the back, however we definitely need an experienced FIT centre back to help add some much needed experience.
  7. I've never truly understood how anyone *outwith those we sneak wins from* would want to see a club like Hamilton gone from the top division. Don't we all love a true underdog story? Sure, Accies have a small fanbase, maybe that's down to the majority of the local area supporting the OF, whilst also lacking true success on the pitch, but thankfully fans don't win points. Hamilton fielding squads with an average age of 22-23(on average they're in the top 2 every year for minutes played by academy players), working within their budgets and promoting from within. I know some moan about synthetic pitches, however the new hybrid surface looks great and can host some great fast football on it. P.s to the original poster, thanks for the change of luck.
  8. I've no idea if all the players are suddenly gonna fail drugs tests or what, but those results are outstanding. I have harped on about Shaun Want getting more opportunities and he's proven he's more than capable. If he had only been put beside an experienced CB such as Killa for thepast couple of seasons, think of how quicker to reaching his potential he could've been by now! 8 games to go and 6 points off 8th position, what a difference a bit of luck going your way can make.
  9. I would not bet your house on that, we have beaten Ross Country away TWICE in 11 years.
  10. This has all the necessary ingredients for an absolute disaster for one team. Accies for some reason are capable of playing magic for 30-40 minutes then becoming the proverbial bomb scare for the other half. I genuinely envision a 3 or 4 nil pummelling for one side. With Motherwell being on a shit run, it looks only likely that Accies will be the confidence booster sadly.
  11. Do we have to? He's pretty rotten. Livingston have signed EFE AMBROSE on a free for 18 months. Genuine question, ultra experienced defender who has played at the top level, why didn't Accies try and secure the services of someone like this, instead of loaning in GUFF?
  12. I'm still REALLY fucked off that I was 2 weeks in renewing my season ticket and they gave my TWO PAID Seats to the BLAMELESS CHARITY for FREE. Refused to give me my seats back and replace those free tickets elsewhere. The lack of support to actual fans has led to me attending maybe 12 games all season on a Patg basis.
  13. Marcus seems a nice chap, but he was brought in as to improve social media reach within the club, but instead has become more of a journalistic type, with lots of selfies included. We were told we'd be getting more in depth interviews, more full match highlights, commentary etc etc, instead we are treated to awkward interviews with very poor sound at times in changing rooms. With regards to the free tickets, they'd be hopefully coming with their entire team for a good time, I've seen teams from time to time come along and they do tend to get quite animated. It might not be what they're used to or expecting to see, however, I don't see any other way of attracting young support. According to articles I read last year, we actually had a higher average wage than St Mirren, Livi and Motherwell.
  14. I see the stats, they actually averaged over 800 more fans average per game, however once you take into the equation that Livingston host 3500 more fans than Accies 2 stands and gazeebo, you can start to see why. 11 Livingston[a] 69,616 9,246 1,022 3,664 +171.8% 12 Hamilton Academical 53,760 5,827 1,135 2,829 −8.6% This is last years...the year previous was 3095 average. When you consider Accies now give 70% of seats to Rangers/Celtic, this is quite telling. I do also wonder, how many season tickets are actually purchased, as my previous season ticket seat was "purchased" by one of the charities, I asked if I could still have it and they be assigned another seat as I'd be paying and theirs was free, I was told no. This led to this season being the first season, I'm not buying a season ticket and pretty much sums up for me, how the club feels about loyal paying fans vs charity work.
  15. The emptying stadium is becoming quite the talking point amongst scottish fans. Our season ticket price being on par with HEARTS for example, is pretty ludicrous. The club simply REFUSING to try strategies like "Student Tickets" considering Hamilton actually has a university on it's doorstep and a massive college 4 miles from the stadium as well. Almost every club has student ticket pricing, except Hamilton. Actually, in 2019 we still didn't have a card machine in the ticket office to buy tickets, kits etc :| So I won't hold my breath for any kind of relevant changes. If I was part of the sales team at HAFC, I would be implementing at least 2-300 free tickets PER Week to fill the stands, targeting the local football and sports teams, not only does this show support for the local community (Not just addiction etc) it will also help generate income, as the people coming along with the free tickets will be purchasing food/drinks etc. The best thing to happen to Hamilton in recent times was finally getting the social media aspect of the club addressed *this was brought up at a fan forum years ago, including the desire for a proper club shop online* , however, even that has suddenly hit the brakes, theonline club shop has permanently out of stock adult shirts and the keen start from Marcus has become rather placid, standard post/pre match interviewing, not the behind the scenes we were beginning to see, or the "full match highlights" that was also discussed. The club is in serious trouble, dwindling numbers, terrible output on the pitch for large sections of the season and some supporters even WANTING To go to the championship, If we go down, I don't see us coming back up for a long long time. The question I've been asking myself is, why can Livingston do it with a lower budget and lower fan support, but Hamilton continually battling relegation.
  16. A prospect at what exactly? As he certainly lacks the key ingredients of a centre back. I don't solely blame him though, unlike Lewis Smith, he's not ready for the first team.
  17. Its ridiculous that a professional athlete is that weight. I mean, Akinfenwa managed quite the career despite being super-heavyweight, however it boggles my mind that APPARENTLY we had money offers for Davies and turned them down? I mean, he's very often injured and struggles to do a full 45 minutes, despite being with us over a year. With the starting lineup, we obviously didn't take the cup too seriously *which is something I dont mind, HOWEVER PRICES SHOULD REFLECT* Why he persists with Hamilton over Want i've NO IDEA. I thought Want was very competent against St Mirren, whereas Hamilton has zero physicality unless it involves a foul.
  18. Regarding Goalkeeping positioning, see SECOND conceded free kick in under 7 days with exact same goalkeeping position, giving himself ZERO chance. you HAVE to more central at such close quarters.
  19. Unlucky. Pace, with poor finishing and doesn't have a high level of football intelligence IMO. Not much over 20 professional goals in about 150 _+ games.
  20. No team really deserved the victory IMO. In the first half Accies had the better chances, with Oggy rattling the bar and the scramble from the cross being cleared off the line. Any kind of incidents regarding elbows etc I didn't get a very good view of from behind the goals. From the St Mirren side I thought the number 11 was potm, he dropped into spaces and was continually looking to either work the ball into space or move into some good attacking positions. Looks a very good player. Number 5 also looked solid. The St Mirren goal looked a peach, however, the goalkeeper AGAIN positioned himself at the opposite end of the goal, with SUCH SHORT RANGE you have to be more central! He gives himself no chance, why didn't he learn this from the Edouard goal?! I was really glad to see that Tony Andreu is still absolutely a shell of his former self, glad he didn't come back to Accies with performances like that.
  21. Insanely, despite being maybe our best promising attacker., he will probably walk in the summer for free. I was told apparently a move to England fell through last summer, but he's keen to return there this summer. If the club was smart they'd extend his contract with the agreement to sell if a decent offer comes in. Smith/Templeton/Miller is a really great combo sitting behind the Davies or Oggy. The issue for me lies in the back lines. Whilst he's maybe better than OFW, just looking at his positioning and lack of size for the first celtic goal *the free kick* makes me wonder even more about this guy. Jamie Hamilton is very naive, which is what happens when you play 17 year old's against the best side in the country, crafty *scumbags, which is now what Griffiths is IMO after the stamping incident* like Griffiths play for those kinda fouls all day long, if you let them. I like Shaun Want, he SHOULD have been playing alongside the likes of Killa previously, providing a long term centre back by giving him the correct mentorship and game time, instead we find ourselves with a makeshift back line outwith our full backs. I am hoping for someone with no contract to perhaps come in, ready to go, not needing 3 months of training to get upto speed. That's my wish for February, as I believe those with no contract can still be signed?
  22. Later I'm gonna write a really boring post about how Templeton will fit in, but I don't think he'll be suited on the wing. Having him and Miller in the same team would be the most frustrating masterpiece ever witnessed though. I'll be honest, for the first time in a LONG TIME, we have the potential to successfully use a 4-3-2-1. Davies up top with Miller either side. I don't see why that can't work, especially considering this formation does not require players to always be out wide. A great target man like Davies combined with Miller and Templeton running onto balls is a great working plan. Despite this signing, we are still..REALLY in need of another CB and potential FB considering our injury woes. Maybe Skondras fancies another hug from Templeton
  23. A combo of miller/templeton on either side of a striker is just.....Jizz-lobbingly-amazing. I said it last year, Miller NEEDS to be given a two year deal and regular play, in a regular position.
  24. Past it midfielder, injury prone and has TWICE shown his disloyalty to the club now? NO-FUCKING-TA.
