How's yer plans going for promotion out the championship next season going dafties?

Yeah got to agree Daire was poor when he came on against Arbroath and JML was excellent, for me one of them always has to start especially just now in the absence of an attacking midfielder, I thought Daire linked up really well on Friday with Dempsey, McKenzie and Dipo, JML is different as he runs at and terrifies defender's when on form.

Delighted if both proved me wrong because they're great lads, that also goes for McAllister not totally convinced but getting there with great performances and terrific attitude

I've been a big critic of McKenzie and I'm still to be convinced, but in fairness to the big lad he has been continually played out of position wide right which has done him no favours, he's a good honest lad who is at his best in a forward 2,hopefully Bully will have learned that from Friday night, I actually think the same applies to Sam Ashford.

Credit given hope we nurture him for a bit longer, but these big clubs look upon it as a small gamble to be paid, let's keep him for longer though coz I've only heard great reports about him, seems to have all the attributes and thankfully the club are more geared up for developing and keeping their own talent, but I wouldn't be surprised.

On a different note just looking at the match reports from the u18s it wouldn't surprise me if one of the big academies from down south came in for Max Guthrie, I know it's happened to youngsters from Kilmarnock, Celtic, Rangers, Dundee Utd ect, but this kid is apparently on fire. Hope he stays and progresses but these clubs are willing to throw good money at kids up here, might tempt the board........thoughts?

We're improving massively off the park and I think we'll get better on it, but we're not at the level we were at latterly under McCall yet and to snipe at him is petty, he was by a distance our best manager in the last 30years and to say otherwise is utter nonsense.

Remember under Bullen we got beat from Annan and horsed 3-0 at home from QOS, remember half time up at Larbet!!!

Totally and utterly agree, I thought he was a right good lad, obviously some off days as kids have but real quality, apparently did really well at dundalk

Incredibly naive of Mathie to say they only want player's who want to play for Ayr United, I get the sentiment, but they're professional football players it's largely about cash always has been, sometimes and I think we're at the point now you do have to push the boat out a bit, I'm not advocating 2K a week or anything stupid or unsustainable, but we should be looking at a couple on a few hundred more our next 2/3 players need to be game changers or we're in a real mess quality players will lift you up a number of places, earning their salary and bringing in better crowds, McKenzie and McAllister out on loan would surely allow movement, but I agree with other posts think for some unknown reason both are rated, probably decent lads who train hard!!!

I don't think Dipo is the issue....yet, he's in amongst it hitting the post, being saved ect, there is however no obvious goals from elsewhere, even the signing of Crawford wouldn't help that as his goals record is miserable and surprisingly so is his assists. Still a captain type central mid, striker and attacking mid required

Maxwell's 5 goals and 2 assists now looks rather good for a raw young lad, although he certainly took pelters on here. Currently this team has nowhere near the goals or formation to stay up, early days ofcourse, but warning signs are there and must be addressed and soon.
