Gary Holt did more damage than Hartley.

Absolutely. Watched the game back last night and was good to see Lee Miller. Started thinking about his and McCracken’s time in charge and you forget how much Holt actually ruined them. Forced them to change to his favoured formation and his spell as interim manager was dreadful. Then you add on all the dreadful signings he made, the poor appointment of Rennie and then his comments at the Q&A and you realise just how dreadful he was for the club.

Im not saying Miller and McCracken would have succeeded if Holt wasn’t there as the cracks had started to show before Holt was appointed but there is no denying things got considerably worse after his appointment.

6 goals and 3 assists for Alfie in very limited league game time compared to 1 league goal for Ross - if there’s only space for one of them next year I’d be keeping Alfie given he’s our player under contract

I would say Agyeman has contributed much more in terms of goals and assists than Ross. 8 goals and 4 assists compared to 2 goals and 5 assists.

Ross for me doesn’t contribute much in too many games whereas Agyeman is more of a handful for defenders (even if unpredictable).

These type of comments annoy me with modern day football. So many fans look at scoring and assist stats to decide who is a better player or if someone is good enough to sign without taking any other info into account. For me Ross brings so much more to the team than Alfie and gets involved in a lot of the build up play. I suspect the reason we have seen less of Alfie is because he can’t be trusted to make the correct decision when it counts and this has led to his lack of game time.

I like Alfie and I think he could be a valuable asset with his pace, strength and skill, however, I also believe Ross fits into our style of play better than Alfie and even if he has less goals and assists, he offers more to our general play than Alfie does

Your long term anger should be for those who 1. employed him 2. The Brentford model and closing the Academy and allowing it to you checked.
That ultimately led to all this and that is where the real damage was done. Hartley signed the rubbish I don’t disagree but we had plenty of opportunity to fix that season and bottled it at home to Morton and Alloa and away to QOS.

This is spot on. I’ve often wondered why so many fans lay the blame at Harley’s door for our demise. Yes he made a complete mess whilst he was manager but a lot of what happened were decisions made by the people who are meant to have the clubs best interest at heart. I’m not saying the abuse is unwarranted, however, it’s like blaming someone in middle management for the collapse of a company.

Referee took pity on him when it was a definite red card.  Fyvie is done & his kick out is not a sign of frustration but one of a poor professional picking up his final pay day under false pretences.

Steady on. Even in a poor Cove team you can see Fyvie is a very good player. If it wasn’t for injuries he’d still be playing at a higher level

  5. The more I think about this season the more I’m delighted for so many people that it’s worked out this way.

Coll Donaldson - Felt he was made into a bit of a scapegoat last season but this year he has been colossal. Lang has taken a lot of the headlines but Coll has shown recently just how good he is.

Leon McCann - A player that quite a few fans felt wasn’t good enough but he is easily the most consistent player I’ve watched at the Falkirk stadium. He deserves this after what he went through under Sheerin and Rennie.

Nisbett - Another player who had to play through the Sheerin and Rennie reign and he has been brilliant this season. He's certainly earned that contract extension he got last season.

Morrison - The one who’s been through the most shit with the club and he’s still here showing just how good he is. Probably been our only shining light in some dark times so he fully deserves every bit of praise he’s got this season.

MacIver - Took some abuse on social media when we signed him but he’s been instrumental to our play this season. Such a clever footballer and the players around him reap the rewards of him being there.

McGlynn - A lot of fans wanted him gone after the disaster that was the end of last season, however, the BOD stuck by him and what an incredibly good decision that has been. One that you could argue has saved our club.

This is really saying something but apart from Mcglynn M&M probably had the best recruitment out of the managers we have had since being relegated. I’m not saying they didn’t sign some absolute donkeys but they probably don’t get enough credit from bringing Calumn Morrison to the club. They also brought in guys like Dowds and Keena, who yes maybe didn’t set the show on fire at the Falkirk stadium, but were obviously good players and have went on to have success elsewhere.

Both Keena and Dowds would have been much better for us if they were working under a good manager. The amount of players that have looked dreadful in a Falkirk shirt over the years highlights what a basket case of a clubs we were.

Stand out at a much higher level of football than that which we have been occupying for the previous five seasons. And that’s to even enter the conversation.

I’m sorry but I can’t get on board with that. It doesn’t matter what league we’re in. If a player is performing incredibly well over a period of time then he deserves recognition.

You're effectively saying that if someone replicates Morrisons form but we were in the Premiership, then they would deserve legendary status but Morisson, who did the exact same wouldn’t because he did it in a lower league.

I stopped posting on P&B years ago because it's mostly full of nonsense. A few mates in the pub on Friday mentioned the garbage that had been posted about the Foundation. I read it and posted a comment about it. The responses were of a typical P&B standard. Shodwell has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Happy to correct both of you 👍🏻 Have a great day.

I’m assuming you decided to post again because there is very little nonsense now and you wanted to correct that.

  9. Going back to the conversation about players being offered contracts, I’d absolutely love Finn to sign on and I’d be happy if we keep Hogarth and Ross.  Hogarth is a decent keeper and as long as we sign someone who is arguably better then that will give him competition and drive him to improve. I think Ross is a very tricky player and although I hoped to see more from him, I think he’d be a good player to have in the squad next season.

Mackie is a decent player but I’m always anxious when he plays as he seems like a loose cannon and I’d rather not have to rely on him in the championship.

Oliver hasn’t broken into the team this season so I don’t think we should take him on for another year. He has been a good player for us but as other have said we should be looking to bring players in to improve this squad.

I’m on the fence with Shanley. I actually think he’s a good player and can link up play well, however, MacIver is better and I think we should be looking to bring someone in who could oust him from the starting 11. Maybe Shanley would be good to have as a third choice.

Im assuming McGinn will move on and rightly so. He’s been very good for us but I don’t think he’ll have much to offer us on the pitch in the Championship.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I too am delighted with how it's going but I am genuinely concerned with the lack of goals in the team at the moment, as we're possibly becoming a wee bit too reliant on crosses alone. I reckon teams have sussed this out. I got slaughtered last night for suggesting we should realistically have a plan B. Don't see what's wrong with that?

I actually think the lack of goals is due to us being at the business end of the season. At least 7 teams in the league will be playing us thinking a point would be magnificent but aim to avoid a heavy defeat. As points become more precious the more likely we are to see teams just try and frustrate us rather than score a goal themselves.

That was as good as a win for Annan at the weekend.

  11. Probably going to get myself a few reds here but oh well.

Although I didn’t think McGinn did anything wrong, I actually felt like we were a bit of a man down in the middle with him. He just can’t cover the ground Hendo and Tait can and I felt that we missed that today. We could have also used Hendo’s height with the amount of balls we threw into the box

I never buy this "he's young and will develop" talk. He's either good enough or he isn't .And I don't think he is good enough. By the way, Alfie is only a year younger than Callumn Morrison who has been our top player for the last 4 seasons or since he was 21 years old. Previous to that he had played 30 games for Hearts between the ages of 16 and 21. Other examples are Stephen Kingsley who first played for us at the age of 16 and played 88 games before moving on to Swansea at the age of 19/20. Scott Arfield made his debut at age at the age of 18 and played 108 games for us before moving on. Craig Sibbald played his first game for us at the age of 16 and made 214 appearances before leaving at the age of 23 (the same age Alfie is now).

So clearly you believe that if you don’t show the ability at a young age then you’ll never be good enough! I suppose Jamie Vardy doesn’t exist in your world or Miroslav Klose or Ian Wright for that matter. Some players develop later than others so I certainly wouldn’t write a player off because he’s 23 and that means he will never be good enough

  13. That announcement today tells you the reason behind Hamiltons tweet last week. Obviously we don’t know for definite but I’m guessing Hibs and Tate wanted the Falkirk move and Hamilton released that tweet in a move that can only be described as “no, I’m breaking up with you 😭

It’s both of their fault for me as like you say, Lang should pass him on but when you see Lang commit then he’s looking across the line and should cover the gap. Exactly the same type of scenario at Cove with McKays error.

Nonsense. You’ve taken a snapshot in time and said McCann should be switched on. In real time he will be watching the play and he won’t have had time to react to Langs error. 100% on Lang, however, he’s been so good I won’t criticise him for it
